Amy Dowden Is Live From Malmö, Sweden Where Eurovision Will Take Place On Lorraine [02.05.2024]

would you believe it's less than a week to go until your a vision that has come around fast hasn't it all gets underway then and our Amy daen is live in Sweden for is Amy we're going to talk EUR Vision loads um before that this was lovely I know that shley Bal has thanked you this week um but you know after you encouraged her to get herself checked out yes Shirley reached out to me you know that I've been doing all I can to raise awareness to make sure people are turning up to their mammograms and also check themselves unfortunately Shirley was recalled after her mamogram and she reached out to me and we spoke quite a bit um but I am so relieved that everything is okay um but I'm also just so proud of Shirley for using her platform for speaking out about it and to raise awareness and yeah I'm sending so much love to you Shirley and obviously please everybody make sure you turn up to your mammograms exactly we're so lucky to get that opportunity to have them and and you do such a brilliant job as well to encourage women and we're going to talk to you EUR Vision later I cannot wait it's going to be great thank you Amy and it looks lovely and sunny there as well now Eurovision semifinals are just five days away so let's go back to our Amy daen who is live from Malmo in Sweden where the contest is taking place it's all beginning already Amy it's the big buildup yes welcome to malm Moro rain I'm here at the Euro fan Cafe in Eurovision village where next week 100,000 people will all come together to watch the 68th Eurovision and last year 162 million people tuned in to watch Sweden's Lorraine win in Liverpool and that's why we're back here in Sweden and I'm joined by David who you are one of the organizers aren't you for Eurovision and it just gets bigger and bigger yes I'm from the European broadcasting Union and we organize the Eurovision song onist every year and as you say it is huge it's a global phenomenon now it's the world's largest live music event we have people watching this show in every country on Earth and next week we will have people from over 90 countries coming here to malma it is huge this show now and it's a hit making machine again we having so many songs coming out of this and there's nothing like it it unites people our slogan is United by music and we are going to bring together the world next week all looking at this amazing City in Sweden absolutely and it's 50 years since alus won you must have something special lined up we do of course we cannot ignore this anniversary because abber of course are eurovision's biggest winners so we have something very very very special planned I can't tell you anymore right now but it's going to be a moment it's really going to be very very special and something not seen on television before Oh we can't wait Camila rain oh it's going to be amazing of course it's all about the fans isn't it the fans coming together I mean they make the atmosphere it's so so good you've got a couple with you haven't you yes it's hugely popular across the world I'm joined by the official sweet Swedish fan club who's going to win who's going to [Applause] winra Rick you are a super fan but you are the man behind the Euro fan Cafe what can we expect well here in Malmo this is a destination to indulge all your Eurovision dreams we've got quizzes concerts live performances you name it oh amazing cannot wait now speaking of super fans Lorraine I have Alvin who is a super fan of your he is the official host here next week yes I am I love you this is my picture from my bed bedroom I have I've had it since I was 12 oh you look great and we particularly Love Don't We the slogan this year United by music yes we do there's nothing like music uniting people all everyone absolutely and dancing we love dancing music and dancing that's a statement it certainly is now we are one week away where 37 countries from armania to Australia will compete and I canot wait but I've obviously got my fingers crossed for Ollie olle Ollie absolutely very excited oh look at oie so cute do you know what Amy as if all this wasn't special enough you have somebody super special with you I do I'm joined here by my twin sister Rebecca we've had such a lush time haven't we here in Sweden oh we have and I think after the year that you've had letting our hair down and exploring all things Sweden and Europe fish it's been absolutely amazing for line you're going to have to wait till next week to see what we've been up to can wait you two have the best best time enjoy every single second I love it it's just so positive and gorgeous thank you both very much indeed
