new division in a new world Jared gof is now at Detroit line what can he be now that he gets a fresh start in Detroit a great opportunity for him to create his own identity we were so excited to get this thing done I thought of being able to add him as our guy our signal caller I'm like absolutely he was the right guy to go through the Journey that we knew we were about to go through it's going to take a lot of hard work and that's the challenge that I think I'm most excited for is bringing this team and bringing this city and bringing this culture back to to what it should be and I know it won't happen overnight I know it won't happen in a week it won't happen in a month but um it can happen very quickly look turn down the T oh they're rushing the field d d I love and appreciate you Johnson those are the Rams and actives uh a little banged up obviously they placed Darius Williams on a earlier in the week so they are missing their starting corner and their starting offensive line in this game Malcolm what is the Lions interactive report looking like yo so the lions in report for week one let's go I'm starting off with safety iffy if I bonu he's inactive today um safety Lauren point I feel I feel idiotic but you know what it's Lions game day I'm G get through it let's go man all right let's let's let's continue the show let's start off with the offense and what are your keys to victory for the Lions offense today versus this LA Rams defense [ __ ] Lions offense against this uh Rams defense minus Aaron Donald [ __ ] do whatever the [ __ ] they want to do man do what you want to do against this team man you want to run the ball we talked about this you want to run the ball you know get your offensive lineman lined up go win that one-on-one match up against their defensive lineman run the ball create those big gaps they want pass the ball they can do the same thing with jar G I think you could create um you know you got to find open they're G to play zone they're not going to play man so I think they'll be allowed of Zone and I think jar GF is going to be able to pick him apart if he wants to I'm yeah you know something like I I was saying earlier in the weekend like I still have the same thought here is like this Rams defense like they are very young and it's just a lot a lot less intimidating without a guy like Aaron Donald up that middle like he draws so much attention when you play him and we always talk about it who are the players you Circle who are the impact players on both sides of the ball and like now I look at this Rams defense like it's just not as intimidating there's no more Aon Donald they traded one of their star Captain linebackers Ernest Jones right before the season losing Darius swims one of the starting corner so they picked up backup from the Jacksonville Jaguars this off he's not gonna be playing in this game got a brand new play caller in this game too Raheem Morris is now the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and they did promote within their system so maybe it won't be too much of an adjustment period but like at the same time first time play call on defense and the Lions offense did not lose anything like you're running get back pretty much from what you had last year which was already a top offense in the NFL you're keeping Ben Johnson around which was a shock to many people because everyone thought he was going to be a head coach some morere else you have the same quarterback under Helm you pretty much have the same offensive lineman in sact outside of moving Kevin zitler instead of Jonah Jackson and you know skill position wise you lost Josh Reynolds and you're expecting Jameson Williams to have a bigger bulk of the you know the the role of the Lions offense now but everyone else is the same as they had last year and they were already in a top offense and I just don't expect anything to change if anything I think it'll get better and maybe there will be some Rust because it is week one and there's some crazy things that could happen week one but like like realistically just looking at on paper right now I don't see what the Rams could do to consistently stop this Line's offense now are they bums absolutely not like they have some young players that could shine this game but like we've seen it all the time rookies are very hard to predict on how they're going to look especially early on in the season like they could look like great week one or they could be going through an adjustment period and it could take a couple games a whole year whatever may be like we saw with even our guy Aiden Hutson he was terrible his first game as a Detroit line jir Gibbs last year terrible as the line his first game ended up having very solid careers and obviously very young careers but they've been solid so far I just don't see how the Lions don't get what they want to do get what they want to get going in this game versus LA Rams I just think they have the experience they know each other very well Ram have a lot of new moving pieces in a new play caller like I just feel like this is a very good match for the Detroit Lions going to week one yeah [ __ ] you already answered my the question I was gonna ask you is is Russ none of these starters took a snap in preseason are you expecting any type of Russ from the Detroit Lions honestly not nothing crazy you know maybe you see in the beginning of the game just because they haven't really played together in a you know a meaningful game in eight months outside of practices but like other than that no I don't I mean like the other side is really trying to figure out each other how to play with each other for the first time honestly like I think the Lions have the edge over the Rams and them in that category if that makes sense even though they didn't play in the preseason the alliance yeah I mean I think on paper we look at it on paper man on paper we should dominate but now it's about execution and see if we could you know if we could do it on paper we should dominate there you look at you look at the roster on defense you're like who who who's here who the [ __ ] is here like like even the their cornerback he just got placed on N yeah darus Williams darus Williams so like who's who's expecting to fit his role who who's gonna be the corner playing outside now yeah it's looking like on their depth chart it's going to be Josh Wallace not too familiar with his game personally and then the other even their starting Corner Josh W from Michigan actually uh he is a this this guy a rookie regard I should have pulled this up before but yeah he has no stats so I'm assuming a rookie right um very young player don't know how this guy is in their system right and the other starting corner is travius white right travius white hasn't played more than 10 games in the last two years like he's a very good talented corner but injuries have been a problem in his career the last two years and he's going to a brand new team this year for the first time after leaving Buffalo so good player don't get me wrong but a guy that hasn't been healthy the last two years how is he going to look in this game as well and these lines receivers are not no joke you know you got Alan Ross and brown obviously know what we could J Will speed you got Sam leapa you got in the game as well like they just have so many weapons it's really