Labor Day Hustle: DJing Events & overcoming life's obstacles

man oh man I am I'm feeling it today you guys uh we are off it's Labor Day Saturday May 2nd this is video log number two and we are off to our first show right now so um we're DJing today over at sunry Country Club noon to 4: and then I'm going to get of that event and run home and change out all the stuff and then Zoom back on over to downtown Melbourne debauchery for karaoke tonight should be a pretty good time but it's also a long day it looks like it's kind of overcast cloudy outside a little we'll make it work but I I am feeling it today I am tired so I spent all day yesterday doing that first video and because it was the first one it was harder than normal you know it was just tough I I took it a little too hard I think it's a first video and they don't got to be good you just got to be going you know so that's what I'm doing I going I'm on my way to sunry and I think uh it's going to be a pretty good day so far oh my goodness remember uh just a second ago when I said man I'm feeling it today well we get about 5 10 minutes down the road and I realized I have forgotten my polo for this event so I can't be DJ and just an athletic t-shirt so on my way back to the house to grab the polo then to the office to get some hula hoops then to Sun tree to set up and then we're zooming We're Off to the Races and we are DJing here we go okay so uh we have left the office we've got the hula hoops in check so that part of the mission is accomplished the GPS says we are 17 minutes away it's 11:25 and we got to be playing music by noon on the so we're going to zoom in there luckily our setup today is very fast very quick very easy and uh we've been there a whole lot so I think we got this we're still feeling still feeling pretty good about it so and just like that we are set up and ready let me show you Den Prime go Eevee zlx 12bt it's pretty awesome pretty cool we're ready to rock and roll and ride on time it is 11:58 so plenty of time we got this all [Music] [Applause] [Music] day is about 2:30 or so I thought the rain was going to hold off on us but this cloud is coming in quick let me show you I think a lot of the guests saw it coming and they're starting to trickle out and leave we're supposed to be here rocking till 4: but I don't know if we're going to make it we might I'm here playing until they shut it down so and just like that the rain did not hold out there is thunder in the vicinity I guess [Music] because they went ahead and cut down our pool but that's okay we rocked out it's uh it's about 3:00 or so so we made it most of the way we're supposed to be done at 4: so I'm going to let the song finish out pack up and head on to the house and get ready for the next one all right all right all right all right sunry Country Club and we've got to drop the hula hoops off and I'm not sure but I think I think Mike might be there he told me there would be a there might be a surprise at the office when I get there um and I think that means that him and his wife and his kids are at the office hanging out right now doing office things but um we're going to find out cuz I'm pulling into the parking lot so let's let's see maybe he is yep that's exactly what it is Michael vaness the vaness mobile is in the house get I just had some thoughts today's video is kind of focused on overcoming obstacles in your day-to-day life and for your business and the events and everything that you accomplish not planned this way but it worked out that this was a perfect day to Showcase some of those obstacles example tired from yesterday I did not want to go do this morning show but you know we got up we got doing it we did it put on a show even though we knew it was going to rain uh what I wanted to do is ask you what sort of obstacles are you facing right now and what ideas do you have or what things are you doing to overcome those obstacles I want to know let me know in the comment section uh we are arrived finally at our second event for the day I am early and I want to kind of talk about some more obstacles and stuff that like I said today's today's goal is to overcome obstacles obstacles actually speaking of obstacles it's raining and those people right there they are finally pulling out of that spot and it is directly in front of the front door and I need that spot cuz I got to carry an equipment inside and yeah okay so how convenient is that overcoming obstacles look at me they're going to pull out I'm just going to pull straight on in just like so and boom boom bat we are in on it today's topic of discussion for the video is going to be all about overcoming obstacles and obstacles are an inevitable part of any Journey you know whether that's in business or in in life they come and go in in many forms unexpected challenges and setbacks and even self-doubt that's all obstacles those are all obstacles and as I've kind of been thinking about it today uh something that I've come to realize is that it's not necessarily the obstacles themselves that Define our path it's it's how we choose to respond to them and overcoming those obstacles it's about resilience and adaptability adaptability adaptability and uh maintaining a positive mindset