[Music] all right guys what's going on welcome
in so I'm just getting home now and I see that there's two reports surrounding the New York Jets
Assan reic situation right and this is obviously a pretty Amplified talking point after what we
witnessed uh or uh the lack of what we witnessed on uh Monday night against the 49ers which was no
success in the pass rushing Department Brock py just did whatever he wanted he he did whatever he
wanted he had all day to throw and it was it was a bad performance not to mention stopping the Run
bottom line is if you're Joe Douglas and you allow four players to leave Al Woods Quinton Jefferson
jfm Bryce huff and you replace those four with three Javon kinlaw Ley fotu Hassan reck and two
of those three are not suiting up we're going to be thin at the position but let's go over these
reports here okay one is from Jesse Palmer and he was doing a Bleacher Report stream and then the
other is from josa Anderson and josena Anderson has the massive one okay so let's talk about the
Jesse Palmer one first uh he's reporting uh and also quick shout out to boy green uh for sharing
the Jesse Palmer one uh but Palmer goes on to say there's no quotquot there's no movement between
both parties and reck is quote unquote really dug in and my understanding is he's comfortable
missing more games now that lines up with the Dian or Cen Diana Rini report from I believe
it was a week ago where it was that reic is willing to die on this sword and everybody knows
what Hassan reck wants more money he wants more that's why he was traded from the Philadelphia
Eagles right we've beaten this subject to death everybody knows it right reic wants more money he
wants a new Revisited deal now moving on to the josena Anderson report okay bear with me this
is a this is long I'm going to read it all out here but here we go a high ranking League Source
weighing in today on the Hassan reic situation with their opinion either Joe Douglas did not
do his due diligence on fully understanding what Hassan reck's desires were or someone reneged
on a promise but from where I'm sitting based on the contractual situation reic was already in in
Philly it seems like to me that Joe didn't ask all the questions he should have from from everyone
or he got worked from howy Roseman reic feels like a player to me who has been anchored uh on on his
number for a while the deeper a dive you do in the situation especially now that uh Joe Douglas said
he's not trading them the more it doesn't look good separately I remember the day it became known
the team was certain Bryce Hof was not returning to the Jets and how pissed off some people were
in the building about it mixed with the pressure they were feeling was mounting on this regime
as it relates to reic in the context of what's happening right now since then some sources have
uh been wondering out loud with a sympathetic tone how much any potential eagerness the front office
had to address the palpable pain Point around the building from losing Huff impacted the flow of
reic trade negotiations especially in the context of all the offseason turmoil the organization was
experiencing at the time side note keep in mind I've written many times saying Douglas deserved
another shot this year even after adamantly saying and tweeting many times before last season
started that in my opinion bringing back Zach Wilson even as a qb2 was a mistake when better
backup options were available in March of last year however I still believe at the very least
there was no need for Douglas to announce he's not trading reic uh in reaction to the news of
reck's trade request in a corner himself publicly as stated in the in uh in the August post below
uh and she goes on to tag um you know her her previous post where Douglas said he's not trading
them the week one loss to the 49ers does not help though theoretically the test the Jets faced
in San Francisco should not be as strong versus Tennessee on paper that is okay so first things
first here I'm not underestimating the Tennessee Titans they gave that game to Chicago they flat
out they they gave the game to them they blew it in my opinion Tennessee was in control the entire
day and yes of course I do think Tennessee is a worse team than the 49ers right the NFC champions
uh right a bunch of new players on Tennessee they have a brand new coaching staff but I'm looking at
this matchup as a game where the Jets need to be 100% prepared 100% prepared going into Tennessee
again after Tennessee blew that game think about their fans think about their players think about
the organization they're now coming back home home opener they are anxious to get back on the field
and prove a lot of people wrong right to to write their wrongs if you will and walk out with the
w so the New York Jets they again they have to be prepared here but again before we dive into
that I did want to give a special shout out to today's video sponsor sgeek the number one rated
ticketing app I love being able to work with and and collaborate with a company that is able to
give you a good deal if you use code jet Central at checkout you'll get $20 off your first purchase
whether you're going to an NFL game whether you're going to a college game baseball game you're going
to a concert you can use that code and again SE is the number one rated app they they have this cool
system in place to where you know you're going through you're scanning through uh individual
