legendary Nolan's reputation and success was The Dark Knight helped secure the film's 100 million s doll in advertising expenditure inception's Premiere was held in London on July 8th 2010 it was subconscious and extract information their latest Target s is impressed with Cobb's ability to layer multiple dreams within each other he offers to hire Cobb for the ostensibly possible job of implanting an idea into a person's subconscious performing Inception on Robert fiser the son of sat's competitor Morris Fisher with the idea to dissolve his father's company in return SED promises to clear Cobb's criminal status allowing him to return home to his children Cobb accepts the offer and assembles his team a forger named e a chemist named Yousef and a college student named aradne aradne is tasked with designing the dreams architecture something cob him self cannot do for fear of being sabotaged by his mind's projection of his late wife Mal Morris fiser dies and the team sedates Robert fiser into a three layer shared dream on an airplane to America bought by SED time on each layer runs slower than the layer above with one member staying behind on each to perform a music synchronized kick using the French song Nan gie regret Rene to awaken dreamers on all three levels simultaneously the team abducts Robert in a city on the first level but his trained subconscious projections attack them after sedo is wounded Cobb reveals that while dying in the dream would usually awaken dreamers Yousef sedatives will instead send them into limbo a world of infinite subconscious am impersonates Robert's Godfather Peter Browning to introduce the idea of an alternate will to dissolve the company Cobb tells ariadne that he and Mal entered limbo while experimenting with dream sharing experiencing 50 years in one night due to the time dilation with reality after waking up Mel still believed she was dreaming attempting to wake up she committed suicide and framed Cobb for her murder to force him to do the same Cobb fled the S leaving his children behind Yousef drives the team around the first level as they are sedated into the second level a hotel dreamed by Arthur Cobb persuades Robert that Browning has kidnapped him to stop the dissolution and that Cobb is a defensive projection leading Robert to another third level deeper as part of a rose to enter Robert's subconscious in the third level the team infiltrates an Alpine Fortress with a projection of Morris inside where the Inception itself can be performed however Yousef performs his kick Too Soon by driving off a bridge forcing Arthur and aims to improvise a new set of kicks synchronized with them hitting the water by rigging an elevator and the Fortress respectively with explosives Mal then appears and kills Robert before he can be subjected to the Inception and he and S are lost in limbo forcing Cobb and ariadne to Res rescue them in time for Robert's Inception and E's kick Cobb reveals that during their time in limbo Mal refused to return to reality Cobb had to convince her it was only a dream accidentally incepting in her the belief that the real world was still a dream Cobb makes peace with his part in Mel's death ariadne kills Mel's projection and wakes Robert up with a kick revived into the third level he discovers the planted idea his dying father telling him to create something for himself while Cobb searches for in limbo the others ride the synced kicks back to reality Cobb finds an aged s and reminds him of their agreement the dreamers all awaken on the plane and S makes a phone call arriving in Los Angeles Cobb passes the immigration checkpoint and his father-in-law accompanies him to his home cobb uses Mal's totem a top that spins indefinitely in a dream to test if he is indeed in the real world but he chooses not to observe the result and instead joins his children it's said that Christopher Nolan spent 10 years writing his screenplay for Inception that must have involved prodigious concentration like playing blindfold chest while walking a tight wire the film's hero tests a young Architect by challenging her to create a maze and Nolan test us with his own dazzling Maze We have to trust him that he can lead us through because much of the time we're lost and disoriented Nolan must have Rewritten this story time and again finding that every change had a ripple effect down through the whole fabric the story can either be told in a few sentences or not told at all here is a movie immune to spoilers if you knew how it ended that would tell you nothing unless you knew how it got there and telling you how it got there would produce bafflement the movie is all about process about fighting our way through enveloping sheets of reality and dream reality within dreams dreams without reality it's a breathtaking juggling act and noan may have considered his momento 2000 a warm-up he apparently started this screenplay while filming that one it was the story of a man with short-term memory loss and the story was told backwards like the hero of that film The viewer of inception is a drift in time and experience we can never even be quite sure what the relationship between dream time and real time is the hero explains that you can never remember the beginning of a dream and that dreams that seem to cover ours may only last a short time yes but you don't know that when you're dreaming and what if you're inside another man's dream how does your dream time sink with his what do you really know cob Leonardo DiCaprio is a corporate Raider of the highest order he infiltrates the minds of other men to steal their ideas now he is hired by a powerful billionaire to do the opposite to introduce an idea into a rival's mind and do it so well he believes it is his own this has never been done before our minds are as alert to foreign ideas as our immune system is to pathogens the rich man named sedok Ken waden makes him an offer he can't refuse an offer that would end cob forced Exile from home and family cob assembles a team and here the movie relies on the wellestablished procedures of all heist movies we meet the people he will need to work with Arthur Joseph Gordon levit his longtime associate EMS Tom Hardy a master at Deception Yousef delip r a master chemist and there is a new recruit Ari Adney Ellen Page a brilliant young architect who is a prodigy at creating spaces Cobb also goes to touch base with his father-in-law miles Michael Kain who who knows what he does and how he does it these days Michael Cain need only appear on a screen and we assume he's wiser than any of the other characters it's a gift but wait why does Cobb need an architect to create spaces and dreams he explains to her dreams have a shifting architecture as we all know where we seem to be has a way of Shifting Cobb's assignment is the Inception or birth or Wellspring of a new idea in the mind of another young billionaire Robert fiser Jr San Murphy air to his father's Empire s wants him to initiate ideas that will lead to the surrender of his rival's Corporation Cobb needs AR Adney to create a deceptive maze space in Fisher's dreams so that I think new thoughts can slip in unperceived is it a coincidence that aradne is named for the woman in Greek mythology who helped Theus Escape From The minotaur's Labyrinth Cobb tutors AR Adney on the world of dream infiltration the art of controlling dreams and navigating them Nolan uses this as a device for tutoring us as well and also as the occasion for some of the movie's astonishing special effects which seemed senseless in the trailer but now fit right in the most impressive to me takes place or seems to in Paris where the city literally rolls back on itself like a roll of lenium tile protecting Fisher are any number of gun wielding bodyguards who may be working like the mental equivalent of antibodies they seem alternatively real and figurative But whichever they are they lead to a great many gunfights Chase scenes and explosions which is the way movies depict conflict these days so skilled is Nolan that he actually got me involved in one of his chases when I thought I was relatively immune to scenes that have become so standard that was because I