jason sudeikis being hannah waddingham's biggest fan (part two)

team owner uh the most gorgeous intimidating and and yet also uh gorgeously fragile uh Rebecca Welton uh Miss Hannah Wingham ladies and gentlemen Hannah ringham we got her I I mean I the first big change or difference from years past I think of is is the addition of uh our good friend Hannah watting ham who played Rebecca Welton on Ted lasso uh she is I would say besides Fred arm who couldn't be here this year the one person that overlaps of being gifted comedically but then also uh equally as gifted uh of of uh singer so so we're all very excited about that especially the band because they you know they don't have to uh cover her mistakes like they do for myself and and and the other comedians uh and actors um but yeah that's that's you know that's the that's that's the one that pops in my head off top right off the bat soda water spit in your face which again it's it's it's perfect it's a perfect moment she probably took 20 No Maybe not maybe anywhere between 10 and 15 you know we'd have to dry her off we'd have to you know and then I'd you know lay into her again and she's just like just lay it on me just lay it on me and and my joke you know post is like we use you know we use take one you know we use we're I just fan of the Rebecca Welton uh character and that Journey portrayed by Hannah watting him I'm not alone obviously uh so Hannah was here earlier very tall so tall so lovely like listen that lady is serving body AI a tonight ridiculous but she said that I don't think I was aware of Hannah being a Christmas afficianado I mean very proficient at singing and Performing and laughing and being an overall wonderful person that I was aware of all those things added together usually equal some that is pretty darn good at Christmas it was it was just a joy and then Hannah and I took our kids uh every other weekend to you know the West End to go see musical so it's like the kids got the proper Ted lasso experience no I I I texted her and she was like yes what did you tell her about Kanas City oh I nothing I mean nothing that she didn't learn from the scripts of Ted lasso but but you know she's she's met my family she's met my my folks she's she's met other people from Kansas City she she she knows you know I'm from there and she's Met she's met you know dozens and dozens and I mean you the good luck that have of the people I was born into the the the family that that I didn't choose the family that I have chosen that I mean that's enough of an advertisement you know for for this town I I think you know things dust yeah the of I think one did you cut did I see you cut anything I don't think I did can't remember I can't remember if maybe I've cut them or at least placed them in the in the pink box but no I mean it's pretty funny you know getting to you know do a press for it and uh here you know I knew this cuz I asked to try one but but that's the best acting that Hannah who plays Rebecca does on the show is making those seem edible because they're super dry and super like like they're not good they're not good they look better than they are that's the you know that's that's you know movie Magic right there and just and just good good strong theater chops can I ask you a question it everyone's got their favorite Ted lasso saying moment whatever love the Goldfish 10 second memory that what's your what's your favorite Ted lasso ISM golly it's right some of it yeah I mean just he definitely spoke in in in you know those kind of sayings phrases but um I mean I think I think one that I really really like is the it's kind of back and forth between K and Rebecca and the uh in the in the pilot where you know where she goes oh do you believe in ghosts no but I think they should believe in themselves you know uh like that feels exactly right CU because there's something about not just Ted just coming out with something but but receiving something and then coming out the other way and just Hannah's look of just like huh okay right right right funnyest lady so good oh my God bu in my head when I met her and the fact that she's you know like same height but taller and heels like she was really taken by the fact that like it didn't like it didn't sweat me at all cuz I was like well it wouldn't sweat Ted like like you know like it's like [ __ ] great to be a part of it uh I didn't think I was going to get to because the timing of being in the live show didn't quite work out but the fact that I got to do uh a little button here on the end uh was lovely what fun it is to laugh and sing a slang song tonight jingle bell jingle bells jingle all the way oh what fun it is to ride in one horse open Sligh the one open SL yeah to Hannah Poppins take me home je all right I actually don't know how to drive on this side of the road that sort of the the prerequisite you know for us to get Hannah here you know uh to get to get her to sing you know there's got to be some you know some booze and some some gentle peer pressure but to sing with the band yeah I'm so excited to see it happen because you know she is the problem with yeah I was going to say the problem with Hannah is she's too good she right like what's the fun of that and in there's that that old like like uh that old thing of like you know all rock stars want to be comedians all comedians want to be rock stars like Hannah's pretty is a good overlap her and Fred armson Fred who's usually here but couldn't be here this year are like the overlap where that they actually are