tickets for a specific event and they'll rate each one green is good red is bad based off of
good deal bad deal uh price points and where you're going to be located in the stadium um so
love being able to partner with them it's sweet and I hope you guys you know can uh you know can
can can benefit from the code uh anyway back to the vid so for a macro perspective there's really
four outcomes four potential outcomes with this reic situation right the first is that the New
York Jets and Hasan reic come to some sort of agreement and there's a solution reic shows up
reic is playing the Jets want him there he be he comes in and helps out a room that uh again
based off of week one we we we we could use the help uh sweet right awesome option number two reic
holds out but the Jets end up finding a solution along the way weeks from now a month from now
month and a half from now and at that point you know yeah reic does help the team but
what's our record at that point reck still has not you know he I mean like it's tough to
imagine somebody showing up in like like around Halloween ready to play in an NFL game with having
zero practices with the team all offseason zero preseason showings does not know the system
has not worked with the coaches does not know the players tendencies so he would show up and
there would be this onboarding period of about weeks I I would say and granted reick is a good
pass rusher he's a veteran pass rusher you can line him up wide outside and just say go attack
the quarterback um you know use your moves use your you know bag of tricks to blow by tackles and
and get in the back field but as far as reic just being like that starter playing whatever it may
be 65 70% of the snaps you know you're not just going to sign him tonight and he's going to step
into that role by the next game the third option reic just skips the whole year and it continues to
be a distraction week after week after week month after month and that's that's it right we gave
up a sweet pick reic never shows up and that's the end of it right and it it just looks weird and
and again it's a talking point every single week and it gets magnified every week that the Jets
pass rush doesn't have success and then option number four the Jets trade reic I I know Douglas
said that he was not going to trade on the the you know that the Jets aren't going to do that
U as josena Anderson pointed out here but you know if a team out there is willing to part waves
with a pick because again reck is a good football player he's a really good pass rusher if there's
a team out there that needs a pass rusher and they have the funds to pay reic they want to do that
Philly didn't want to do it it's clear the Jets don't want to do it would you be mad at Douglas
if he trade San re for you know a third round pick within the next couple of weeks uh the team that I
I feel like makes the most sense for reick and and the team that I I feel like I see a lot of fans
talking about a lot of fans of of that team is the Arizona Cardinals uh you know a team that is
trying to build uh they're trying to move in the in one steady Direction they have their culture
with Jonathan Ganon Hassan reck's former coach back in Philly reck would come in and be the p
uh the best pass rusher on the team and Arizona has the money to pay him reck obviously knows
that organization well he knows that you know the area well uh being drafted by the Cardinals
so you know with that you know with having those connections the fam uh the familiarity both with
the organization and the coaching staff uh and the defensive system maybe that makes sense what if
the Cardinals offer a second round pick what if they offer again a third round pick would you be
pissed at the at the Jets for cutting their loss and saying you know what yeah we dealt a 26 third
round pick you know let's just flip a and get a 25 third round pick like if that's the case you
know yeah reic doesn't help out this season and it doesn't help out the pass rushing situation
for this year you could also argue if if this season doesn't go well Douglas is fired and he's
not even making that draft pick um but to me those are the four options right he's either here and
plays he either skips you know continues to skip week after week until the Jets you know until
maybe one party caves and then they get this weird half season from Hassan reic where he's not
even 100% in game shape at the time of the signing so there's an onboarding period number three he
skips the entire year and it's just a massive distraction and headache or four the Jets just you
know bite the bullet and trade wreck and see what they can get for him um and I would say that the
first choice is the preferred choice for me get him in the building some way somehow I think the
worst possible thing is that the Jets just hang on to him he never shows up and the Jets and reic
are just they're at a standstill right they're just looking across at each other who's going
to break first the Jets are like no we're not giving you this extension and reck's like I'm not
showing up unless I get it and weeks go by it and before we know we're at the end of the year and
that's it right that just feels like a lose for Hassan reck a lose for the Jets it it just doesn't
I I really don't feel like it benefits anybody at that point um really really at all so anyway let
me know your thoughts Down Below in the comment section I appreciate you uh hanging out watching
means the world and as always go Jets [Music]
