Intro welcome to PIV Bulgaria this video takes you through the stunning architecture Rich history and unique culture that make PIV so unique a great mix of the old and the new pavv Bulgaria is a great travel destination to consider we'll stroll through the Charming streets of picturesque Oldtown discover ancient Roman ruins visit musse landmarks like the ancient theater and indulge in local cuisine join us on our journey as we explore the vibrant city that is pavv [Music] Bulgaria so we took a bus from Istanbul Turkey to plav Bulgaria and the ride was actually very comfortable so we're walking down the streets of pavv Bulgaria the weather is absolutely gorgeous a little windy Sun is bright it's beautiful this city actually reminds me a lot of toron Albania but um not as much horns very clean not as much people smoking so it's very Old Town [Music] nice while some would think that Rome or Athens were Europe's longest continuously inhabited City it is actually paved of there is evidence of continuous settlement since 6000 BC the second largest continuously inhabited city is Argos [Music] Grace Oldtown is a Showcase of delightful buildings from the 1800s a time when the ruling Ottoman Empire was in Decline and Bulgarian cultural Pride was on the rise so right now we're in front of the lamartin house and one of the interesting things about being here in Oldtown is you can do free walking tours so what they do is around some of these older houses here in the area they tell you what the old clood house is for the walking tour and you just have a QR code here so you basically just scan that and it gives you whatever language that you speak um you can listen to the history of where you're at the house the street whatever the case may be so I find that very fun this 19th century Stone Church is the highest in PL and is less ostentatious than the others in [Music] Ampitheatre PL they've got free shows going on in the evening we've just found out so we're going to come back tonight and see what we can see when it's free entrance but for right now we've paid to come in got the whole place to ourselves look at this we getting ready for a theater production here over the next couple weeks or next week or so since there's a festival in town but I wanted to show you something here so you can see there's like um seating that's along here but as you can see the seating the original seating here it's uh fact you know you're sitting Stadium it's just uh it's hard to imagine carefully coming down these steps look how they're made of pure marble so they're going to be pretty slick [Music] pretty impressive here at the theater just to give you an idea of what it looks like [Music] [Music] stss this looks pretty interesting what's in [Music] here it's just a looks like an entrance way let's take some video coming back the other side though [Music] Performance Night so tonight we are at the same Ampitheater we came to visit yesterday and we're taking in a live performance so how cool is that perance trust me how awesome was it to sit in an Amphitheater that seats 5,000 people built during the time of Emperor Tran around 98 to 117 ad unfortunately due to copyright restrictions we cannot play the music the dancers actually dance to performances were conducted by the countries of Hungary [Music] bugaria laia [Music] in [Music] Kazakhstan watching these performances in a centuries old Amphitheater at Sunset was quite a memorable event as you can see by the crowd this is probably common for them but for us it was quite possibly a once- in a-lifetime experience Roman Ruins [Music] [Music] just in the middle of the town here we have got a portion of the old ancient [Music] Stadium very cool crazy to think that it had been hidden for decades and now here it [Music] is this is amazing this is like the original ancient Stadium a small portion of it but how insane is this [Music] [Music] ancient cafe ancient cafe don't [Music] [Music] coffee what do you think baby crazy crazy I'm going to climb some steps here [Music] let see [Music] so one of the unique things here is how they numbered the section of where you're going to be sitting at is by these Greek letters right here and I can see there's some actual water damage here they kind of got fans running in the background but right here you can see the letter [Music] fi and they continue down this way as well I have to look and see what the other letters are but what's also unique is when you come to this section here as you can Traverse up the stairwell they have What's called the Lion's Paws but back in the day these were actual Lion's Paws right here pretty neat Food [Music] n