cared about who was chasing and being chased if you've seen any advertising at all for the film you know that its architecture has a way of disregarding gravity buildings tilt streets coil characters float this is all explained in the narrative the movie is a complexing Labyrinth without a simple through line and is sure to inspire truly endless analysis on the web Nolan helps us with an emotional thread the reason Cobb is motivated to risk the dangers of inception is because of grief and guilt involving his wife Mal Mar and Koda and their two children more I will not in a way cannot say kodia beautifully embodies the wife in an idealized way whether we are seeing Cobb's memories or his dreams is difficult to say even literally in the last shot but she makes function as an emotional magnet and the love between the two provides an emotional constant in Cobb's World which is otherwise ceaselessly shifting Inception works for the viewer in a way like the world itself worked for Leonard the hero of momento we are always in the now we have made some notes while getting here but we are not quite sure where here is yet matters of Life Death and the heart are involved o and those multinational corporations of course and Nolan doesn't pause before using well crafted scenes from spycraft or Espionage including a clever scheme on board is 747 even explaining why it must be a 747 the movies often seem to come from the recycling bin these days sequels remakes franchises Inception does a difficult thing it is wholly original cut from new cloth and yet structured with action movie Basics so it feels like it makes more sense than quite possibly it does I thought there was a hole in momento how does a man with short-term memory loss remember he has short-term memory loss maybe there's a hole in Inception too but I can't find it Christopher Nolan reinvented Batman this time he isn't Reinventing anything yet few directors will attempt to recycle Inception I think when Nolan left the Labyrinth he threw away the map with Christopher Nolan's new film tenant doomed to arrive like Achilles racing the tortoise in Zeno's Paradox approaching and approaching forever closing the Gap but never quite here it is an interesting time for has adored cerebro Tech Thriller Inception to get a re-release on streaming platforms it's a measure of Nolan's towering Prestige that a film made a mere 10 years ago can be eligible for classic reassessment status but there's also something disconcerting about it rightly or wrongly Nolan fans and the industry generally have been encouraged to believe in tenet as the morale boosting new dawn for postco theatrical life the flagship for Cinema as challenging spectacular entertainment so inevitably it looks as if in SE is somehow being offered as second best or is a warm-up act hustled hastily on stage to keep the audience quiet because the similar main event is still stuck in traffic miles away well Inception is still very impressive looking back I see that I found its Tech and technique dazzling but the narrative inert yet maybe that was not doing Justice to how staggering its fantasy set pieces were Leonardo DiCaprio plays a brain hacker of the future called Cobb an industrial Espionage mercenary who specializes in invading plutocrats dreaming Minds to steal commercially sensitive information he builds detailed complex imaginary worlds to seduce the dreamers into letting their subconscious guards down with the help of a super cool crew of forgers eems Tom Hardy Ari Adney Ellen Page and Arthur Joseph Gordon levit now a Japanese CEO sedok Ken waden wants to hire Cobb to implant a destructive idea inside the head of arrival fiser selian Murphy to do it Cobb devises a Triple Decker dream a dream within a Dream Within A Dream but the memory of his late wife Mal Mar and kodia will keep invading this synapse world for me despite all the cabrican Brilliance that Nolan often conjures There Is frequent narrative claustrophobia and I still think that it is only at the level of Waking Life that real drama and Jeopardy exist but those imagined worlds are breathtaking and in the decades since Inception came out I've seen nothing else come close it is impossible not to gasp when Cobb takes aradne for coffee in Paris and then shows her how malleable and adaptable an imagined City can be as for DiCaprio it is a slight shame that Nolan can't release in him the comic mischief and vulnerability that scors and Tarantino know how to find but that arguably isn't the point here it is a thriller and DiCaprio is the film's sleekest and sexiest piece of Kit watching this I found myself realizing how much I've missed seeing Paige in the Top Flight of movies over the past decade and also noticing how Hardy can sometimes look as pudgy as some bloke in a Hub and sometimes snap mysteriously into shape athletic as a future bond with this film Nolan virtually reinvented virtual reality Inception is truly One of a Kind a concept which is long just stated in Christopher Nolan's mind his eye for drama mixed with his large scale sensibilities ring true in Blockbuster season making Inception a true original in the sea of reboots remakes and sequels to try and explain inceptions many plot twists and Incredibly intelligent arcs would be a foolish task as Nolan himself has been reluctant to the best way to approach the film would be with an open mind if you are prepared to be taken on a ride of a lifetime then trust that you 100% will if Avatar was a seminal film in technology although coming out as a rather poor film in my opinion then Inception is seminal in its storytelling with a 148 minute running time you would expect a lot to take place but what you wouldn't expect is the pace of it all did not think at one time in the film about how long was left was simply Blown Away by the depth in every single part of the film if my enthusiasm for the storytelling aspect of the film has left you worried about the spectacle then don't worry they are as hinted in the trailer incredible looking real and unbelievable simultaneously the most pleasing thing about the action set pieces is that they are genuinely used to illustrate the story rather than to blow stuff up Alam Michael Bay with this complex movie and its high concept a stellar cast is needed and Nolan as always delivers with just that this is vintage DiCaprio perhaps only equaled in The Aviator which is even more impressive as his role as Cobb in Inception is not a showy one needing DiCaprio to be the constant at the center of the film and he pulls off Cobb's emotional contradictions sublimely the rest of the cast members all shine in parts of the films selian Murphy shows off his usually non-existent tender side Gordon levit bottles his usual charm for his confidently reserved turn as the reliable Arthur wab is devilish as the seemingly ambiguous sedo Paige shows why she's the next big female star and Tom Hardy Revels in being the comic relief of the film compared to his recent turns as decidedly Psychopathic characters overall Nolan has indeed surpassed himself he has created a world as expansive as his Gotham a plot dwarfing the intricacies of momento and one which blows the prestigious cinematic reveal out of the water this is true truly unamiable Cinema Revel in it we've still got to wait a whole 2 years surrealism can appear to be ineffably bizarre or inquisitively titillating depending purely on the viewer's intellect though the realm of surrealism is highly nebulous and complex but even a slight attempt at improvisation can sometimes go Ary and open a Pandora's Box making the task highly improbable and N impossible this facet of reality May pose a handicap to the most gifted of the directors but not to the genius of Christopher Nolan who not only dabbles with the concept of surrealism but also ingeniously Blends it with the elements of Science Fiction in his latest Wonder named Inception Nolan created a niche for himself a decade back by unleashing a monster of a movie called momento he further substantiated his status by Conjuring movies like insomnia The Prestige Batman Begins and The Dark Knight his unremitting desire for Innovation and uncanny