two lane started out the post Michael PR ERA with a huge 520 win against Southeastern Louisiana the surprising part wasn't that two lane got the win but it was the fact that unknown red shirt freshman Daren Mena started for the Green Wave over Oregon Ducks transfer Tai Thompson who many assumed would be the presumptive starter once he transferred from the Ducks during his debut menah had a great showing with completing 10 of his 12 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns on top of that while looking like a veteran at quarterback for the Green Wave but what do we actually know about the answer is not much Daren Mena wasn't a highly sought-after recruit with only two offers listed from Tulane in Idaho State Mena was rated a three star Prospect ranked as the 112th best QB in the 2023 High School class before starting at Tulane Mena played high school ball for St Joseph High School in San Louis Obispo California where we had productive senior season with having 256 yards with 25 touchdowns Mena also has a twin sister who plays soccer at the University of Oregon so athleticism was in his genes with so little and Darian Mena it was a shock to see him not only start but look great for the Green Wave and I can't wait to see what he does for them this season and hopefully carries them to a playoff spot
