back to another Vlog I am so super excited to get started in this living room space even though I have zero interior designing skills I was able to create a very high-end looking living room and the final results are absolutely gorgeous I cannot wait to get to that part of this Vlog now if you are new here my name is Jen with two n and I make a lot of style content here on YouTube and over on Instagram but since I've moved from Georgia to Texas I've decided to also add vlogging into my content lineup so I can share my experiences of being a texting girl with sweet sweet Georgian [Music] root that she could get anywhere she's number one and if nothing everybody's wrong it's time to get into the fun parts of the furniture and the decor that just made this space come to life and become everything and more more than what I could have imagined so if you've been rocking out with me for quite some time then you may remember when I took a trip to room and board and I met with Liz from room and board's design team and she helped me to pick out the perfect sofa for this space so I have the FIA 90 in bench cushion sofa in tepic Ivory one aspect of this process that I completely underestimated was how challenging it would be to pick out a carpet I would have completed this space long ago had I found the carpet that I fell in love with that satisfied my vision and what I wanted this space to look like different lighting but I like this one now this one that you see me actually taking out of the plastic and setting up is not the rug in this space it is wrong for so many reasons and this is where the limitations and not having a design background or an eye for this sort of thing comes into play especially paying for shipping and then having to pay for shipping again so this is the alabaster rug from West Elm and this rug is gorgeous do not get me wrong but the undertones in this rug are just too too warm not to mention the size of the rug is entirely too small for this space the good thing is I did go back to with am to take back the original rug and to purchase the one that my heart was set on it came pretty pretty quickly so I was able to finish the space without losing too much time so when it came to putting together this coffee table I am like so excited about it because this is probably my favorite piece in this entire setup this is the Willie faux travetine resin 44 in round pedestal coffee table that was a collaboration between lean Ford and kraton Barrel and it really does give that gorgeous conc look without being as heavy as concrete is although this table is extremely heavy like not only did I lay the box down on the floor incorrectly laying it upside down but I honestly thought that I was going to be able to take it out and put this pedestal together without any help lo and behold I am so glad I did not snap my back trying to be fast oh my gosh shoot sad face okay so over there behind me is the top of the coffee table I just knew I could get it done myself you saw me struggling with it the minute ago but I just knew I would be able to put that thing together cuz all I had to do was set the top down no oh that's ba hold on hold on hold on hold on that's not him let me see is this him hello hey oh okay well no I wanted to see if you could come over I'll do anything because I'm like literally at the tail end but this coffee table you cannot put it you cannot put it together by yourself you have to put the base on and then flip it and so I was able to get the Bas out the box and get the top down but I I I can't do that part for myself um um so I'm kind of stuck with this mess right here in the middle of the floor um but I am grateful that you know he's going to come and do it like cuz I know he's tired he's worked all freaking day and I know he's tired and he wants to take a shower and unwind but he can do that here um but yeah so let me get on to putting the chairs together and actually like keep going and get as much done until um I can get the coffee table done but we might not be able to see a finished result or the finished results until tomorrow which is okay cuz technically this is a vlog so tomorrow will just be in like 5 minutes in the Vlog so it's not really you that's waiting it's me that's waiting and that's anxious because I want to see the completed project so [Music] yeah I wish I had the same delusion that I do when I was to didn't think that I could ruin and at all I could never fall I wish I had that same conviction convinced I never need a fixing yeah that could really knew her business where did she go yeah she thought she could do anything that she could get anywhere confident she's number one and if not everybody's wrong used to be C now I can't remember how I used to do it that I was a member of confidence CU that don't last forever I wish I saw what she saw I wish I knew what she knew I love how she just St it but sadly I a grown it I know I'm Still That Girl but I it's literally enough space for me to fold my legs and still have space in the freaking chair so yes one chair down it's super comfortable so let me put that chair together clean up my mess take a shower relax on my sofa or in my new chair that I put together and I will catch up with you guys when I pick this task back up and show you how much more progress I've made plus make sure you stick around to the end so that you can see the whole thing put together this stuff might not even be in the same order come this time you see it again so make sure you stay tuned to the end so that you can see everything so it has been a few days since I actually picked up the camera to Vlog and continue setting up this space of course as I said I think earlier in the Vlog I had to take that rug back because it did not match it did not fit it was just a complete disaster but I was so grateful that it happened the way that it did because when I went back to West am I actually went with a rug that I originally fell in love with as soon as I saw it and there was a new girl who had just started working there and she was of such great help to me like she stayed with me for probably about an hour and she showed me how you can change the settings on your phone so I'm going to kind of like either try to pop it in here for you or write it down in the description box but if you really want to know if a piece of furniture or a carpet or anything is cool tone or warm tone she showed me a trick where in natural light you basically just tap on your iPhone screen if you have an iPhone I don't know if it works on other phones I we both have iPhones but you just tap on the screen and you just drag that sun dial down um so that it kind of like takes away the white balance and it will show you what the undertones are of that piece of furniture or whatever and so the alabaster rug that I had originally is it has a warm undertone and it was just so strikingly bad bad up against my sofa because I'm assuming my sofa has a cool tone undertone and it just did not go now let's just look at the progress that I've made in this space thus far as you can see starting out with these lamps that I got from Amazon these are called Pharmacy lamps so when I found these from Amazon and then they're high quality and then I found them in Black I am so in love with these lamps I'm so in love with the way they F this space behind the sofa and it's just perfection if you ask me now above the sofa I went ahead and hung the artwork I did get this artwork from Target of course every single thing will be listed down in the description box it was just everything that I wanted it to be and Incorporated all of the colors in this space and then I love the black that is splashed across this artwork which is why I tied in these black O'Brien lamp also in the mail came my fiddle tree now I will say I got this one from Home Depot I am so in love with the fullness of this fiddle and it looks so good in the corner I know most people who do or some people who do interior design they'll tell you do not do faux plants do not do like faux trees but miss Ma when it's your space you do what you love and there you have it I have my faux fiddle and it looks amazing in this corner also I have this painting of my granny and I it is my most treasured possession there is nothing that I own that means more to me than this painting and I'll argue with anyone that I am I don't want to cry ever just thank God enough for allowing me the Innocence that was captured in my face like I could just never put into words how instrumental my granny was in my life okay okay I had to there's just people in your life that just talking about them and thinking about them it just evokes certain emotions you know and it's just so amazing to see how you can become so overcome with emotions when you just think about someone just at the very thought of a person it just evokes such emotions and my granny will always do that every single time um so I want to bring us to the end of this blog and just share out the rest of this process with you which is just me setting out the carpet I will say there was one tip that I got from social media that was the best tip ever when it came to decorating this space and they said if you're unsure of a color scheme go with the colors that are found in nature and that was the reason why I went back to this rug that has this green in it my faux fiddle ties this green into the room with perfection also the stems that I have on top of the table T from Target ties that green element in so beautifully I would have never thought I would have went with these patterns this print these colors all of the things but I am so in love I just stand back in the mornings when I come out of my bedroom and just look at this space because this is a space that I not only love looking at but I love enjoying as well guys thank you so very much for