craving to foray into the unexplored Realms of imagination deservedly earned him an autour tag which gave him the cart blanch that a Storyteller like Nolan desperately needs it's highly apparent that Nolan takes every possible advantage of this Liberty while filming Inception Inception is not only dreamlike but is a dream in itself and is superior to any other thing conceived on the Silver Screen with its entwined layers the movie for the most part serves as an unfathomable riddle and makes multiple viewing extremely essential it incredibly does extremely well on both the humanistic as well as the the technical fronts in fact the balance between human emotions and the elements of Science Fiction is so adequate that it's impossible to separate them the movie is about a futuristic world where the human mind can be intercepted through dream Invasion cob is an expert in the art of extracting information stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious in the dream state his Proficiency in extraction is marred by a turmoil that begins with his wife's untimely death he is forced to live the life of a fugitive away from his children his only chance for Redemption lies with a Japanese Tycoon named sedu who wants him to do an Inception planting information into someone's mind in order to accomplish this unprecedented task Cobb and his team must overcome a Labyrinth of unforeseeable challenges where even a slight Miss could trap them in a Perpetual limbo any further Revelation would be remissness on my part as the plot is filled with such intricacies that even expatiation would be incapable of justifying its profundity Leonardo DiCaprio gives a solid performance in the lead role following his memorable performance in Shuter Island he has brilliantly depicted the complexities and limitations of Cobb's enigmatic character highlighting his pain and mental trauma Maran kodia is ravishingly scintillating as Cobb's Whimsical wife Mel the rest of the cast has given a thorough performance with special mention of Ken wab Ellen pagee and Joseph Gordon L it Inception is incredibly brilliant as a movie and is a breakthrough in contemporary Cinema Nolan's creativity and his unparalleled execution definitely make it an object of great cache but whether it would become bu's unen andelo or Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey and serve as a prototype for the movies to come is for the time to decide irrespectively Inception is sign Quan Nan not only for an efficient Auto but also for the average viewer who is willing to delve deep enough to savor the Delight Inception was released in both conventional and ax theaters on July 16th 2010 the film had its World premiere at Lester Square in London on July 8th 2010 in the United States and Canada Inception was released theatrically in 3792 conventional theaters and 195 IMX theaters the film grows 21.8 million dollars during its opening day on July 16th 2010 with midnight screenings in w500 locations overall the film made 62.7 million s doll and debuted at no one on its opening weekend inception's opening weekend gross made it the second highest grossing debut for a science fiction film that was not a sequel remake or adaptation behind Avatar is77 million doll opening weekend gross in 29 the film held the top spot of the box office rankings in its second and third weekends with drops of just 32% 42.7 million s doll and 36% 27.5 million dollar respectively before dropping to second place in its fourth week behind the other guys Inception initially gross $292 million s doll in the United States and Canada 56 million s dollars in the United Kingdom Ireland and Malta and $479 million s Dollar in other countries for a total of $828 million s dollar worldwide its five highest grossing markets after the US and Canada $292 million s doll where China $68 million s the United Kingdom Ireland and Malta 56 million s France and the magreb region 43 million s doll japan4 million s dollar and South Korea S1 38 million it was the sixth highest grossing film of 2010 in North America and the fourth highest grossing film of 2010 behind Toy Story 3 Alice and Wonderland and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part one its subsequent re-releases increased its gross to 839 million SAR Inception is the fourth most lucrative production in Christopher Nolan's career behind the dark night The Dark Knight Rises in Oppenheimer and the second most for Leonardo DiCaprio behind Titanic when the rain soaked cars enter the warehouse the floor already has wet tire tracks evidently from a previous take once they stop and the people exit the floor behind the cab and back towards the door is dry in the first scene sat spins Cobbs totem clockwise when the same scene is shown at the end of the movie the totem spins anticlockwise counterclockwise when Arthur arrives in the hotel to get Cobb for their ride on the roof it is dark outside when they are out on the roof it is around noon in the warehouse scene between Cobb and aradne a Nikon DSLR camera on a desk behind Cobb disappears and reappears between shots in the warehouse while Cobb and the team are talking about the idea of inception Cobb rolls up his sleeve then starts rolling up the next sleeve the camera Cuts away then moves back to Cobb who is rolling up his sleeves again when Ari Adney and Cobb are at the cafe a man in a yellow jacket passes behind Cobb the camera switches back and forth between Cobb and ariadne several times when it switches back to cob The Man in the Yellow Jacket passes once again the person in the jacket is a projection and based on what the movie explains projections behave a lot like extras this means the same projection May reappear like that when the bus on the bridge hits the guard rail it flies horizontally for some time but the passengers immediately become weightless that is correct weightlessness is caused by acceleration not speed falling is a vertical acceleration and gravity will immediately cause the bus to fall as soon as it is no longer supported by the bridge the characters dream during a 10-hour flight from Sydney to Los Angeles on a Boeing 747 in real life a 747 flight from Sydney to LAX takes at least 13.5 hours the characters need 10 hours to complete the Inception regardless of how long the flight takes on the flight from Sydney to LAX a flight attendant gives Cobb a white I94 Immigration Form for people coming to the US on a Visa US citizens only need to fill out a smaller blue customs declaration form Cobb clearly declines the white form the flight attendant also offers fiser and I94 he takes it and sets it down fiser is an Australian citizen his passport is visible when he sits down and Cobb looks at it Australia is a member of the Visa waiver program so Australians do not need a visa to visit the US however flight attendants regularly give immigration forms to passengers who don't need them plus depending on Fischer's position in his father's company his visit could require a B1 visitor for business L1 inra company transfer or E12 treaty trat investor visa when the train engine hits the cars it is clearly affected by the mass of the cars it pushes and its bouncing movements suggest some form of suspension or rubber Wheels a real Freight engine weighs more than 100 metric tons far more than the cars it hits it would not give way or bounce when hitting cars however the train appears in a dream so the laws of physics may not apply further indication of this is that the Train's wheels are shown running on non-existing Rails in under the asphalt in real life it would not continue in a straight line when Ari Adney starts changing her first dream with Cobb she steps over an invisible step probably a part of a green screen each time she moves a mirror when ariadne is asked by Cobb to draw a maze she draws two that are easy to get out of but she draws a third that's impossible the only two ways out of the maze from the center are dead ends in the falling van Arthur is sleeping without the headphones that were placed on his head the headphones reappear before the van hits the water one car explosion is shown twice first the car explodes in a fireball filling