Detroit. >> The man at the center of an alleged sign stealing scandal at the University of Michigan football program is finally sharing his side of the story in a new documentary. >> CBS News Detroit's Meredith Bruckner is at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor with a closer look at Conner stallion's story. >> Conner Stallions is speaking out for the first time since that sign stealing scandal cost him his job at Michigan football. He's talking in a new Netflix documentary And today I'll be speaking with those who are familiar with the case and were featured in that film. >> Former Michigan football analyst Connor Stallion's resigned in November 3rd, 2023 after the NCAA launched investigation into an alleged illegal sign stealing scheme. Reports of stallion's purchasing tickets to opponent's games for numerous associates and even reportedly attending one game in disguise on the field of central Michigan put him at the center of the investigation. After months of silence, he's finally speaking out about his experience. >> Finally, you're starting to actually understand. Like what? Who is he? What's his motivation? What's his voice sound like? Those are the new things that the college football world hasn't been able to really know or see. >> While science dealing is not directly banned by the NCAA, the method with which it's done can put teams in hot water. >> Obviously he was I mean Michigan hired him to be the science dealer and he saw signs It was more so about the method of which he went about it which he contends was a gray area, just the extreme lengths that he went to that I think is what caught everyone's attention And yeah, he hasn't admitted that he's done it yet but I mean there's pretty good evidence out there that he had holes as he came into contact with stallions for days after his name entered the headlines. I was there for him as a friend first and foremost because he didn't have anybody all the people that he would have talked to with all of this they were inside bachelor hall and he wasn't allowed to talk with any of them. >> One divisive topic is whether then had Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh knew about the alleged scheme? >> No, I don't think that Jim Harbaugh knew. My question more so is why would he know if he hires a science dealer and the science dealer still signs? Why would you know how he's going about it? Right. You're not micromanaging. Why would he know that Conner was sending people to games? Whether Jim knew that he was going to the Lions, he did. I don't know. But the NCAA also shows that it doesn't matter if he knew directly as the head coach you are in charge of the institution whether you knew what was going on or not. Which is where the incivility is coming down in Michigan. >> The NCAA investigation is still ongoing
