Bay FC Defender Savy King’s Journey to the FIFA U-20 World Cup

you know this has been something that I've been working towards for a really long time so it's just such an honor to be able to say that I'm going to be able to play in a u20 world cup and I'm just so grateful for everything that I've been through that's led me to this point you know it's been a lot of hard work to get here but you know it's been the sacrifices are all worth it you know this is what I do it for so I'm just super excited and and I can't wait for it to start we're going to give it our go and we're going to give it our best shot and you know we have we have a good group so you know just taking it one game ated time um getting through group stage is is the main priority and just I'm really enjoying the process you know it's something that doesn't come around a lot know the most important part is just have fun and building our chemistry as a team on and off the field so you know just continue to build on that and then hopefully bring home gold we've been kind of implementing things that we want to continue to get better at and like stack on from our performance at conap and I think it's just been like really focusing on certain aspects of how we want to play and our style of play and then also just making sure that we're all on the same page and we all know what the goal is of the team something that I want to do is get into my leadership role a little bit and kind of um be a leader on this team both with my actions and my words I think that this is a great opportunity for me to kind of show my experience that I've had because I've been a part of national teams from a really young age so it's been a lot of me trying to like adjust and adapt to each level and each style of play that comes with being in different environments like I was a center back in college colge and like that was the first time that I had really ever played that position like I I mean I embraced it and I loved it and you know I think that it's very helpful and like now I understand like all positions throughout the back and I'm able to to play in any of those positions like the style of play I think is the biggest thing the international game gives like a different level I think International play is definitely like really really intense I love soccer so I mean it brings me the most joy I love showing up to practice every day the games are even better um I mean when you when you're s play all you want to do is play so the games are the best part but I I just I love soccer so much and that's why I've dedicated so much like of My Life um to the game but I'm super grateful that I've been able to experience all three and to be able to sit here like being 19 and talk to you about my different experiences in college and international and being a pro so and then they like it's it's been awesome to be able to to share my story and like what I've been through so super excited [Music]