the frame minutes later the same car explodes in the same Fireball but is part of a bigger shot from further away in the bottom half of the frame when the white van emerges from the warehouse the passenger side mirror strikes the warehouse door in the next shot of the van's exterior the passenger side mirror is fully extended and instead the driver's side mirror is flipped back in subsequent shots the correct mirror is flipped back when Cobb confronts Mal at the hotel in front of the open window with billowing curtains a crew member's fingertips can be seen through the sheer fabric when Arthur arrives in the hotel to get for their ride on the roof the reflection of the window reveals a moving boom pole possibly a cand and the boom operator himself it was very silly of Cobb to insist that ariadne reveal her faster route to him he should have just asked her whether she had a faster route and when she replied in the affirmative told her to inform e and e alone of this route's specific location this would ensure that Mel could not show up to throw a spanner in the works one newspaper article about the strained relationship between MO and Robert fiser misspells success with only one C and uses the phrase emminent death instead of imminent death Dom slipped the sedative into Fisher drink on the plane the flight attendant who was in on the plot could have slipped it in beforehand with much less chance of detection both Cobb and IM mispronounced the name mumbasa as mumbasa if im lived there he would know this some characters pronounce sato's name as satto whereas others say Saito 13 years later and Christopher Nolan is still being hounded with questions about the ending of inception his acclaimed 2010 action thriller about a group of criminals who pull off a dream Heist the ending is notorious Leonardo DiCaprio's cob has completed his task and returns home to his children but the film lingers on his spinning Totum top as it begins to wobble cut to Black if the top spins indefinitely Cobb is still dreaming if it falls Cobb is awake in the real world movie A goers have spent over a decade debating whether or not Cobb is awake or dreaming at the end of inception but Nolan recently said on the happy sad confused podcast that such debates are missing the endings real takeaway cob doesn't care I went through a phase where I was asked that a lot Nolan said when the topic of the Inception ending came up I think it was producer Emma Thomas who pointed out the correct answer which is Leo's character the point of the shot is the character doesn't care at that point it's not a question I comfortably answer there is a nihilistic view of that ending right but also he's moved on and is with his kids Nolan added to wired earlier this month the ambiguity is not an emotional ambiguity it's an intellectual one for the audience whether or not cobs top keeps spinning or falls on the table has no effect on the emotional conclusion of inception which for Nolan is where the heart of the story is Cobb has made it home to his kids the character's emotional journey is complete thus he doesn't even care to check if his top spins or Falls other Inception cast members have weighed in on the debate over the years Michael Kain once famously shared when I got the script of inception I was a bit puzzled by it and I said to Nolan I don't understand where the dream is I said when is it the dream and when is it reality he said well when you're in the scene it's reality so get that if I'm in it it's reality if I'm not in it it's a dream since kan's character appears in the film's final scene the actor always thought that men Cobb was in the real world and his top would fall on the table in a recent interview with Insider Nolan said watching the ending of inception with fans is a memory that has stayed with him in terms of sitting with a crowd and experiencing the end of the film Inception was a very unique type of ending Nolan said if I would sneak into the back of the theater when it was playing and we would get to the end there would be a tremendous sort of gasp groans frustrations it was an incredible mixture and I would feel very much like I need to get out of here before anybody notices I'm there so that was a pretty remarkable ending to sit through with audiences over the years he added Nolan's latest directorial effort Oppenheimer is now playing in theaters Nation one Inception is a 2010 science fiction action frequent narrative claustrophobia and I still think that it is only at the level of Waking Life that real drama and Jeopardy exist but those imagined worlds are breathtaking and in the decades since Inception came out I've seen nothing else come close it is impossible not to gasp when Cobb takes aradne for coffee in Paris and then sh shows her how malleable and adaptable an imagined City can be as for DiCaprio it is a slight shame that Nolan can't release in him the comic mischief and vulnerability that scores and Tarantino know how to find but that arguably isn't the point here it is a thriller and DiCaprio is the film's sleekest and sexiest piece of Kit watching this I found myself realizing how much I've missed seeing Paige in the Top Flight of movies over the past decade and also noticing how Hardy can sometimes look as pudgy as some bloke in a pub and sometimes snaap mysteriously into shape athletic as a future bond with this film Nolan virtually reinvented virtual reality Inception is truly oneof a kind a concept which has long just stated in Christopher Nolan's mind his eye for drama mixed with his large scale sensibilities ring true in Blockbuster season making Inception a true original in the sea of reboots remakes and sequels to try and explain inceptions many plot twists and Incredibly intelligent arcs would be a foolish task as Nolan himself has been reluctant to the best way to approach the film would be with an open mind if you are prepared to be taken on a ride of a lifetime then trust that you 100% will if Avatar was a seminal film in technology although coming out as a rather poor film in my opinion then Inception is seminal in its storytelling with a 148 minute running time you would expect a lot to take place but what you wouldn't expect is the pace of it all did not think at one time in the film about how long was left was simply Blown Away by the depth in every single part of the film if my enthusiasm for the storytelling aspect of the film has left you worried about the spectacle then don't worry they are as hinted in the trailer incredible looking real and unbelievable simultaneously the most pleasing thing about the action set pieces is that they are genuinely used to illustrate the story rather than to blow stuff up Alam Michael Bay with this complex movie and its high concept a stellar cast is needed and Nolan as always delivers with just that this is vintage DiCaprio perhaps only equaled in The Aviator which is even more impressive as his role as cob in Inception is not a showy one needing DiCaprio to be the constant at the center of the film and he pulls off Cobbs emotional contradictions sublimely the rest of the cast members all shine in parts of the films selian Murphy shows off his usually non-existent tender side Gordon levit bottles his usual charm for his confidently reserved turn as the reliable Arthur wab is devilish as the seemingly ambiguous s Paige shows why she's the next big female star and Tom Hardy Revels in being the comic relief of the film compared to his recent turns as decidedly Psychopathic characters overall Nolan has indeed surpassed himself he has created a world as expansive as his Gotham a plot dwarfing the intricacies of momento and one which blows the prestigious cinematic reveal out of the water this is truly UNAM Cinema Revel in it we've still got to wait a whole 2 years surrealism can appear to be ineffably bizarre or inquisitively titillating depending purely on the viewer's intellect though the realm of surrealism is highly nebulous and complex but even a slight attempt at improvisation can sometimes go arai and open a Pandora's Box making the task highly improbable and N impossible this facet of reality May pose a handicap to the most