LIVE: Authorities give update on emergency response near Great Wolf Lodge in Webster

someone was brought in to remediate what company so we do know what that company's in route now so the the contractor will bring in remediation company also uh great wolf wild will probably bring in a third party as well so how is the problem I guess contained or fixed if a company still coming into remediate so basically these two chemicals will just basically kind of cancel themselves out they'll have a reaction and then they'll just resolve themselves so they're just it's all just sitting in that same tank in there and everything is fine so there's there's no other reactions are going to happen other than how we remove that mix chemical now at this point is it just like on the floor or something it's in the tank yeah so this chemical is intently mixed inside of a tank when we look over there which of the buildings is it so it is the the Brown building right here right in front of the uh in front of the little tube slides there small building next to the dirt that's correct the construction workers I'm assuming that they're here finishing up construction of the Lodge correct that's correct okay yeah yeah they're finishing up the final uh uh I guess whatever they're doing here to finish the building off um and those are the guys were affect us no no Hotel guests were infected the hotel guests inside were not affected um so everything is Operation is normal inside do you know how many guests are currently here I do not know that do you have any estimate I have no idea I do not yeah it's it's brand new facility so I have no idea exactly what uh what the count is inside and how long is it until this kind of clarifies the traffic in this area so once the environmental company will come in here and we'll probably release our guys so we'll go away and they'll they'll end doing the restoration Chief so the grand opening was today for both there recently uh is this impacting them at all in terms of they operating are they going to have to shut down this morning anything like that the only thing that that it may uh affect is the outside pool but the water park the hotel and the family entertainment side has not affected at all and again there's no threat at this time anymore there's no threat at all the threat has been resolved so nobody was evacuated except the lers that's correct yes sir in construction workers or workers with construction workers y to your understanding I mean was there any sort of inspection that the fire department was supposed to do here before today that might might have not happened so all the inspections were be were complete this was just a normal operation of them adding uh chemicals for the pool supply room to actually treat the water for the pool so this was just a normal activity what did you say the chemicals were the chemicals were uh sodium hypochloride and sulfuric acid Chief is there anything else you like T I think we're good I mean have you ever responded to anything like this I mean we we respond to all calls so this is just another day in in in a fire department's life um like I said we respond to all calls um and we we handle them appropriately why is someone from Great Wolf Lodge not here right now talking to us uh they will put a statement out um basically they're referring all the incident since we're the in charge of the incident right now all the all the uh the the media will come through us is it that some sort of agreement between you and them no no it's just just something that we it's our scene so we're the ones that are going to we have all the information of what's going on but but it's their pool it's their pool correct so but we we have control of the scene so we will we will provide that information to you so did the in happen in Anya where a guest may come in contact absolutely not no yeah it's all mechanical area any other questions thank you have a good day thank you thank you
