the day that I'm posting this is going to be the very first day of the Kansas City Renaissance Festival so to kick that off let's do a quick get ready with me for the media day which happened last week obviously I have to get all my costumes out from last year shake off the spiders and cobwebs to start off I am picking out one of my favorites it's sort of a Viking style apron dress I did make the red part and then the apron I thrifted I'm just going with a super simple hairstyle today nothing too dramatic for the first day mostly cuz I don't have time but that's neither here nor there got to have the belt on of course I don't know why I put this on before going riding around with this is not super comfortable I do like to do a little bit of natural makeup since I am blacksmithing I'm part of sort of the cast I guess so Alum pretty do a little bit of makeup just to accentuate my natural features nothing that'll show up too much was not thinking about the fact that I don't have AC in my car whenever I chose this hair style but I got to drive there now so here we go go yeah let's do a quick little video walking in I'm going to pretend like this is the first time I'm walking in like I didn't have to go set my camera up and then run and put it up I'm not sure if I'll ever get used to recording in front of people I feel very embarrassed by it hello how are you now and we're here finally hair's not in too much disarray just a little bit so now that I'm here I'm going to do my final touches because it's just kind of annoying to ride around in the car so I have these shell pens that I got on Amazon they were a pretty good deal I would like to buy some from an actual Artisan at some point but at this time this is what I've got I don't love how bendy this needle is but you know so [Music] this is pretty much to make it look a little bit more like a historically accurate likeing [Music] dress so just like that just to give it a little bit of a Viking feel and I have a little roach as well so if I was going to wear it cloak go on there this is my little IA pen that it's the group that I work with is Ikea so I'm going to stick that right here Place some pride hopefully it won't fall over too much um yeah so that's going to be it for right now I've got some other little trinkets but I just don't feel like wearing them at this time and then no be all right I course you can't go I get I have a blanket that I found at the first store and I'll now that I'm all dressed it's time to grab my tools starting with some tongs and moving on to the Hammers it's pretty tight quarters so it's hard to get around people I don't have that small I forgot to get material I'm going to be working on a leaf today it's a super simple project that I like to do to get back into the habit of blacksmithing so it's almost always my first order of business make a a leaf I have a tendency to overwork the stem and break it off and I did I'm not yes I absolutely did actually crack the stem off I 100% did I was way too confident here I don't know who I thought I was break off I feel like the people who have to ask us to repeat things through [Music] three you broke it you [Music] did hey you know what it just became a Ke Chain Dr a hole in it it was supposed to be a key [Music] chain but it it spread I did break my tail off so you want your what are you going to [Music] do fidgeted and I fidgeted and I fidgeted it right off [Music] the part we like about lasna and Las snack break fortunately later on I did have the chance to redeem myself and I made this Leaf I didn't record all of that because I didn't have the battery life but it turned out pretty good next time I'll do a little more texturing that's pretty much the whole day Saturday but that's the closing ceremony good night Karma her eyes are even working okay it's time for the customary pre-drive home disrobing cuz I am not going to leave all these necklaces on there's just no way around it it's not very comfortable it's a very long drive I would call that successful got the necklaces off now for the belt aboutt and actually it's a warm enough day that I'm going to get rid of smaller belt as well so all in all it was a fun day um I think in one of my next videos I'm going to go ahead and get the rest of my fair costumes sorted out um there are like some tears rips things that aren't finished on them things that I wasn't satisfied with on them and so maybe I'll get those taken care of uh in a video that could be fun a fun little project and since I'm [Music] driving with the windows down I'm going to put my hair up in a bun [Music] much better oh man if you don't know the feeling of pulling your hair back after having it all loose it does anyone else feel that way when you pull your hair back it's like I didn't realize how obstructed my eyeballs were anyway I'm not going to record while I drive because that sounds like a safety hazard but um that's pretty much it I'm going to hopefully be posting more uh blacksmithing videos in the future um I was just able to procure some of my own tools and things to started at home as well so some blacksmithing tutorials uh successes and failures and things like that just you know fun stuff like that so Smith and Shirley that's going to be the name from now until I find something that seems a little bit more