gifted of the directors but not to the genius of Christopher Nolan who not only dabbles with the concept of surrealism but also ingeniously Blends it with the elements of Science Fiction in his latest Wonder named Inception Nolan created a niche for himself a decade back by unleashing a monster of a movie called momento he further substantiated his status by Conjuring movies like insomnia The Prestige Batman Begins and The Dark Knight his unremitting desire for Innovation and uncanny craving to foray into the unexplored Realms of imagination deservedly earned him an autour bag which gave him the cart blanch that a Storyteller like Nolan desperately needs it's highly apparent that Nolan takes every possible advantage of this Liberty while filming Inception Inception is not only dreamlike but is a dream in itself and is superior to any other thing conceived on the Silver Screen with its entwined layers the movie for the most part serves as an unfathomable riddle and makes multiple viewing extremely essential it incredibly does extremely well on both the humanistic as well as the technical front in fact the balance between human emotions and the elements of Science Fiction is so adequate that it's impossible to separate them the movie is about a futuristic world where the human mind can be intercepted through dream Invasion Cobb is an expert in the art of extracting information stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious in the dream state his Proficiency in extraction is marred by a turmoil that begins with his wife's untimely death he is forced to live the life of a fugitive away from his children children his only chance for Redemption lies with a Japanese Tycoon named sedu who wants him to do an Inception planting information into someone's mind in order to accomplish this unprecedented task Cobb and his team must overcome a Labyrinth of unforeseeable challenges where even a slight Miss could trap them in a Perpetual limbo any further Revelation would be remissness on my part as the plot is filled with such intricacies that even expatiation would be incapable of justifying its profundity Leonardo DiCaprio gives a solid performance in the lead role following his memorable performance in Shuter Island he has brilliantly depicted the complexities and limitations of Cobb's enigmatic character highlighting his pain and mental trauma Marian kodia is ravishingly scintillating as Cobb's Whimsical wife Mel the rest of the cast has given a thorough performance with special mention of Ken wab Ellen pagee and Joseph Gordon L it Inception is incredibly brilliant as a movie and is a breakthrough in contemporary Cinema noan creativity and his unparalleled execution definitely make it an object of great cache but whether it would become bu's unen andelo or Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey and serve as a prototype for the movies to come is for the time to decide irrespectively Inception is sign qua Nan not only for an efficient Auto but also for the average viewer who is willing to delve deep enough to savor the Delight Inception was released in both conventional and ax theaters on July 16th 2010 the film had its World premiere at Lester Square in London on July 8th 2010 in the United States and Canada Inception was released theatrically in 3792 conventional theaters and 195 IM Max gross to $839 million s do Inception is the fourth most lucrative production in Christopher Nolan's career Behind The Dark Knight the The Dark Knight Rises in Oppenheimer and the second most for Leonardo DiCaprio behind Titanic when the rain soaked cars enter the warehouse the floor already has wet tire tracks evidently from a previous take once they stop and the people exit the floor behind the cab and back towards the door is dry in the first scene s spins cobs totem clockwise when the same scene is shown at the end of the movie the totem spins anticlockwise counterclockwise when Arthur arrives in the hotel to get cobs for their ride on the roof it is dark outside when they are out on the roof it is around noon in the warehouse scene between Cobb and aradne a Nikon DSLR camera on a desk behind Cobb disappears and reappears between shots in the warehouse while Cobb and the team are talking about the idea of inception Cobb rolls up his sleeve then starts rolling up the next sleeve the camera Cuts away then moves back to Cobb who is rolling up his sleeves again when Ari Adney and Cobb are at the cafe a man in a yellow jacket passes behind Cobb the camera switches back and forth between Cobb and ariadne several times when it switches back to Cobb The Man in the Yellow Jacket passes once again the person in the jacket is a projection and based on what the movie explains projections behave a lot like extras this means the same projection May reappear like that when the bus on the bridge hits the guard rail it flies horizontally for some time but the passengers immediately become weightless that is correct weightlessness is caused by acceleration not speed falling is a vertical acceleration and gravity will immediately cause the bus to fall as soon as it is no longer supported by the bridge the characters dream during a 10-hour flight from Sydney to Los Angeles on a Boeing 747 in real life a 747 flight from Sydney to LAX takes at least 13.5 hours the characters need 10 hours to complete the Inception regardless of how long the flight takes on the flight from Sydney to LAX a flight attendant gives Cobb a white i 94 Immigration Form for people coming to the US on a Visa US citizens only need to fill out a smaller blue customs declaration form Cobb clearly declines the white form the flight attendant also offers fiser in I94 he takes it and sets it down Fischer is an Australian citizen his passport is visible when he sits down and cob looks at it Australia is a member of the Visa waiver program so Australians do not need a visa to visit the US however flight attendants regularly give immigration forms to passengers who don't need them plus depending on Fischer's position in his father's company his visit could require a B1 visitor for business L1 inra compan transfere or E12 treaty trat investor visa when the train engine hits the cars it is clearly affected by the mass of the cars it pushes and its bouncing movements suggest some form of suspension or rubber Wheels a real Freight engine weighs more than 100 metric tons far more than the cars it hits it would not give way or bounce when hitting cars however the train appears in a dream so the laws of physics may not apply further indication of this is that the Train's wheels are shown running on nonexisting Rails in under the asphalt in real life it would not continue in a straight line when ariadne starts changing her first dream with cob she steps over an invisible step probably a part of a green screen each time she moves a mirror when ariadne is asked by Cobb to draw a maze she draws two that are easy to get out of but she draws a third that's impossible the only two ways out of the maze from the center are dead ends in the falling van Arthur is sleeping without the headphones that were placed on his head the headphones reappear before the van hits the water one car explosion is shown twice first the car explodes in a fireball filling the frame minutes later the same car explodes in the same Fireball but as part of a bigger shot from further F away in the bottom half of the frame when the white van emerges from the warehouse the passenger side mirror strikes the warehouse door in the next shot of the van's exterior the passenger side mirror is fully extended and instead the driver's side mirror is flipped back in subsequent shots the correct mirror is flipped back when Cobb confronts Mal at the hotel in front of the open window with billowing curtains a crew members fingertips can be seen through the sheer fabric when Arthur arrives in the hotel to get Cobb for their ride on the roof the reflection of the window reveals a moving boom pole possibly a cand and the boom operator himself it was very silly of Cobb to insist that ariadne reveal her faster route to him he should have just asked her whether she had a faster route and