that guys let me just say really quickly I'm so excited about this new Monday night crew we're going to have a great season but yes Aaron Rogers is now part of an elite group here in New York City big name athletes are brought in to this Market to help save suffering franchises of this great City and now he joins the likes of Mark Messier Carmelo Anthony Alex Rodriguez to name a few and we talked to all those guys about the expectation of their assignment when they got to the big Apple but you know then we realized we needed a bigger voice we needed a true New Yorker who could really speak to the pressure of performing on the greatest stage in the world and the biggest by the way while our prayers were answered because the music the music Gods rained on us shall I say and the Piano Man himself Billy Joel was available to give us his New York State of Mind Yankees to the world I remember the press conference it was surreal I noticed uh walking in this morning that that Super Bowl 3 trophy is looking a little lonely the pressure of doing something that hadn't been done in P ofo ghost of the demon you believe I didn't feel pressure to perform I felt pressure to [Music] win people don't do anything halfway here if they like you they let you know if they don't like you they let you know too as a native New Yorker describe what it feels like to play on the biggest stage in the world New York City is a world city you're not just playing New York you're playing the world there's a lot of pressure but you use that you AB capitalize on it you make it work for you it's a small Club Superstar athletes brought to the world's largest stage New York work to change the fortunes and State of Mind of their respective franchises if you don't have a winning mentality there's no place for you in New [Applause] York I would describe the New York media as Fair they're also tough I find it is a great challenge to prove uh all you guys wrong and everyone wrong someone said that I had more back pages than anybody in in the history of New York it was just the thought constantly day in and day out of winning I don't really think it was about me coming back home it was more so about them believing the city believing in someone to lead them to that that promise when I first got to New York nobody wanted to talk about the Stanley Cup because they didn't want to put the pressures to a point where the expectations were too high in case of failure Aaron roders now joins a small but elite club one that truly knows how lonely the burden of New York's expectations can be well I'm not in a position to give Aaron Rogers any advice Aaron Rogers doesn't need advice from me he's going to face a lot of adversity on the way to a championship hold it's not going to be smooth sailing I can guarantee you that as a jet you win in New York you might be put right next to the Statue of [Music] Liberty so let's add one more legendary name to the mix shall we Joe nameth Joe is not here at tonight's game but I did speak with him on the phone yesterday I asked him if he thought that this jet Jets roster was a Super Bowl caliber team he told me there's so much talent here but it all starts up front if the Jets o line can keep Aaron Rogers upright so we can unload the ball they've got a real shot one thing is for sure the bills dline is going to be bringing that pressure tonight SVP RG3 and our C QB Alex Smith what do you guys got I just would go back to Billy Joel he talks about pressure and he talks about there's a song called an innocent man and he said when he begins the concert he's thinking about can I hit the high note in that song Rogers trying to hit a high note that they haven't seen since Joe Willie Alex Smith alongside you go back to that draft class you've known him a long long time
