number one program number one everybody always thinks of the quarterback how you doing I think that's probably the biggest thing good good I'm uh ready to roll was this a similar type spring in some ways for you because you were going through that last year kind of the same as what happened this year uh it's a little different um last year's injury I was second week I got here um broken foot couldn't really do much couldn't um didn't really know the guys didn't really know um couldn't really talk to them obviously I was on a scooter uh nobody wants to listen to the guy when you're running and breathing hard uh from a guy on a scooter that you barely know so it's a little different now I know the guys more than um than some of my teammates in the past I mean we're so close and uh this year I was able to get surgery and have it go really smooth and then two months in I was starting to run and work out and and be with the guys so I've been with the guys more this summer than I have in last summer cuz last summer I was really didn't the first time I got to work with the guys was uh the first day of Hall Camp last year so um I've been working with the guys since since May so I've had a really good summer so lots of throwing with the guys although there is a new group of receivers or at least Justin McGriff and then maybe some new guys yeah I'm really excited about the room I think we're really talented um we're really deep in that position room and we got some guys that just kind of showed up the last few weeks that are really some game changers um that many people don't know about so I think that uh it's going to be really really fun in Fall Camp it's going to be really fun to let them make plays and I'm really excited about the year I mean those guys made plays but there's got to be a system to it too that you can get guys in those spots what can you give us the Fine Line a little bit of that as you go into this season yeah I mean obviously they're talented and they wouldn't be here um the guys did a great job last year and I'm going to miss them dearly um but it really it's known what I like what they like uh working together in the week watching film talking outside of practice hey like if you see this I want this um it's just really communication and then like trust there's a lot of trust in this offense and um I you can tell as the year went on last year you got more and more trust that I didn't have really in the summer um working with the guys but it started to um Elevate play later in the year um so I think it's really exciting uh I got a whole summer with the guys and was able to uh to work out with them and and tell them what they what I want and what I should be looking for and what they should be looking for so I think it's really exciting I think they're really excited for the year and so am I Logan you got hit a lot last year obviously is are you are you just trying to keep it as long as you can to make a play is that is that kind of what happens some of those times uh I this just the position of the I mean that's just the where it comes with the job uh people you you see stuff in the defense and you know it's going to be open um and you're going to get H hit either way so you might as well make the throw that's the way I would look at it um I'd rather make a throw and stand in there and get hit than and just get hit and not make a throw and take a sack or take an incomp completion so it's a lot of uh just confidence um it's not for everybody it it hurts it's not fun um but it's what you got to do sometimes and some days they're better than others some teams are get there quicker than others and I think our guys do a really good job of I just tell them hey like they say sorry sometimes like dude it's football like it's fine like I'm fine we're good we're rolling and so I just really tell him hey just do your job and I'm going to do mine I'm going to stay in there as long as I can and uh if that's what it takes to get the ball out and let the guys make plays and then that's what it's going to do and that's my job is to help us win that's the only job I care about it's just helping us win you were pretty close then in Spring even though you weren't practicing to watching the guys behind you who probably will see a Time on the field a little bit we see that every year what was your evaluation of Cooper and Levi and the other quarterbacks yeah they're really talented obviously you saw what Cooper could do and then obviously you saw what Levi did to us um so they're super talented I'm really excited about the group uh we got some new coming in that are super talented um we got Garrett Larson that's been here for a while he's my roommate on the road he's a great great guy super smart really intelligent and uh he really helps the room out um tremendously so I think the whole group the whole room is really talented and I think it'll be really fun to watch and uh fall Camp I've played golf with Garrett this summer so he he's fun I got a chance to beet him okay end of this year coach has already said to be honest we know where we're at again people aren't putting you at the top of the league even though you won the league so you got to prove some things there and probably a tougher schedule to be honest I think everything's a little bit more upgraded even from last year yeah I would agree uh definitely um all the games we struggled in last year at home are away games uh those teams are going to be really good our whole conference is going to be good we expect every game to be a dog fight and uh yeah we got to Target on our back I mean they work as just as hard as we do to for the same goal to get that ring to hand that trophy um to the university um and and we did that and we we were really excited about that but then we know that none of that matters once we hit January none of that we we celebrated and then we were done we were done talking about it we were done wrestling our Laurels like it's just that's that's last year and that's not the same team we have this year um we have a lot of guys that left a lot of guys that added in and so some of the guys weren't even here to win a ring but that's okay we we know that we're we're picked at the might as well be picked at the bottom for we don't really care about what they pick us but I mean we see it it's it's most motivating for us and um I think we're really excited to roll and I think that uh they might as well just put us at the bottom honestly it doesn't matter to us Logan you're uh again who would have ever expected that out of Texas you'd end up in Logan Utah as Logan boner to be quarterback for the aies yeah I get that uh question a lot is that that's kind of neat though yeah it's super cool I it's I wouldn't want to be anywhere else I'm really excited that I made the decision and it turned out to be really really beneficial to me and my family and I just the compassion and love that this place has showed me has been unbelievable and I can't wait for another year well and your family returns it I mean do you talk about a family that really follows and and is so positive about everything that happens with Utah State and with you yeah they're I'm really blessed to have them they uh they live for it um they make I don't see them much in the year um probably seven months out of the year or I mean just until football season so I see them every weekend so they make the trips out here and whatever we're playing so they live for it they love it they love being here they love this place um and they're just really really blessed and I'm really blessed to have them you you're obviously looking at to use this year to maybe make a step to the next level of football yeah absolutely that's a goal that's a dream I've had since I was I started playing football when I was four years old um uh the main goal right now is just to do my best and help us win as many games as possible and one take it one game at a time but yeah that's that's that's a future goal for me I know I can play I know I can have an opportunity knowledge need just one shot so um I've seen my teammates from high school and then guys have worked out with or that are playing up there and and I know I'm just as talented as they are so I just been waiting my time had some bumps in the road and uh just just trying to play ball as long as I can and if that happens then it happens if it doesn't then that's just God's plan so I'm not I'm not really stressed about it but the only stress I have right now is game one against Yukon let's take care of it nice to talk to you again Logan good luck and we'll talk to you in the season I appreciate it thanks