when she replied in the affirmative told her to inform e and EM alone of this route's specific location this would ensure that Mel could not show up to throw a spanner in the works one newspaper article about the strained relationship between Morris and Robert Fisher misspells success with only one C and uses the phrase emminent death instead of imminent death Dom slipped the sedative into Fisher's drink on the plane the flight attendant who was in on the plot could have slipped it in beforehand with much less chance of detection both Cobb and IM mispronounced the name mumbasa as mumbasa if im lived there he would know this some characters pronounce sat's name as Sato whereas others say Saito 13 years later and Christopher Nolan is still being hounded with questions about the ending of inception his acclaimed 2010 action thriller about a group of criminals who pull off a dream Heist the ending is notorious Leonardo DiCaprio's cob has completed his task and returns home to his children but the film lingers on his spinning totem top as it begins to wobble cut to Black if the top spins indefinitely Cobb is still dreaming if it falls Cobb is awake in the real world movie aers have spent over a decade debating whether or not Cobb is awake or dreaming at the end of Inception but Nolan recently said on the happy sad confused podcast that such debates are missing the endings real takeaway cob doesn't care I went through a phase where I was asked that a lot Nolan said when the topic of the Inception ending came up I think it was producer Emma Thomas who pointed out the correct answer which is Leo's character the point of the shot is the character doesn't care at that point it's not a question I comfortably answer there is a nihilistic view of that ending right but also he's moved on and is with his kids Nolan added to wired earlier this month the ambiguity is not an emotional ambiguity it's an intellectual one for the audience whether or not Cobb's top keeps spinning or falls on the table has no effect on the emotional conclusion of inception which for noan is where the heart of the story is Cobb has made it home to his kids the character's emotional journey is complete thus he doesn't even care to check if his top spins or Falls other Inception cast members have weighed in on the debate over the years Michael Kain once famously shared when I got the script of inception I was a bit puzzled by it and I said to Nolan I don't understand where the dream is I said when is it the dream and when is it reality he said well when you're in the scene it's reality so get that if I'm in it it's reality if I'm not in it it's a dream since Kane's character appears in the film's final scene the actor always thought that men Cobb was in the real world and his top would fall on the table in a recent interview with Insider Nolan said watching the ending of inception with fans is a memory that has stayed with him in terms of sitting with a crowd and experiencing the end of the film Inception was a very unique type of ending Nolan said if I would sneak into the back of the theater when it was playing and we would get to the end there would be a tremendous sort of gasp groans frustrations it was an incredible mixture and I would feel very much like I need to get out of here before anybody notices I'm there so that was a pretty remarkable ending to sit through with audiences over the years he added Nolan's latest directorial effort Oppenheimer is now playing in theaters Nation Inception is a 2010 science fiction action film written and directed by Christopher Nolan who also produced it with Emma Thomas his wife the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a professional Thief who steals information by infiltrating the subconscious of his targets he has offered a chance to have his criminal history erased as payment for the implantation of another person's idea into a Target subconscious the ensemble cast includes Ken wab Joseph Gordon levit Maran Koda Elliot page Tom Hardy selian Murphy Tom Behringer delip Ral and Michael Kain after the 2002 completion of insomnia Nolan presented to Warner Bros a written 80-page treatment for a horror film envisioning dream Steelers based on lucid dreaming deciding he needed more experience before tackling a production of this magnitude and complexity Nolan shelf the project project and instead worked on 2005's Batman Begins 26's The Prestige and 2008's The Dark Knight the treatment was revised over 6 months and was purchased by Warner in February 209 Inception was filmed in six countries beginning in Tokyo on June 19th and ending in Canada on November 22nd its official budget was $160 million split between Warner Bros and legendary Nolan's reputation and Success With The Dark Knight helped secure the film's 100 million s dollars in advertising expenditure inception's Premiere was held in London on July 8th 2010 it was released in both conventional and Amax theaters beginning on July 16 2010 Inception grossed over 837 million worldwide becoming the fourth highest grossing film of 2010 considered one of the best films of the 2010s Inception 14 Oscar's best cinematography best sound editing best sound mixing best visual effects and was nominated for four more best picture best original screenplay best art Direction best original score at the 83rd Academy Awards cob and Arthur are extractors who perform corporate Espionage using experimental dream sharing technology to infiltrate their target subconscious and extract information their latest Target s is impressed with Cobb's ability to layer multiple dreams within each other he offers to hire Cobb for the ostensibly impossible job of implanting an idea into a person's subconscious performing Inception on Robert fiser the son of sat's competitor Morris fiser with the idea to dissolve his father's company in return sedo promises to clear Cobb's criminal status allowing him to return home to his children Cobb accepts the offer and assembles his team a forger named e a chemist named Yousef and a college student named ariadne ariadne is tasked with designing the dreams architecture something cob himself cannot do for fear of being sabotaged by his mind's projection of his late wife Mal Morris fiser dies and the team sedates Robert fiser into a three-layer shared dream on an airplane to America bought by SED time on each layer runs slower than the layer above with one member staying behind on each to perform a music synchronized kick using the French song Nan Genie regret Rene to awaken dreamers on all three levels simultaneously the team abducts Robert in a city on the first level but his trained subconscious project jections attack them after sedo is wounded Cobb reveals that while dying in the dream would usually awaken dreamers yousef's sedatives will instead send them into limbo a world of infinite subconscious em impersonates Robert's Godfather Peter Browning to introduce the idea of an alternate will to dissolve the company Cobb tells ariadne that he and Mal entered limbo while experimenting with dream sharing experiencing 50 years in one night due to the time dilation with reality after waking up Mel still believed she was dreaming attempting to wake up she committed suicide and framed Cobb for her murder to force him to do the same Cobb fled the S leaving his children behind Yousef drives the team around the first level as they are sedated into the second level a hotel dreamed by Arthur Cobb persuades Robert that Browning has kidnapped him to stop the dissolution and that Cobb is a defensive projection leading Robert to another third level deeper as part of a ruse to enter Robert's subconscious in the third level the te infiltrates an Alpine Fortress with a projection of Morris inside where the Inception itself can be performed however Yousef performs his kick Too Soon by driving off a bridge forcing Arthur and aims to improvise a new set of kicks synchronized with them hitting the water by rigging an elevator and the Fortress respectively with explosives Mal then appears and kills Robert before he can be subjected to the Inception and he and SED are lost in limbo forcing Cobb and ariadne to rescue them in