[Music] guys we are here with north carolina central quarterback davis richard and probably the one the best return men in the fcs brandon brandon cottontown guys the first question is what makes this team special you guys are the you guys are the leaders now of this team what's different about this team than the team last year um one of the things i say would make the team different is the chemistry like over the summer i've seen a lot of guys because you know usually guys click up on based on position groups but during this throughout the summer i've seen a lot of guys deal with through different position groups like when my roommate is one of them you expect me to get another receiver center from other roommates so that gonna make a big difference that a lot of teams is more bonded together amongst positions our chemistry this year is crazy compared compared to the last few years we've been here like you mentioned earlier we were young last couple years so now everybody coming back 15 returning starters the chemistry is great so we really expected to win this season at the quarterback spot you've had a big year last year you were a first team on the act selection for at least our publication this year man what's been the keys to your development this all season what do you want to focus on and what do you hope to improve going into 2022 um keys to my improvement first of all coach leone played a big part into it my mental game and physical part but most of my mental health challenged me to be in the film room study different defensive monster media not just to me as nfl was or different college wives and also my position group quarterbacks guys behind me um there's a lot to push me and make me better so i can never be complacent in the position and coming to the off-season one of my biggest areas of improvement for myself was probably my accuracy like towards the intermediate deep uh felt it was all right but to me it wasn't good enough so came in trying to focus on that and dial in on that in in you brandon we've talked offline one of the best returns in the fcs what makes you so good at being that pump return to kick return wherever they put you how how do you do it and what's the keys to that i really say coaching uh my teammates uh my team isn't black for me none none of them wouldn't be possible so i really say really my teammates motivate me the most they always tell me score score so it's really them for that motivates me and then the coaches it really takes both teams serious so uh going into every week that's the first thing we look at is the team's return game or their uh their plan team or their kickoff team so um i feel like it's really coaches and teammates that push me they motivate me the most you'll be one of the leaders of the defense as well what are the unit goals for the defense and how would you how would you describe the defensive mindset going into the season um this year's defensive line says takeaways um last year uh we really didn't have the main takeaways in the uh the back end the corner back in the safety room we had a few but uh out of me in the other corner we really didn't have really any interceptions for those so that's really the gold issues takeaways and keying on other team's mistakes and not you know dropping interceptions or you know just taking advantage of the team's mistakes you know on the offensive side of the ball you guys return a lot of players from last season offensive line returns almost the entire thing for you guys what are your girls goals for the upcoming season as a total unit as an offense to continue continue to build on what we did last year and also build that consistency not going on a roller coaster ride we weekend week out good at consistency you know i'm starting off fast a lot of games last year we didn't start off too great but we pitted up towards the end we're trying to eliminate that come right off the gate punching i like it and guys man it's all about player promotion on our platform man where can people follow y'all's journey on social media uh you can find my instagram at 11 dwr um twitterdaviousartfieldtv my instagram is vcodinuscoursevcld.underscore and my twitter is uh be still 8-0 guys make sure to go follow my guys here man north carolina central in my opinion is going to be one of the best teams in the me act this year man but stay tuned for more content for me ag media day [Music] you
