there's a new recall out that a lot of Ford owners need to be aware of the recall I'm talking about is 215 and 216 this affects the 17 to 22 year model Super Duties and 15 to 20 model year F-150s in unintended tailgate opening concern basically means you could be riding down the interstate with some 2x4s in the back of your truck the tailgate could pop open which is a serious safety hazard the problem that I have with these two recalls is that they they fix the symptom of an issue they don't act actually fix the issue first step of the technical info on the F-150 is to check the BCM for corrosion I'm going to come over here to the 250 you'll notice that the first step of the test is to check the BCM for corrosion corrosion is what's causing the unintended tailgate opening problem now what causes corrosion water the BCM on these trucks sit right up on the right side kick panel down in the passenger side faboard the windshield can leak the sunroof can leak the door seals can leak and all of this water accumulates down on top of the BCM