time for Roberts and Inception and 's kick Cobb reveals that during their time in limbo Mal refused to return to reality Cobb had to convince her it was only a dream accidentally incepting in her the belief that the real world was still a dream Cobb makes peace with his part in Mel's death ariadne kills M's projection and wakes Robert up with a kick revived into the third level he discovers the planted idea his dying father telling him to create something for himself while cob searches for SED in limbo the other ride the synced kicks back to reality Cobb finds an aged s and reminds him of their agreement the dreamers all awaken on the plane and S makes a phone call arriving in Los Angeles Cobb passes the immigration checkpoint and his father-in-law accompanies him to his home cobb uses Mal's totem a top that spins indefinitely in a dream to test if he is indeed in the real world but he chooses not to observe the result and instead joins his children it's said that Christopher Nolan spent 10 years writing his screenplay for Inception that must have involved prodigious concentration like playing blindfold chess while walking a tight wire the film's hero tests a young Architect by challenging her to create a maze and Nolan tests us with his own dazzling Maze We have to trust him that he can lead us through because much of the time we're lost and disoriented Nolan must have in him the comic mischief and vulnerability that scores and Tarantino know how to find but that arguably isn't the point here it is a thriller and DiCaprio is the film's sleekest and sexiest piece of Kit watching this I found myself realizing how much I've missed seeing Paige in the Top Flight of movies over the past decade and also noticing how Hardy can sometimes look as pudgy as some bloke in a pub and sometimes snap mysteriously into shape athletic as a future bond with this film Nolan virtually reinvented virtual reality Inception is truly One of a Kind a concept which has long just stated in Christopher Nolan's mind his eye for drama mixed with his large scale sensibilities ring true in Blockbuster season making Inception a true original in the sea of reboots remakes and sequels to try and explain inceptions many plot twists and Incredibly intelligent arcs would be a foolish task as Nolan himself has been reluctant to the best way to approach the film would be with an open mind if you are prepared to be taken on a ride of a lifetime then trust that you 100% will if Avatar was a seminal film in technology although coming out as a rather poor film in my opinion then Inception is seminal in its storytelling with a 148 minute running time you would expect a lot to take place but what you wouldn't expect is the pace of it all did not think at one time in the film about how long was left was simply Blown Away by the depth in every single part of the film if my enthusiasm for the storytelling aspect of the film has left you worried about the spectacle then don't worry they are as hinted in the trailer incredible looking real and unbelievable simultaneously the most pleasing thing about the action set pieces is that they are genuinely used to illustrate the story rather than to blow stuff up Alam Michael Bay with this complex movie and its high concept a stellar cast is needed and Nolan as always delivers with just that this is vintage DiCaprio perhaps only equaled in The Aviator which is even more impressive as his role as cob and Inception is not a showy one needing DiCaprio to be the constant at the center of the film and he pulls off Cobbs emotional contradictions sublimely the rest of the cast members all shine in parts of the films selian Murphy shows off his usually non-existent tender side Gordon levit bottles his usual charm for his confidently reserved turn as the the reliable Arthur wab is devilish as the seemingly ambiguous sedo Paige shows why she's the next big female star and Tom Hardy Revels in being the comic relief of the film compared to his recent turns as decidedly Psychopathic characters overall Nolan has indeed surpassed himself he has created a world as expansive as his Gotham a plot dwarfing the intricacies of momento and one which blows the prestigious cinematic reveal out of the water this is truly unamiable Cinema Revel in it we've still got to wait a whole two years surrealism can appear to be ineffably bizarre or inquisitively titillating depending purely on the viewer's intellect though the realm of surrealism is highly nebulous and complex but even a slight attempt at improvisation can sometimes go Ary and open a Pandora's Box making the task highly improbable and N impossible this facet of reality May pose a handicap to the most gifted of the directors but not to the genius of Christopher Nolan who not only dabbles with the concept of surrealism but also ingeniously Blends it with the elements of Science Fiction in his latest Wonder named Inception Nolan created a niche for himself a decade back by unleashing a monster of a movie called momento he further substantiated his status by Conjuring movies like insomnia The Prestige Batman Begins and The Dark Knight his unremitting desire for Innovation and uncanny craving to foray into the unexplored Realms of imagination deservedly earned him an aour tag which gave him the cart blanch that a Storyteller like Nolan desperately needs it's highly apparent that Nolan takes every possible advantage of this Liberty while filming Inception Inception is not only dreamlike but is a dream in itself and is superior to any other thing conceived on the Silver Screen with its entwined layers the movie for the most part serves as an unfathomable riddle and makes multiple viewing extremely essential it incredibly does extremely well on both the humanistic as well as the technical fronts in fact the balance between human emotions and the elements of Science Fiction is so adequate that it's impossible to separate them the movie is about a futuristic world where the human mind can be intercepted through dream Invasion Cobb is an expert in the art of extracting information stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious in the dream state his Proficiency in extraction is marred by a turmoil that begins with his wife's untimely death he is forced to live the life of a fugitive away from his children his only chance for Redemption lies with a Japanese Tycoon named sedu who wants him to do an Inception planting information into someone's mind in order to accomplish this unprecedented task Cobb and his team must overcome a Labyrinth of unforeseeable challenges where even a slight Miss could trap them in a Perpetual limbo any further Revelation would be remissness on my part as the plot is filled with such intricacies that even expatiation would be incapable of justifying its profundity Leonardo DiCaprio gives gives a solid performance in the lead role following his memorable performance in Shuter Island he has brilliantly depicted the complexities and limitations of Cobb's enigmatic character highlighting his pain and mental trauma Maran kodia is ravishingly scintillating as Cobb's Whimsical wife M the rest of the cast has given a thorough performance with special mention of Ken waden Abe Ellen pagee and Joseph Gordon L it Inception is incredibly brilliant as a movie and is a breakthrough in contemporary Cinema Nolan's creativity and his unparalleled execution definitely make it an object of great cache but whether it would become bu's unen andelo or Kubrick's 2001 A Space Odyssey and serve as a prototype for the movies to come is for the time to decide irrespectively Inception is sign qua naan not only for an efficient Auto but also for the average viewer who is willing to delve deep enough to savor the Delight Inception was released in both conventional and aamax theaters on July 16th 2010 the film had its world premere at Lester Square in London on July 8th 2010 in the Toy Story 3 Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part one its subsequent re-releases increased its gross to $839 million s do Inception is the fourth most lucrative production in Christopher Nolan's career Behind The Dark Knight The Dark Knight ride is