while the final stat book told one story the final scoreboard told a completely different one Oregon outrush the vandals they out passed the vandals they outplayed them on defense and even so it took some late game heroics from Dylan Gabriel to TZ Johnson to help the number three Oregon Ducks escape this one with the victory it wasn't the standard by any stretch of the imagination that Oregon had been preaching of all off season long yet even so there are plenty of opportunities for growth after this one every single game we for an opportunity to grow right we certainly walked away from this this game with opportunities to grow um always going to be like I said celebrate a victory but there's some there's some opportunities for us to get better for sure it was a bumpy ride for the number three Oregon Ducks in their big 10 debut with an unranked Idaho in to while fans may have expected a blowout but they got instead was an old-fashioned standoff Oregon's offense failed to capitalize on several key drives that could have led to points and the lack of a deep passing game and an Oregon Russian attack was less than optimal I thought they did a good job of of stopping our interior Run game and we struggled at times to get the ball in the perimeter and be able to move it down the field you know I think they uh did a really good job of staying on top you know defensively as well to to stop us from creating you know explosive plays down the field on a positive note Oklahoma transferred Dylan Gabriel looks comfortable inside the Oregon offense completing 41 out of his 49 throws for nearly 400 yds and two touchdowns both to TZ Johnson who finished the night with 12 receptions tying a career highy we're not satisfied about what we did today but a win is a win I'm keep saying a win is a win and we just got to fix our mistakes on the flip side Oregon's defense had a solid performance four sacks and two interceptions in this one is nothing to look over but the two- late touchdowns by Idaho shows room for growth and a message that is being taken to heart can't take anybody right so I mean you just got to learn from our mistakes we got next week and things don't get any easier from here up next Oregon will welcome in Boise State into atam Stadium next Saturday and we'll face a team that just rushed from more than 370 yards this past weekend reporting inside aam stadium Brett Taylor kzi 9 Sports
