Good Thursday morning, another hot day on the way but not as hot. We hit 100 degrees in Memphis yesterday the first time this year and hopefully the only time that we get that hot in 2024. 76 currently in Memphis, 75 in Holly Springs, 68 in Forest City, 72 in Tunica and 68. Currently in Covington will be hot once again, probably mid nineties though in the afternoon. And we're talking about something we haven't talked about. I don't know, it's been weeks rain in the mid south and it looks like this is the trend of maybe some more wet weather over the next couple of days. We see a couple showers starting to blossom up here in the North Mississippi. But I think in the Memphis Metro, a better chance comes this afternoon. You'll see that as we go hour by hour. On our forecast model here, we're hot once again, mid nineties in the afternoon, but around 1 to 2 p.m. notice isolated showers and storms a little bit of a different look than what we've seen for the last couple of weeks and it looks like very isolated. I'm not expecting all of us to pick up rain, but those of us that do definitely well needed rain and this could continue through the evening hours. Our model tries to keep things together through 10 p.m. But I think by about six o'clock, we're starting to probably wipe things out. Uh, in terms of rain chances here across the mid south for today. So this afternoon between two and four, our best chance of seeing any. It is very isolated nature. We're so hot though 96 around 2 p.m. Looking forward, high pressure in place right now. This has been the case for the last couple days. That's why we've been so hot. But notice where the winds are coming from from the south, it's pumping in some Gulf of Mexico moisture. So you're gonna feel that humidity building back in today. It's why we have those rain chances in place. We have a cold front moving in from the west. So pretty much a squeeze play between that Gulf of Mexico moisture and the cold front. And that sets the stage for some better rain chances tomorrow Saturday and even into Sundays, this cold front very slowly moves through the mid south. So I think uh one of these three days we're probably gonna see rain here in Memphis, sir, looks to be the wettest as of right now, but the bigger story behind that temperatures are gonna start to be a little bit cooler which is definitely a sight for sore eyes, especially after hitting 100 yesterday. These blues filling in show us cooler than typical temperatures for this time of the year. You can see that on, uh, the forecast here back in the mid eighties as we go into Sunday. So that Sunday forecast going forward 96 today, isolated storms in the afternoon. We're at 92 on your Friday with scattered storms. Probably your wettest day of the next couple Saturday, 87 we're down to 84 on Sunday and Labor Day is looking dry as of right now, partly cloudy as you go to next Tuesday. Let's take a look at traffic though as you head out the door.
