PAUL WATSON ARREST || Explained

hi there and thanks a lot for taking the time to watch this video I hope that this information will provide some understanding about Paul Watson and his situation at the moment some of the things about his arrest seemed quite absurd to me so as he's in a vulnerable situation right now I have have decided to make this video and hopefully some help will come from it the video will be divided in different chapters to give a better understanding of The Wider story but in case you already know who is Paul Watson and you already know about his arrest and you would like to jump directly to the usually many kids see as Heroes imaginary characters like Batman Spider-Man Superman and many others but how about real people who devoided their life the entire life or a big part of their life to protect real lives species who cannot defend themselves how about these real heroes and the best part is that one day they could be real heroes themselves so would not be more fair for kids to see us Heroes real people who save real lives so you see Paul Watson is definitely one of these Heroes among many accomplishments and words Paul Watson is mainly a defender of maring wildlife and I would say planet Earth in general because as he correctly quotes if oceans die we die playable carries four police officers armed with uh machine guns here G uh Bombs over it's policemen why are they ask [Music] you and by the way I never met Paul Watson in person but he's an inspiration for many people I personally done three operations with his previous organization which is called she sheeper conservation society and in case you ever wonder who filmed this video yes it was me you might hear my voice a bit strange it's because I recently got a cold actually last night I only get few hours of sleep in case I will make any errors please be understanding but in the end it was really important to me to create this video and trying to be helpful on 21 of July 2024 Captain Paul Watson was ambushed and arrested by the Danish police on his arrival in Nuke which is the capital of Greenland so he was on board the vessel JN Paul deura together with 25 volunteer crew members and they stopped nuke to refuel because basically they were on their way through the northern passage to the northern side of the Pacific Ocean and they were there because it was the beginning of the operation kimaru to stop illegal whing made by the Japanese the uh initiation of operation kanji Maru we're setting our sights on probably the greatest threat to whales worldwide and that's the uh recently launched KJ Maru the world's largest fre will processing patri vessel it's operating right now off the coast of Japan it could be in the North Pacific but we have to get to the Pacific shortest route to the uh North Pacific is through the Northwest Passage so the people in charge of the regulation who should protect the whales are the international whing commission or IWC established in 1946 and today 88 members countries are part of it so officially commercial whaling is illegal commercial wailing was banned in 1986 but a piece of the law allows for a certain number of whales to be killed each year in the name of scientific research the Japanese write research on the side of the ship because they're trying to tell everybody that their commercial alien oper operation is a research whing it's just a big facade really and of course that's why it's in English you know they don't care about telling the Japanese that it's research the Japanese know better the Japanese dispute this and claim they are researching migration population and dietary habits and they even hold up signs for the conservationist [Music] cameras so according to the information received around a dozen of Danish police and SWAT they board The Vessel and they arrested Paul Watson maybe could you describe us a little bit the day you were arrested what did you feel well I wasn't really uh I didn't really think I would be arrested because my name is no longer on the interpo red notice and that was back in November that was gone it was taken off I had lawyers checked into it not there so what Japan did was they issued a special red notice specifically to Denmark only and so they knew that we were going to go through the Northwest Passage we had to refuel in Greenland so that's why they uh issued it to Denmark so I was quite surprised uh when we came into nuk and know suddenly 14 Danish police officers boarded they were very aggressive uh one of them came up to me and just grabbed me like this and pulled me out of the seat and uh you know there's uh they said we're here to arrest you I said what are you arresting me for and he said you'll find out pulled me off and and handcuffed me and put me down the uh you know walk me down to the and put me into the car and then brought me directly here [Music] they're trying to portray me as some sort of dangerous crimin in fact the police officers who arrested me said that I was a dangerous uh terrorist and uh that when they pulled me away so Denmark is a beautiful country located around 3,200 km away from nuke but what they have to do with Greenland oh in case you didn't know Greenland is a North American Island which is huge by the way and it is an autonomous territory but part of the Kingdom of Denmark so autonomous territory