Weather Impact Alert in Northeast Ohio extended through Wednesday morning

You know, the heat is here. We wanna show you a live look at Fairport Harbor Beach, several counties are under a heat advisory right now. It looks beautiful through the screen, doesn't it? We have team coverage though tonight. Danielle Wiggins is live in Parma Heights explaining how today's temperatures are impacting local schools. She's got a great thing to show us here, but we want to begin with Chief Betsy Kling. Talk to us about the con current conditions. Bets, what's it look like it's hot out there? Friends, we are so in the low and mid nineties in much of northern Ohio at this hour, then you factor in the humidity and it feels like it's close to 100 degrees in some places. We will hold on to 90 degrees or better for another hour or two and then temperatures begin to slide. The humidity is not going anywhere though. We will stay partly cloudy as we go through the overnight temperatures tomorrow morning will likely start in the low seventies and we're gonna throw some thunderstorms in the forecast too. But for now, our weather impact alerts include this heat advisory that does uh go for Cuyahoga, Lorraine, Erie Huron, Richland and Ashland counties through 8 p.m. We also have an air quality alert for Lorraine Cuyahoga Medina Summit, Portage Geauga Lake and Ashtabula counties through midnight. Basically, it's just hot, it's humid. We've been cooking pollution all day and that can make it very difficult for some unhealthy folks. Uh, you know, different unhealthy conditions. We have temperatures, air temperatures that are in the low and mid nineties across north in Ohio, but those feels like temperatures really start to crank up because of all the humidity. Look west of us, Fort Wayne with that 102 degree heat index right now, Chicago last hour had 100 and 15 degree heat index, all the heat, all the humidity staying with us. The problem is we're also gonna throw some thunderstorms into things, uh heat and humidity through 8 p.m. So obviously for our weather impact alert this evening, you still need to stay cool, but that's not where it ends because we're going to extend our weather impact alert into tomorrow morning as we have a round of thunderstorms that will be coming, not the storms that are in Michigan. Now, we're expecting another round to fire up and those will be here in the early part of the morning commute. So expect that to start your day tomorrow, those daybreak storms and you may need to add a few more minutes or at least dial back the alarm a few more minutes to get an even earlier start. We'll detail all of that coming up in your full forecast in just a little bit. I always appreciate that heads up. Thank you so much.
