‘UNPRECEDENTED ACCESS’: Untold stories about Israel’s war with Hamas

right now the Israelis are engaged in a gun battle with you can hear that gun fire one of those Rockets just fired from the Gaza Strip slammed into a house behind me you can see behind me Israeli artillery units just a sampling of some of the moments that show you the reality of War Fox News Chief foreign correspondent Trey Yanks has encountered all of that while covering the war with his team in Israel he's documenting his experiences in a new book Black Saturday with which tracks the realities of what's happened in the months since the October 7th attacks he joined us now from H Israel to talk about that um Trey we are so in debt our viewers are the world is to you and your team for what you've been covering you started tracking and documenting photographing all of these things very early on what do you want people to get from this book yeah Shannon thank you look black Saturday is a book about the day this War Began you and I spoke earlier this hour about the rapidly expanding conflict across the Middle East and we were there when it all started on the morning of October 7th along the Gaza border as the massacre was unfolding in Black Saturday you will hear stories that are not yet told you will learn information that's not yet released to the public there is truly unprecedented access in this book I speak many times in person with Israel's defense minister yav Gallant I speak with senior Hamas officials with Israeli and Palestinian civilians multiple times I go into the Gaza Strip with the Israeli military on ineds sometimes during the day and sometimes at night to get a firsthand look at the battles that are still unfolding today if you're someone that's interested in Israel interested in Gaza interested in the Middle East in current events you'll want to read Black Saturday to learn more about what happened on that fateful morning well and we sometimes are separated from it here you know an ocean continents away from where you are but for the Israeli people that I talk to I mean this is still very much a daily painful thing for them and of course in where civilians are being caught up in this tens of thousands of dead there how are the people doing in the region uh as this has drawn on longer than most people would have thought from the beginning it's a great question and it's really what I want this book to focus on Black Saturday speaks with the people involved because it's a book about humans this entire conflict is about people that exist on a spectrum and so we're talking with everyone involved to get the true story about what happened that morning and in the early weeks of the war so I speak with hostages that were released as part of the November ceasefire agreement about what the experience was like dragged into the tunnels beneath Gaza I speak with Palestinian civilians inside the Gaza Strip who have survived the war so far and again this is a story about humans Black Saturday takes the reader through the experience of that morning and the early days of this conflict Shannon we'll try we look forward to all of your insights and behind the scenes and you said information we've never heard before thank you very much in Israel the this morning we will check back with you again soon thank you I'm Steve duy I'm Brian kilme and I'm Angley aart and click here to subscribe to the Fox News YouTube page to catch our hottest interviews and most compelling analysis
