Now he's here, he's ready to run and catch. Of course, here's, today's one on one with Chick Hernandez. You've had a few weeks now in this month. Really? In this, in this system with Cliff Kingsbury, what do you like about it? Uh It's, it's a build. Um You know, I think what do you like about it is a loaded question. Um I think it's something that we, we build what we like about it, right? It's not just you come in and this is what I like about cliff. It's like, ok, let's move around. Let's see what works to see how the strengths of our offense are meshing together. What's, is it, am I doing well in the slot? Do we have concepts so I can go outside in the backfield? Can me and B Rob be on the field at the same time? So I think what to like is to come. I think what I've liked so far is that cliff is thinking of how do I get my guys in the right spot to have success? And so he's asking me about, hey, certain routes and stuff like that, hey, you think you could run this one? I would like to see you on this route. And so I do like that, he's thinking that way to try to use us and make us more versatile. These guys are, they've said that we're a sponge with Austin. He just, you know, he knows a lot about the game and the nuances of the game. At what point did that come for you? Yeah, I think um since my rookie year, I really emerged my, my mind body into this, you know, coming from an undrafted position six on the depth chart. It was, hey, I'm getting a lot of mental reps. I got to make sure I know what I'm doing. So when my time comes that I'm available and I'm ready to go and having that mindset that stayed with me throughout my career, I really, like I said, immersed myself into when it comes to the playbook, things like that protection calls, the coverages that we have all the checks, things like that so that I can be almost on the same level as the quarterback when it comes to anticipating what I'm seeing and what he's probably going to check to what's impressed you most about Jaden Daniels, his attitude, like his attitude is come in and learn like this man is smiling, he's, he's looking, he's starting to show qualities of leadership that I love, you know, taking me to the side like we had a route today. Um He threw me a little check down and went, broke someone's ankles, right? Got up the field and he's like, hey, man, I'm gonna keep coming to you. I'm like, that's what I like to hear. Like, you know, like, you know, hey, I'm making plays for you, you know, know where your outlets are, what's in your tank, everything. I mean, you gave everything you have, right? I mean, what's in my tank? It's everything that I can put out there. It doesn't matter what's in it. It's how much can I exert and I'm gonna exert all of it, you know, as far as me, I'm gonna go out there and make plays, the plays that I can make, I'm gonna go make them cliff's gonna help me put, get put in the right spot. Um And then it's from there, it's, hey, stay healthy and continue to do it every week to week. What did you know, about this franchise from afar before coming here. Nothing. Nothing. I really didn't know anything about, about the Washington Commanders. Um, I didn't know they changed their name a lot. Um, but I've been, I've been learning, I've been learning about the DMV area. I'm getting acclimated to the fans. I've been, uh, welcome with open arms since I got here. Um, and so it's been, it's been something that's been building on me. I'm gonna broadcast the game. I'm doing the play by play. My partner is Brian Mitchell who wore that number for years. He's, he's looked at the people of Warren 30 went killing me just killing me. He looked at you and said, OK, I got, I got no disrespect to anyone else. That's true. But the thing is, it's, yeah, it's the player that makes the number right.