but still belonging to Denmark together with farro islands where in 2023 Paul Watson Foundation documented on the location where hundreds of pilot whales are killed every year [Music] so Captain PA Watson remains in custody and awaits a decision by the Danish Ministry of Justice on August 15th in regard to Japan's extradition request and on the 15th of August it was quite absurd to me considering the importance of this case the fact that you know Paul Watson has been denied the basic right to defend himself with evidence Paul was brought to court today in Nuke Greenland handcuffed and in immense pain when trying to exit the backseat of a PO van the entire court hearing was in Danish and Paul was not allowed to later which goes against the Danish law so in case you don't know and I didn't know Danish sounds a bit like that so definitely difficult to understand so how could you defend yourself if you're not even able to understand what they saying and the court refused to see video evidence of the wills War series that shows that the Japanese fabricated evidence this evidence is not only publicly available but also strongly refutes the charges against him so this evidence if allowed could significantly undermine the case being brought by the Japanese authorities so this video could be the key if simply the Danish authorities will accept to watch it and let's let's watch this video oh yeah so let's read now the judge's verdict Paul is being held in prison until September 5 pending the justice department decision on potential extradition to Japan well I just think that the judge in this case and uh wasn't really interested in making a decision the prosecutor seems to have U I don't know some sort of I think to me this is a big case for her and uh she wants to uh make her mark on it uh that's all I can think but uh I don't think any decision is going to be made in Greenland about the uh about this at all it has to come from the Danish government so you didn't have any hope to to be released yesterday no when you okay uh there's not much I can do about it uh have to accept that that's the the way it is but on the positive side it continues to put pressure on exposing illegal Japanese ongoing illegal Japanese whing activities and that's a good thing uh so I I have no problem with that at all as long as I'm in here people are going to be talking about what Japan has been doing doing illegally killing whales the cruelty of the whale hunt the illegality of the whale h this is the latest email I got from the Paul Watson foundation and they are basically three charges against him charge number one bodly injury anyone who injures the body of another is liable to imprisonment for up to 15 years or a fine of up to 500,000 Yen so basically in February 11th of 2010 two crew members of the Japanese whing vessel shaan Maru 2 fired paper spray at four anti- wailing activists in an inflatable boat the wind turned their weapon back on them but they claimed that a glass stink bomb injured them instead so that's the first charge which is related to this previous video and charge number two it's intrusion into boats and ships so on February 15 2010 New Zealand citizen Peter bitun cut a small net in order to board a shonan maruu so you guys might know this story so Peter batun gain entry onto the whing ship to request reimbursement from the Japanese Captain who ramed his vessel you know basically the adig of this vessel was cut into causing it to sink and that's the charge number two and the charge number three is conspiracy so if two or more person commit an offense together all persons are considered to be the main offenders so despite the destruction of his sheep Peter bitun was sent to prison in Japan and served a suspending sentence 4 months in jail 2 years suspending sentence and deportation under duress Peter confessed that Paul Watson ordered him to board a ship a claim he later retracted revealing the coercion he faced in Japan custody this fabricated confession added a conspiracy charge against Paul basically the Japanese you know tortur mentally Peter batun weeks of interrogations until he he confess something that you know wasn't true just so he can be released and go back to his family in New Zealand so Paul concluded his statement on the 15th of August 2024 with this affirmation it's obvious to me that Japan is seeking revenge for the international humiliation caused by the wh War TV series reporting our actions against illegal wailing but my two little boys need me more than Japan needs its revenge which makes a lot of sense you know these kids are very very young they need their father and hopefully PA Watson will get back to them very soon I think that my my children need me more than the Japanese need me need to seek revenge on me I mean what what do they hope to achieve by that you know they want to take me away from my children so that they can parade me around in Japan as a as a tropy for the to support their illegal alien activities and say look you know obviously the world agrees with us because they turned him over to us to punish and therefore what we're doing is [Music] right to be honest with you my impression is that extradition to Japan for Paul Wata truly means that we will never see Paul Watson again he's 73 years old at the moment and the whales and the ocean still needs
