Intro Chase would you say uh at this point early on it feels good to be where you are yeah definitely man uh feel good to get out practice with the guys um yeah man just feels good did you expect to be Expected to be clear early clear this early I think D said you got cleared early but did you expect to be clear ear uh I felt like I you know I was just doing what I had to do um to uh you know to speed up my you know recovery process and uh what I did it it worked and um you know just grateful what was the wait like just trying to get out there yeah I mean it was um you know I I started to read more I felt like times where I just couldn't work out or just had to you know not be involved with you know what the team was doing um just really had to just bite down and um you know lock in on just recovering how do you feel like you've done the rest you got I I feel like I did pretty good uh still getting the Playbook down um getting real comfortable um but yeah is there anything different about in from uh this injury from some of your previous ones yeah I mean this one is just I just really just had to chill and just let my body do what is do you feel completely comfortable out Feeling comfortable there right now I mean you or is there ramping back up for you I mean I feel comfortable um we still going to ramp it up um last thing they now they worry about is my neck um they just making sure um cuz I had to sit two months that everybody else was working so just making sure I don't get no soft tissue injuries nothing like that that's that's why we wrapping it up Chase timetable is one thing but also like what do you miss in those two months as far as working out staying in the shape you used to be in and everything yeah I mean that's all been really positive for you coming back you think yeah I mean I um you know I'm still young so it didn't hurt me too too bad right um did a lot of bfr like bfr twice a day um doing everything I could to keep my body in the best shape get got in the pool a lot um so I try to do everything to um everything possible um without lifting and just really running stay right if we were talking to you your first camp with the Saints and and the injury wasn't any part of the situ it was just about your career what what is it you want to be focusing on most this month to to to be the best version of yourself uh just be a great teammate um you know get the Playbook down do my job I know both Dennis Allen and Mickey Attitude heading into season lumus said they feel like you do have a a healthy chip on your shoulder and they like where they're getting you in your career I mean is that is that a fair way to describe your attitude heading this season uh I'm just going out like I do all the time be myself um do me and just be be Chase young but have you made a pass rush around you as well some of the other guys yeah now we got some dogs I ain't going to fake uh Big Carl obviously the OG c um been learning from him a lot um and just trying to uh soak up everything that I can from those guys to add to my game um just to make us all you know that's a whole real good group Physical progress da was saying how impressed he was with you physically how imposing you are what what would you say you are physically I guess in the process maybe if you put a percentage on uh I don't really have no percentage man I I feel good I feel like it's the um you know you still got another month to the first game I feel like I've been in the weight room every day so um still trying to stay on top of uh my body um you know so I think I'll be uh even better in a month did you say earlier you were reading bit yeah I've been I've been reading a lot more um when I was just injured cuz sitting in the house you get tired of watching TV um so I just start to read a little more what have you been reading um so right now I'm reading something called do hard things um and just some you know just nice little read in Camp I ain't reading that much maybe like 10 pages a night you know just to calm myself down but you find out relaxing yeah relaxing yeah and you know got to feed the brain you Impressions of Carl Brandon know what is your impression of Carl branderson so far like what does he do well from your advantage point uh first of all he got a dog mentality I feel like it has to start there um you know you got to you got to have that dog in you to I feel like to be great at this game um he has a very good bend I feel like around the edge um very great power um I feel like he has a wide range of moves that he can use um in his toolbox and uh you know we always going um back and forth about okay car what you do right here and you know he asked me what I do here um you know if it's a angle if it's a step um we always come talk to each other after you know maybe a third down um rep what do you expect us to be Impressions of Tally Fogle saying about you six month from you'll see we going to see I noticed you're having those conversations with Tally fog on the other side too um you probably had a few first round offensive tackles in your carear boat was impression of him so far oh dog he uh he going to be a real great player real patient super strong um you know when I'm even when I'm going against him I got to mix it up on him di then cuz he is just so um massive and you know a guy who's massive who's patient and strong I mean you can likewe give them anything and they can they just sitting on you so no you good can can you tell that he Impressions of Cam Akers hasn't been a left tackle before like n he uh he's a he's a he's a thing I feel like that makes him different he's a very smart smart player um very smart he always I feel like every day he's asking me a a piece here there that he can learn from okay what you what did you do at the top of your Rush right there you always want to go inside he he's always trying to learn um and get better for that next rep and what have you been able to pick up from cam the last few months just uh everything um a lot of things things about my hand hand placement a lot um pad level um a lot of things things and in the Run game um in terms of staying low when we need to Peak when we don't need to um so I'm going pick with Cam all Camp helping him get a knowy Studying Cam Akers it you worked with some you know got carrian and other pass rushers but like does he provide kind of a different perspective for you at all like is this pressure for you yeah cam because Cam he's a he's a guy who can use speed he can use power he can go speed to power um he can go power to speed so uh it's definitely I feel like um like even like uh Nick when I was uh out there um you know you got a guy who who really does it all all the time um so um those guys I definitely try to study from and pick up from is that a balance that you're Balance still learing in your career of when the power when to speed like yeah I mean I feel like we always going to learn it's always something uh you know we can learn how to change up on a guy I feel like that's going to go even when I'm you know God willing year 12 13 you know um I'm still going to be learning have Weight you is that an area that where you maybe made some of the most growth in your careers deciding deciding the ratio and the timing of of of which since you have both in Your Arsenal uh I'll just say I wouldn't even say the most growth I just say you know it's inching every day inching every day has has decided what weight to play at was that something you toyed around with earli in your career you felt good with it Rec uh yeah I mean long as I feel good long as I know I can move I can bend the edge I ain't really too tripping long you know I don't look fat right long I don't look fat out there then I'll be all right um and how unique has been to play some snaps next to cam that's a pretty combo legendary you know getting snaps for the Hall of Famer um you know that mean when he's in tackle you two can play off each other yeah n getting getting snatched with the Hall of Fame shoot we can dial it up so it's uh that's exciting anything else awesome thank you very much
