what's going on YouTube this is sg1 sports and you're watching our college football channel we continue with our schedule preview projected record series the Wisconsin Badgers are up next before we get to the 2024 schedule let's look back at 2023 here was the schedule from last season for Wisconsin of course played Washington state in the non-conference also played Buffalo and Georgia Southern and then you look at their games against the Big 10 East they played Ohio State it's kind of crazy that they lost to Indiana they played ruggers Ohio State Indiana yeah no surprise they lost to Ohio State but a pretty big surprise that they lost to Indiana as bad as they were last season um so it seemed like an easy cross division schedule but again they did trip up against the hooers really it was a disappointing season for Wisconsin last year um given this schedule but we looked to the 2024 schedule and here it is let's before we go week by week let's break it down first we'll look at the non-conference Western Michigan South Dakota and Alabama so they've got a big non-conference game this year of of course against the Crimson Tide that's going to be a fun matchup uh Wisconsin year two under Luke fickle kayin bore making his debut there at Alabama this season uh that where will that program be exactly where will both programs be that's just that's going to be a fun matchup a home game for Wisconsin I think they've got a shot you look at their rest of their home schedule those three nland conference games and they play Purdue Penn State Oregon and Minnesota so they'll get four conference games at home five conference games on the road but overall they will play seven home games so Purdue Penn State Oregon and Minnesota there in the Big 10 uh Penn State Oregon definitely going to be tough games but you like their chances at home against Purdue and Minnesota let's look at the road schedule now we got at USC at Ruckers at Northwestern at Iowa and at Nebraska uh so not too tough of a Road schedule here really um you know USC that's going to be a tough one I'm sure Iowa will always be tough Nebraska could be tough rug I mean they're all games that Wisconsin could lose but but I think they've got a shot in all five of these games so it's not a terrible away schedule they don't play Ohio State they don't play Michigan so uh yeah it it works out pretty well for them in the Big 10 let's go week by week they'll start with Western Michigan on August 31st then it's South Dakota the next week September 7th and they'll play Alabama on September 14th so the three non-conference games will be the first three games of the season and then they get a bye so it's almost like you get a break before the real season starts before the Big 10 conference schedule begins and it will begin with a road game at USC they will not get the bye after traveling out west instead they'll get it the week before we've seen that with uh some teams where they go out west and travel across the country which Wisconsin is really not quite across the country um but yeah uh traveling to California there they'll get a bye before that game then they'll play Purdue on October the 5th then it's on the road at Ruckers on the 12th and on the road at Northwestern on the 19th so backtack Road games not necessarily the toughest places to play but still they will have to travel two weeks in a row there with Ruckers and Northwestern they'll get Pinn State at home on October 26th and then Iowa at home on the 2 that's going to be a tough back toback there really a tough stretch when you talk about two Road games you know back-to-back Road games then Penn State then Iowa pretty tough stretch there luckily they get a bye-week after that Iowa game and a bye-week before playing Oregon so they get a bye before both of their former Pack 12 opponents uh before USC before Oregon that's interesting but they'll play Oregon on the 16th and they'll go on the road to play Nebraska on November 23rd and they close things out with Minnesota on the 30th so again the the toughest stretch I think is going to be back-to-back Road games then Penn State then Iowa those four games in a row there could be pretty tough but you could even go all the way from USC to to Iowa there that's going to be a pretty good uh grind there in those games and then to close things out with Oregon Nebraska Minnesota uh this is a pretty pretty tough schedule for Wisconsin uh but it's it's again one of those schedules where yeah they can win most games here on the schedule I would say the only games they're going to be a pretty big Underdog or Alabama Penn State and Oregon but they could lose a lot of games they could lose to Ruckers or Northwestern on the road they could lose to USC on the road could lose to Nebraska on the road even Minnesota so um it's it's definitely going to be a challenging schedule for Wisconsin in 2024 you can see a 7-5 record in the regular season our projection had this team at 8 and4 uh my prediction was 10- two I was really high on Wisconsin obviously missed the mark there um athon had him at 9 and3 they were high on this team as well even the over under was at 8 and a half so our projection was actually closer than than anyone uh it was on the right side of the over under and sometimes that's the way it goes sometimes it's not but yes the projection last year was very accurate for Wisconsin so again here's the schedule this is the scale that we use if it's under 20 or over 80 those are games that are pretty much guaranteed wins or losses 20 to 29 71 to 80 games where I think the spread will be uh pretty big double digits uh 30 to 39 61 to 70 games where I think the spread will be closer to a touchdown and then your 50/50 games 40 to 60% those games will stay in the white those are games where I you know I really feel like it could go either way and the spread will probably be three or four points something like that so we'll start with easy wins we got Western Michigan and South Dakota I think they uh should be clear favorites overwhelming favorites in both of those games really no reason to expect either game to be all that competitive so you've got two easy wins on the schedule and then you've got a couple of games where I think they're going to be favored by about a touchdown Purdue and Minnesota uh I think Wisconsin is in a tier above these two teams and they play both of these games at home you put all that together and yes I do think Wisconsin will be favored probably by seven or eight points in both of these games of course it's early uh long ways away from from even knowing really how good these teams are going to be cuz I mean really don't know till we see uh till we get into the season but looking at it right now that's kind of how I feel like it's going to be and then I do think there are games where Wisconsin will be a clear Underdog I think Alabama Penn State Oregon I think they're going to be about a touchdown Underdog in all three of these games but the good news is all three of these games are at home so that gives Wisconsin a chance really in all three of these games now I don't see them winning all three but wouldn't be surprised at all if they're able to pull off a win in one of these three games again HomeField advantage such a big deal in college football and Wisconsin has a great HomeField Advantage so we'll see if they're able to pull pull off a win in one of those games the odds would say when you've got a game here in this range the odds would say if you have three of these games you're going to win one of them so which game will Wisconsin win that would be the question of course Alabama pen state or Oregon and then the rest of the games here on the schedule uh they're all 50/50 games you've got USC I think they're in the same tier as Wisconsin I do think Wisconsin is in a tier above Ruckers Northwestern and maybe even Nebraska but they play those games on the road so that knocks those down to 50/50 games and then I think Wisconsin and Iowa are going to be pretty even next year as well so you've got five 50/50 games five games that could really go either way uh if they're able to pull off a win in one of these games in the yellow and they win all their 50-50 games could be a great season but again it could go the other way you could lose to Purdue or Minnesota you could lose most of your 50-50 games and all of a sudden you're back to seven and five or8 and four or something like that uh so you know it could definitely go either way way but uh when we do our projection here the projection for Wisconsin comes out to be 7 and5 again with a difficult schedule with a lot of 50-50 games with three you know more games let let's just ignore Western Michigan and South Dakota they have more games that they're going to be a clear Underdog than they do that they're going to be a clear favorite if you get rid of those two cupcake games so yeah it's going to be a pretty tough schedule seven and five I think's pretty fair I think this team is capable of maybe doing a little bit better than this but but if things don't go right for them with this schedule they could lose let's say the three games in the yellow they could easily lose to to USC they could lose to ruggers or Northwestern they could lose to Iowa or Nebraska you know it could easily be a six and six even maybe maybe even a five- seven type season uh but again it could be better it could be 8 and four could be 9 and three so I think seven and five a pretty fair projection for Wisconsin do you guys agree do you disagree give me your thoughts on this team and your projection down in the comments below oh