both you know so uh yeah I'm I'm can't wait can't wait to see her I haven't seen her in a while either so it's funny Hannah what are you most excited for people to see coming up oh now that's a very clever way to try and get to give spoilers don't think it wasn't that clever smoth y you're not getting that out of me well is she okay wow is she still GNA have that part when Carol really wants to meet you and I was like and Carol went I love your work and I literally just lost my mind lost my mind but no do we I I would asked to handle this today in doing press did we did we watch a video of her we W no then cuz that day being bummed about how that went I just happened to talk to a a friend of mine um who I know from college an actor around town some know maybe named Todd stashwick who's a who's a real good dude and talking to Todd about you know he's like what's going on with you ah was just an England doing this thing trying to cast this part didn't go great um well what's up AP part and I explain it all to him um and he listens patiently and at the end he says Hannah w what Hannah wam trust me she's exactly what you're looking for she's amazing also she will drink after work Hannah okay uh 3 Days Later Theo sends us video of of Hannah's audition and I think two days after that you guys were testing together yeah she flew out and we were at Warner Brothers and I read with her and I walked in and she's you know she's we're the same height and and then in heel she's 3 in taller than me and she was worried about that I wasn't cuz I was like I you know as a former like Point guarder basketball team I used to being you know the short one even though as an actor I'm fairly you know I guess tall and she was worried about it but it worked for the character and it was just like it did not phase and then in explaining things to her because you know Apple she didn't even read the full script um because you mean with apple you know I guess they do other things besides TV shows that they you know are concerned about leaks and whatnot and so they did that with the material too so she only read the scenes you know the audition scenes so then I was sort of explaining things to her and then there elements of the character and the story and the backstory things that that you know sort of get explored you know a little bit towards the end of the season and more so throughout the the the other you know the upcoming season that she just understood I could see it in her eyes and she understood and then she read it and she crushed it and then I remember that you know that that night uh or that day that cuz it was like an hour and a half or whatever and she mentioned I think she mentioned then that you know I had her you know that she was saying and you know done Broadway and Lady of the Lake and spam a lot and you know you know play the Wicked Witch of the West and Angel Weber wizard of O and like you know like legit badass like you know you know West End like you know Anu and M whatever whatever the you know appropriate terms are uh and I was like okay all right good cuz I knew we knew there was a karaoke you know element of the you know of an episode um so I was like oh great okay good good good good to when I was pitching to Apple about my Christmas special and I said I I want it to be like a meeting of Dean Martin and Carol Bernette and if I if I do another one is there any way you would sing with me and she went I I'll start practicing now and I was like what do you think are we actually allowed to talk yes you can talk okay morning you're British you're really British wait actually Jason has some cookies for for you yeah these these these will be waiting for you we'll have Brendon bring them back to the hotel these are these are these are our biscuits boxes are just getting bigger and bigger too big way too big yeah aren't you child trying to F that boy or do you need more a it heart keep P so hardcore Hannah congratulations on achieving your dream and we also try to curate it with people that that understand us and they're just you know good you know good good time and like an easy hang and you know that's everybody that's your name and you know and all the ones that we haven't named but it yeah it's it's it's daunting to try to you know like keep it up or to uh uh you know you know even upgrade it that's even possible I think people will be blown away by Hannah oh without a doubt yeah yeah I mean we kind of you know spoil by having her sing a few times on the show you know but they're still but they're still going to have to like reckon with it when it happens in live again I've seen her you know sing live a few times but I've also you know heard her do karaoke to like you know like midi tracks to to play with Summer Breeze with an actual live band can't away as a fan and a water lasso included story lines that truly celebrated lgbtq characters it was always episode seven it was always that and then you know and then when Hannah got H you knowah like came into our life and then we were like and then I we said yes and she was like sure I only know her from doing one of her least favorite things in the world and that's ioke which she's really really good at so I can only imagine how good she would be at doing something she loves like performing on stage so I'm looking forward to seeing the show as much as anybody having not had the chance to watch her live on stage uh with the exception of you know on like YouTube and watching old performances so yeah I'm I'm I'm very excited to see it
