how how how close can we walk to the aircraft can you take me as close as we're allowed to get oh right up to it okay all right all right cool all right modern military jets vintage warbirds and breathtaking aerobatics this Labor Day weekend the skies above Lake Ontario in Toronto will become the stage for the 75th Canadian International Air Show the longest running air show of its kind in North America it's years of work we're we're working together we're already working on 2025 and 2026 so it takes a lot of coordination the airlines are very supportive CU they help us with clearing the airspace so that we can get these amazing aircraft over Lake Ontario certainly the most advanced aircraft Mak an appearance will be by the F-22 Raptor from the US an aircraft in service right now across the globe specializing in delivering air dominance we specialize in air to a combat although it's a multi- fighter that can uh can drop bombs as well uh but we're anywhere in the world that needs that air dominance uh presence this one was fighting a fire 2 days ago also expected to take flight this water bomber expected to demo a real water drop for onlookers as I come around the back side of the aircraft you'll see the actual Scoops that we use to pick up the water and the Scoops come down like this this scoop is what fills the plane with water in 10 seconds under dirty cover here that's our fost static most of craft have it what does it do it's to uh take the air and they got the air speed by then and here it's like for the angle of attack so it tell the the aircraft the the angle you have in the air the pilot and maintenance crew chief of Canada's demo CFA team tell us our Fleet is in the middle of upgrades describing the aircraft as formidable the pilot adding the plane is still capable of stunning Maneuvers so I do like being there right on the edge um has it scared me a couple times yes but uh it's totally worth it for uh the thrill for the audience and for myself and coming all the way from the K the Royal Air Force's red arrows not unlike our snowbirds coming in to honor the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Air Force it is very much mutual respect people ask about competition and rivalry but it's not really that it's more we'll watch the snowbird show and we'll um we'll take pleasure in watching that and admire the way they go about their business and and hopefully they do the same for us and of course our very own snowbirds preparing to Dazzle audiences with their signature large formation flying but as always with a new routine you can do big graceful uh aerobotics with non airplanes and closed formation that's really what sets us apart from most uh other teams the lead technician explaining just how the iconic smoke Trails generated in flight are actually made this whole this guy right here and that guy over there these are the smoke tanks and we got lines that feed all the way to the back and as we go around to the back side I can even show you that so what happens is there's fluid that will go all the way up the back blast of the engine is hot enough which will essentially produce smoke the Canadian International Air show starts Saturday and runs through the weekend until Monday at Pearson International David zura City news
