rolling away looking for something nobody's open he is decked and the Cowboys take over de marvan overon how about that de marvan overon the former Longhorn linebacking great uh from uh East Texas AR Texas man his drafted by the Cowboys last year his rookie season uh did the had the unthinkable things that you don't plan on but injuries are a part of the game and he had a great preseason debut last season but suffered a knee ligament tear an ACL injury and as you all know more than likely if you don't uh those types of injuries they take a long time to heal de marvan overon made his NFL regular season debut and he simply dominated and Jeff trayer Texas High School football coaching Legend is bringing his road runners to Austin for the second time in a few years to play The Long Horns 2024 NFL season uh de marvan overon looked incredible and incredible from a physical standpoint uh going through almost a year of Rehabilitation from an ACL tear in in one of his knees um honestly he looked much better than he did even when he was at Texas he looked much better than he did during rookie OTAs the year prior he looked it's he just looked faster and had something to prove and which he did I mean his box score listen to this in that win over Cleveland in which the Cowboys dominated I'm not going there we've seen the Cowboys start early start quickly we're just not going to talk about it let's see where the Cowboys are at the end of the season let's just say they have a chance to do big things this year um jaded Cowboys fan right here but Dem marvan over show in his first ever NFL regular season game after that injury 11 total tackles five solo stops one QB sack one tackle for loss and he hit the quarterback two times needless to say Dem marvan overshown was absolutely ecstatic uh upon his return and this was him topless shirtless it amazing just thinking about it look at the smile on his face it looks like a kid on Christmas morning which receiv received exactly what he wanted when you when you have a year of just straight rehab no playing football you know it's it's days where man I just want to run fast again and seeing those guys flying around and standing on the sideline like wishing I was a part of that and finally got to do that today and it it felt good you know uh I I definitely got comfortable after a couple plays and then it we just playing football again uh the rehab was definitely intense you know when you got a ACL injury it's a process and being the competitor that I am you know you get in your head and where you think you can do more than what you're supposed to be doing I'm I'm trying not to walk without my crutches too early I'm I'm walking up the steps of my house just to just to feel something but I basically just staying mentally loed in and knowing that this time was this time was coming around this time this year and uh just trusted the whole training staff uh trusted the guys that I I went to work with every day the other guys that tore their ACL and I I knew once this moment came that I was able to Showcase what I was able to do last year that uh you know it was going it was going to be a good one I love that I especially love that smile on demarvin overson's face man you talk about a guy who could not wait could not wait to prove that he belonged and he more than proved that he was belong he belongs on that level if he stays healthy dare I say it that Dallas Cowboys defense with de marvan and Michael Parsons it's going to be a problem it's going to be a big problem for the NFL that's all I'm going to say I'm not going to predict anything I'm just going to say the potential is there for the Dallas Cowboys to have a great year especially on defense and with all these contractual agreements Dak uh Prescott the highest paid player in NFL history $60 million a year for four years I'm not going to jinx it I'm just saying the potential is there honest is a strong word and we all need honesty when it comes to plumbing and HVAC needs somebody who will take care of the repairs efficiently and with quality honest Plumbing in air is who I trust and they take pride in that word honest Plumbing these stories inside the man cave power 12 rankings behind Georgia and they will meet here in Austin on October 19th now now they had a huge win huge win up in Michigan in Michigan Stadium um The Big House Michigan's not as good as they were when they won the National Championship but it is a huge victory for Texas for anyone to leave the big house with a win now they are hosting a familiar foe a familiar face Jeff trailer Texas high school football coaching Legend he was on the staff when Charlie Strong was here great guy Texas High School football coaches association they love him everybody loves Jeet trayer he's really good at his job he really knows how to coach tackle football and he's done a phenomenal job with UT San Antonio they're nationally relevant because of him and he's done a phenomenal job really has but yeah he's not afraid to play Big Time opponents they played Tennessee in the past they played uh here at UT in Austin a couple of years ago and they gave the UT all they could handle early but UT did pull away and win but if you asked Jeff trayer he said this may be uh the toughest opponent that they have ever faced since he's been at UTSA here here's the biggest difference yes we have had our teeth kicked in before um I'd say this is the fourth time honestly well we didn't have the University of Texas waiting on us the number two team in the country and the best team in the country and the loudest place you can play arguably in the country he has nothing but respect for his former employer but I I do remember he also said in the same press conference that UT has in the two deep those dudes the type of impressive dudes like usually most teams have three to six on their roster they have dudes Next Level type players potentially but Jeff trer and the road runners uh lost for the first time to Texas State in San Marcus over the weekend they got their teeth kicked in as Jeff trayer alluded to they lost Big Time GJ Kenny has a great great program going uh and he has built that in San Marcus but uh Jeff trer and the road runners will be back they've lost a lot of players they're rebuilding so to speak but uh I guarantee you I I would venture to say UTSA will be another they'll have another bold team this year but you know what I'm starting to side with what Jeff trailer said if regardless if you're a longhorn fan or not this is one of the best Texas teams this Century this Century they're starting to look that way and they are very impressive to watch as far as execution they're well coached they're disciplined they play fast they play loose and they have some dudes really do those type of dudes that everyone uh knows their name and they are making quite an impression after only two games of this young season hey college football college football the Cowboys anything you know what whenever you have an opportunity it's always good to talk about oh
