Play "In The End" On The Drums | 5 Levels

Intro in this video we're going to be breaking down the song In The End by Lincoln Park into five levels so that you can start playing it right now no matter how long you've been playing drums it starts one thing I don't know why it doesn't even matter how hard you try keep that in mind I design is to explain and believe it or not over half the drummers watching here on the dumo channel actually have or use electronic drums as their main instrument so we're going to do the whole lesson on this kit from elisis and it just cost under4 $ so with that let's jump in and let's start with level one doesn't even so level one is called the beginner Level 1 - Beginner and this is the most basic version of the verse Groove that you can play through the entire song if you want eighth notes on the high hats the kick drum only on beat one and the snare drum on Beats two and four I don't know why it doesn't even matter how hard you try keep that in mind that design just R to explain in due time all I know time is a valuable thing watch you fly by as the pendulum swings watch you countown to the end of so level two the weekend warrior Level 2 - Weekend Warrior we're only going to be adding one bass drum and it's going to be on the end of beat 3 and that just gets it a little bit closer to what you hear on the original recording sounds like this I don't know why it doesn't even matter how hard you try keep that in mind I design is R to explain do time all I know time is a valuable thing watch you fly by as the pendulum swings watch your count down to the end Level 3 - The Student of so level three is called the student and here we're getting a little bit closer to what we hear on the original adding in two extra bass drum notes one on the end of beat one and one on the last 16th note of Beat 4 and that very last Kick Drum note is probably the trickiest part about playing this at level three but if you put in the time I know you'll get it I don't know why it doesn't even matter how hard you try keep that in mind I design to explain a do time all I know time is a valuable thing watch you fly by as the pendulum swings watch you count down to the end of the day so level four is called the cover Level 4 - Cover Band Drummer band drummer here we're almost at what Rob bordon plays on the original song but there's still a few things we're going to add in level five so two things to add here the high hat opening on Beat 4 at the end of the bar and then we have a bass drum double happening in the second half of beat 1 and this is the hardest part about level four so you're going to want to start this slowly get the technique down get the feeling on the pedal and then you can try it with the song I don't know why it doesn't even matter how hard you try keep that in mind that design is R to explain in due time all I know time is a valuable thing watch you fly by as the pendulum swings watch you count down to the end the day Level 5 - Rob Bourdon the all right so you've made it to level five this was called Rob bordon because we're playing what Rob played on the original track the hardest part about this is playing a consecutive group of five notes on the bass drum one at the very end of the bar and then four at the beginning so when you Loop it it's five in a row and even for me filming this video this is really hard to do and it took me quite a few takes even just to get the demo that you're going to see in a second so you can use whatever technique you want but I would highly recommend playing this slowly and making sure you can get all five of those bassom notes in a row good luck with this one this is the full version of in the end I don't know why it doesn't even matter how hard you try keep that in mind that design is to explain and do time all I know time is a valuable thing watch it FL by as the pendulum swings watch you count down to the end of the all right there you have it the five Final Thoughts levels of in the end and I always love doing these kinds of videos because you can come back to them often and maybe you're at level two in the next few weeks you can try to get to level three or four and it's just a great way to keep pushing yourself and keep developing yourself as a drummer you know it's not very often that I film a video on an EIT here in the dro Studio but it was actually kind of fun to change it up and do something different so if you want to try this kit out for yourself as well there's a link down in the description and you can also get a free 90 days to dromeo where you can dive deeper into this song and thousands of other ones as well now down in the comments let me know which level you're at and also if you're playing this on an electronic drum set at home and with that thank you so much for watching and I'll see you all in the next video cheers it doesn't even [Applause] [Music] matter