overall it's about seeing challenges not as roadblocks necessarily but as opportunities for growth and opportunities for learning each obstacle presents a chance to become stronger wiser and more resourceful in business obstacles can range from financial difficulties and Market competition or even internal team conflicts you know when you start to grow um in a book recently that I just read the the concept that they talk about in that book is is the uh the rule of three and 10 and they say that businesses when they're growing they have to do major reconstructive uh systems in place and they have to put new programs and new softwares and they have to revamp pretty much everything when you hit it uh a multiple of three or a multiple of 10 so if you're by yourself you're good until you get about three people and once you get three people it's time to put in some systems in place and then when you get to 10 people you got to redo those systems and when then you're at 30 people you got to redo those systems again and then you hit to 100 people so on and so forth it keeps going so um what I'm getting at with that is those team conflicts happen and you got to be able to overcome those you know you got to be able to overcome those obstacles the key to overcoming these challenges lies with staying focused on your goals and being willing to Pivot when necessary one of the things that brings in our company uh the most money is you know Revenue wise is our trivia nights and that was the result of a pivot I was able to Pivot and start to do trivia and now trivia is one of our largest uh incomes you know most of or I'd say half of our accounts are trivia successful entrepreneurs understand that obstacles are a natural part of the process and they use the challenges to refine their strategies innovate and improve successful entrepreneurs by viewing obstacles as opportunities to learn and adapt businesses can not only survive difficult times like the the seword epidemic that was going around but also emerge stronger and more competitive I uh and I moved to New Mexico and I opened my entertainment company in New Mexico because there was no competition there in terms of U magicians and balloon artists which is what I did at the time while I was there I then pivoted and I started doing DJ entertainment more frequently more often than not and uh eventually started doing weddings ultimately from a pivot from a last minute obstacle that I helped a client [Music] overcome what so which we'll talk about in another story one day but um I became a wedding DJ got pretty good into that and right when I started to get into the swing of things really started to uh make DJing my full-time career my job uh we got hit with the seaword epidemic and in New Mexico everything shut down for years and I lost all of my clients and everything so I pivoted I moved to Florida do personally between 50 and I'd say between between 50 and 70 weddings a year that all was the uh result of a pivot and of overcoming an obstacle and innovating and improving my my business you know personal obstacles may take the form of health issues uh Rel relationship struggles uh even career setbacks But ultimately overcoming these challenges requires perseverence and a willingness to step out of your comfort zone you know um a famous quote by I believe it's Einstein is the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting different results so if you're in a slump if you've dug yourself into a hole um you're not going to get out of that slump or out of that hole by doing the same thing and same thing if you're burnt out and you're not having fun doing your whatever you're doing as your job your career you need to look at that in you know introspectively and determine what you can change how you can mix it up so that uh you can grow and you can have um you know just a solid life and a good foundation for yourself it's important to remember that most obstacles are temporary there's nothing there's there's nothing that I can think of that I've had to overcome recently that was a permanent thing necessarily speaking it was a it was a I was going about it the wrong way or maybe I need to try it this way or just give it some time and it'll and it'll improve but most obstacles are temporary with determination and the right mindset they can be overcome anything can be one thing that's really helped me is surrounding myself with a really supportive network of people build me up you know cut away most of the negative influence and the um dead weight you are the sum total of the five people you associate with the most if you want to be a millionaire you need five millionaire friends if you want to be a successful um Entertainer you need five really good Entertainer friends you will naturally get better and you will naturally become that thing that you want to be just by associating yourself with that [Music] there he is do one time everybody job do you guys want to know how dumb I am I just realized that was a ghost story song just now I was like oh I've heard this song my whole life I'm like wait a minute she's dead what anyways hopefully you guys had a good old time thank you so much for hanging out with me I really do appreciate we
