at least nine people have been killed in Bangladesh as clashes have erupted between police and anti-government protesters dozens have been injured please use tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse demonstrators in several parts of the country and mobile internet has been suspended in daaka let's get the latest from our reporter Shan oaz Rocky okay uh what's happening here it's actually totally violence protest violent protest now because I have been to different places of Daka since morning and what I have seen tens of thousand protesters are on the street and took place in different entrances of Daka and demanding to resign the government this is their onepoint demand at this moment now but later it became violent and there was lots of clashes between the pro rolling party supporters and with the protesters and several are injured but there we have confirmed several death across the country in different districts as well and nearly 100 injured in all over the country at this moment now so it's kind of violent protest now and just remind us how do we get here what's the background to these protests the back background was in uh the students started protesting to reform the Cota system of Bangladesh um and later it spark um violence uh among among the students when the Prime Minister comment who is going to get this job if the Freedom Fighters uh grandchild and child do not get this job is the rajakar is going to get this job so that's the word actually sparked the uh anger among the students and lat the pro rolling party student Wing chatra League they uh attacked on the protesters in the Daka universities and along with that and then it became violent within two days more than 200 uh protested died uh people died on the street so this sort of incident ignite the anger among the people and the student movement become mass movement now and I have talked to few peoples who are not student they are the parents or uh retired person and they also came on the street and telling we thought it's it's a student movement but when we see the chatra league is attacking the protesters and the student have been killed by the security forces so we felt that we should also step forward and come onto the street and support the students and later it become a mass movement and demanding to resign the government rather than reform the court
