all right we're here in the ner locker with Brandon Allen and uh Kyle n as the number two quarterback this week and how' you feel about the camp you had this summer yeah you know I thought it went pretty well obviously there's a lot of things you you want to get better at and things you want to improve on but I think getting a lot of those reps getting a lot of work with the guys uh definitely helped me become a better quarterback and become a lot more comfortable in the system yeah I thought uh you know it seemed like you seemed very decisive this summer you moved well within the pocket are you just more comfortable overall in this offense in year two I think so has a lot to do with it um when you really know where you're trying to go with the ball overs certain reads and everything I do think it helps you play a little bit faster a little bit more confident and um you know I think that was just a a lot going on from last year and a lot of learning from last year and then and then kind of just uh taking the next step this year how uh how's Brock hook this summer in your eyes obviously he's going to start week one against the Jets he's the number one quarterback you're probably watching as close as anybody how's he looked to you great you know Brock's been you know had an incredible off season um you can tell he's put a lot of work in tried some things throughout Camp um had some really good days and you know obviously get some of the the live game experience there in the preseason get his get his feet wet a little bit and I think he'll be uh he'll be ready to go week one how does uh how's the opponent how the Jets look on F you guys look they went undefeated in the preseason but you guys how much do you look at that as opposed to last year um a little bit of both you know I I think there's pros and cons looking to both but um I think in anytime you talk about the Jets you know their defense is always really solid they're really good defense they obviously with Robert solah coming from here and and kind of similar systems a little bit but um they're they're really good at what they do and and they they're um they got some really good dment up front they're going to they're cause a lot of problems but um be our job to to execute well on offense and and move the ball against them and it'll be a challenge but I think we're up for it one of the things I notic is they don't seem to travel their Corners they have sauce and they get DJ Reed they're both really good but they don't move sauce from side to side they can play sides M you look at all these teams around the league is that more common or is it more common to play sides that's tough I I don't know i' yeah I've gone against a bunch of different different defense coordinators that do both you know sometimes you'll see teams that like to put their best corner on the best receiver and follow him the whole game and uh other guys do do sides and I think some guys do field some guys do boundary it's it's really just a comfortability thing I think as a defense coordinator and and what your guys are better at and um obviously the the way they do things works for them and you know they've they've played at a high level doing it that way so I think it's really just kind of up to the to the defensive coordinator they at the NFL they had their you know player of the week and they went they're going with guys football guys they went with Jaan uh Jan is kind of your ultimate football guy huh um but you guys what's the like with this receiving Corner because you got different receivers uh you had a Ricky you had a Jacob uh it's a bunch of different kind of guys your job is to get on page with them uh what's it been like throwing to these guys this summer it's been great honestly um you know I think we had early on a few injuries here and there that kind of made it challenging getting them on the field but uh when they've been out there it's been great and obviously Jawan is like you said an ultimate football guy he brings the energy every day to practice and so I do think having guy like Jawan with with the energy he brings kind of show the young guys how things are done uh in that receiver room and uh and obviously getting VA back has been great and so I do think we have a really good uh receiving core that that's going to put on a show for us the Piel thing was tragic but but itd avoid being tragic he's going to make a make a recovery what's the impact of something like that on a room like that does something like that Galvanize the guys in some ways bring together you're going have to ask them on that that just a scary situation obviously and one that you know I think we're all pretty thankful for the outcome that that did happen you know um but uh you know tough situation for Ricky and you know he he was back I think two days later up here in the facility which I thought was crazy but um yeah I I don't OB see guys feel for him they want him out there they want him doing thing but I think mainly we're happy he's just here with us okay last one for you though we talked a lot about Ricky but I thought Co showed a lot this preseason absolutely when you add a weapon like that and he stretches the field vertically a little bit does it really actually create more space for you underneath is that just something that you know will hit putting him out there potentially create a little bit more room on the field I think so I think anytime you got a guy that can run like that um the defense has to respect it they have to respect the threat downfield and and when certain things happen like that when you got a guy that can run by people you know they may have to give a little more cushion they may have to respect when he bursts that he might go deep and uh can't just sit on certain routes so I do think it opens a lot of things up when you have a guy like that that can take Defenders out or get by Defenders and and get down the field deep because like I said it does make defenses have to respect the the deall hey good luck this year thanks for the time yeah thank you Brandon Allen appreciate you man