and oener and the second most for Leonardo DiCaprio behind Titanic when the rain soaked cars enter the warehouse the floor already has wet tire tracks evidently from a previous take once they stop and the people exit the floor behind the cab and back towards the door is dry in the first scene sat spins Cobbs totem clockwise when the same scene is shown at the end of the movie the totem spins anticlockwise counterclockwise when Arthur arrives in the hotel to get Cobb for their ride on the the roof it is dark outside when they are out on the roof it is around noon in the warehouse seen between Cobb and ariadne a Nikon DSLR camera on a desk behind Cobb disappears and reappears between shots in the warehouse while Cobb and the team are talking about the idea of inception Cobb rolls up his sleeve then starts rolling up the next sleeve the camera Cuts away then moves back to Cobb who is rolling up his sleeves again when Ari Adney and Cobb are at the cafe a man and a yellow jacket passes behind Cobb the camera switches back and forth between Cobb and ariadne several times when it switches back to cob The Man in the Yellow Jacket passes once again the person in the jacket is a projection and based on what the movie explains projections behave a lot like extras this means the same projection May reappear like that when the bus on the bridge hits the guard rail it flies horizontally for some time but the passengers immediately become weightless that is correct weightlessness is caused by acceleration not speed falling is a vertical acceleration and gravity will immediately cause the bus to fall as soon as it is no longer supported by the bridge the characters dream during a 10-hour flight from Sydney to Los Angeles on a Boeing 747 in real life a 747 flight from Sydney to LAX takes at least 13.5 hours the characters need 10 hours to complete the Inception regardless of how long the flight takes on the flight from Sydney to LAX a flight attendant gives Cobb a white i 94 Immigration Form for people coming to the US on a Visa US citizens only need to fill out a smaller blue customs declaration form Cobb clearly declines the white form the flight attendant also offers fiser and I94 he takes it and sets it down fiser is an Australian citizen his passport is visible when he sits down and Cobb looks at it Australia is a member of the Visa waiver program so Australians do not need a visa to visit the US however flight attendants regularly give immigration forms to passengers who don't need them plus depending on Fisher's position in his father's company his visit could require a B1 visitor for business L1 inra compan transferee or E1 SL E2 treaty trout investor visa when the train engine hits the cars it is clearly affected by the mass of the cars it pushes and its bouncing movements suggest some form of suspension or rubber Wheels a real Freight engine weighs more than 100 metric tons far more than the cars it hits it would not give way or bounce when hitting cars however the train appears in a dream so the laws of physics may not apply further indication of this is that the Train's wheels are shown running on non-existing Rails in under the asphalt in real life it would not continue in a straight line when Ari Adney starts changing her first dream with Cobb she steps over an invisible step probably a part of a green screen each time she moves a mirror when a Adney is asked by Cobb to draw a maze she draws two that are easy to get out of but she draws a third that's impossible the only two ways out of the maze from the center are dead ends in the falling van Arthur is sleeping without the headphones that were placed on his head the headphones reappear before the van hits the water one car explosion is shown twice first the car explodes in a fireball filling the frame minutes later the same car explodes in the same Fireball but is part of a bigger shot from further away in the bottom half of the frame when the white van emerges from the warehouse the passenger side mirror strikes the warehouse door in the next shot of the van's exterior the passenger side mirror is fully extended and instead the driver's side mirror is flipped back in subsequent shots the correct mirror is flipped back when Cobb confronts Mal at the hotel in front of the open window with billowing curtains a crew member's fingertips can be seen through the sheer fabric when Arthur arrives in the hotel to get Cobb for their Ride On The Roof the reflection of the window reveals a moving boom pole possibly a cand and the boom operator himself it was very silly of Cobb to insist that ariadne reveal her faster route to him he should have just asked her whether she had a faster route and when she replied in the affirmative told her to inform em and EM alone of this route's specific location this would ensure that Mal could not show up to throw a spanner in the works one newspaper article about the strained relationship between Morris and Robert fiser misspelled success with only one C and uses the phrase emminent death instead of imminent death Dom slipped the sedative into Fisher drink on the plane the flight attendant who was in on the plot could have slipped it in beforehand with much less chance of detection both Cobb and E mispronounced the name mumbasa as mumbasa if e lived there he would know this some characters pronounce sat's name as satto whereas others say Saito 13 years later and Christopher Nolan is still being hounded with questions about the ending of Inception his acclaimed 2010 action thriller about a group of criminals who pull off a dream Heist the ending is notorious Leonardo DiCaprio's cob has completed his task and returns home to his children but the film lingers on his spinning totem top as it begins to wobble cut to Black if the top spins indefinitely Cobb is still dreaming if it falls Cobb is awake in the real world movie A goers have spent over a decade debating whether or not Cobb is awake or dreaming at the end of Inception but Nolan recently said on the happy sad confused podcast that such debates are missing the endings real takeaway cob doesn't care I went through a phase where I was asked that a lot Nolan said when the topic of the Inception ending came up I think it was producer Emma Thomas who pointed out the correct answer which is Leo's character the point of the shot is the character doesn't care at that point it's not a question I comfortably answer there is a nihilistic view of that ending right but also he's moved on and is with his kids Nolan added to wired earlier this month the ambiguity is not an emotional ambiguity it's an intellectual one for the audience whether or not cobs top keeps spinning or falls on the table has no effect on the emotional conclusion of inception which for Nolan is where the heart of the story is Cobb has made it home to his kids the character's emotional journey is complete thus he doesn't even care to check if his top spins or Falls other Inception cast members have weighed in on the debate over the years Michael Cain once famously shared when I got the script of inception I was a bit puzzled by it and I said to Nolan I don't understand where the dream is I said when is it the dream and when is it reality he said well when you're in the scene it's reality so get that if I'm in it it's reality if I'm not in it it's a dream since Kane's character appears in the film's final scene the actor always thought that men Cobb was in the real world and his top would fall on the table in a recent interview with Insider Nolan said watching the ending of inception with fans is a memory that has stayed with him in terms of sitting with a crowd and experiencing the end of the film Inception was a very unique type of ending Nolan said if I would sneak into the back of the theater when it was playing and we would get to the end there would be a tremendous sort of gasp groans frustrations it was an incredible mixture and I would feel very much like I need to get out of here before anybody notices I'm there so that was a pretty remarkable ending to sit through with ices over the years he added Nolan's latest directorial effort Oppenheimer is now playing in theaters Nationwide