hard to neutralize this Li's offense Man weapons on top weapons on weapons on weapons man that's what I'm talking about man yeah yeah man this this this looks good man unless the Lions have an extreme rust I just don't I don't see it I think they could drive the ball they're gonna be able to drive the ball up and down this against there Rams defense yeah I mean the Rams defense is still solid like they have some like potential guys but I just don't think it's a great matchup especially week one like I think you're catching the Rams at a very good time um trying to learn this new play caller what how we see it going to look in games obviously and then obviously how are they gonna adjust without Aaron Don on that defense because that's a big adjustment when you lose a guy like 99 on that defense huge adjustment now now it's going to show like a lot of those guys are very productive when Aaron Donald is there he was getting a lot of double team sometimes triple teams he was getting a lot of attention on that defensive line right now he's not there he's not there right now now how are those guys going to react when they got it you know produce by themselves we seen it in Detroit when we had one of those guys that that came from that type of type of role yeah and this is like a ODed version hly because Aaron Donald was arguably the best defensive player in football like you know the last couple years right yeah like we've lost some big-time players and we've seen how much of an impact is make to a Alliance defense like I'll give an example snag Harrison like when we saw he wasn't that same guy from when he wasn't 18 when we acquired him like that the Lions defense took a lot of steps backwards now you're taking a guy like Aaron Donald out of that defense like that's just not a guy you could replace overnight you know that it's gonna take a committee of guys to take over and they brought some rookies in they drafted some guys we'll see how it looks going into the year but I don't know man it's not something that's just an easy adjustment after losing one of the best defensive players in in the whole game yeah those rookies have really tough matchups ahead of them and we'll see how they react I mean they got them going against p and Zer so we'll see how they how they react man yeah the lines that offensive line that has a lot of continuity and a group that a lot of people would rank the number one group in the off in the whole NFL as far as an offensive line and if not number one it's in that top three no doubt no we're number one yeah I mean I I would say we're number one being bias I'll say it's top three yeah all right just jump other side the ball right now we were talking about the Lions offense it's pretty cutting drive on that end but this is a little bit different here yeah Alliance defense versus the Rams offense what do you this one I think is a lot more of a matchup right because the Rams have kind of look what I was see in that Line's offense they have the continuity together like they have Matthew Stafford they have Cooper Cup who's healthy now he was dealing with injuries all year last year he comes back I think week five week six he's healthy he has a full off season we saw what pukaa did in his rookie year phenomenal broke all the rookie receiving records like so they have KH and I I can't forget to mention K Williams who was phenomenal last year in the running back room too for them and they drafted play corm was another guy I like a lot too and looked like Dan Campbell gave him a lot of Praise this week too and he was a guy they liked a lot in the draft process as well so you know they have some Talent here definitely on the offensive side of the ball and the Lions defense has some new moving pieces and we're gonna miss one of those debutes week one DJ reader is one of their big time offseason acquisitions he's not going to be playing in this game but brand new secondary especially in the corner cornerback room with now Carlton Davis getting H from Tampa Bay you got the rookie terion Arnold who's going to start so you got two brand new corners that you didn't have in that game last year I'm just very curious and interested to see how Aaron Glenn is gonna use all his new toys I like to say he's got so many new pieces to play around with and not even just new guys bringing in just like even the guys he had before I I'm I'm interested to see how he has him in these roles like we've heard Jack Campbell is not going to be the Mike linebacker fulltime like how is he going to look in that spot Derek Barnes going back to his old role he was in Purdue going to that Sam linebacker how is he GNA look in that role fulltime uh James Houston he's not active in this game but he's going to be one of those guys that's gonna be alltime pass rusher now instead of trying to make him go around all over and try all these different positions with him so I'm just curious to see another year under this system how are these guys going to look in their brand new spots you could say Brian Branch another one of those guys too like he played nickel last year now he's gonna go to the full-time safety role so Aaron Glenn has a lot of new pieces to play around with and it's going to be very intered to see how he's going to move around and and get all these guys involved in the defensive side of the ball here I be welc [ __ ] this is embarrassing week one week one that was embarrassing as [ __ ] goddamn but um yeah man um you you hit a lot of it man it's this is a big test right here this is one of the biggest tests if you come out to see what the Lions did on their secondary all these moving pieces that they did adding you know terion um Arnold and and all these new corners and you know Carlton Davis and all these guys how are they going to react playing against these Superstar receivers can we limit to can we limit these guys that that's my question um you know how is you know are we gonna be able to put pressure on Matthew Stafford that's gonna be huge that's gonna be huge this is a huge test we I think this is a really really really really good offense could be you know one of the top offenses in the league right now um how how how we going to play these guys how are we going to be able to defend like if we able to limit these guys and you know have a really good performance that's going to be a really good sign going forward um but also man I like like I said I want to see how these guys react like especially these young Corners they really get targeted much in preseason they're gonna get they're definitely get targeted today I want to see how they react when the ball thrown their way are be able to um you know get pbus you know maybe make a play on the ball get it get you know get a turnover how are these guys going to react that's the biggest test right here I guess these Elite these Elite receivers so I I just can't wait for this match up man absolutely and you you hit on the nail saying the pressure is going to be big in this game and this is one of those matches I think you got to take advantage of it like they're missing both their starting offensive tackles game no havenstein no Jackson so they're going to back up offensive tackles and I've said it all year long all offseason long I should say is that I'm expecting a hutchon to take that next step this is year three now he's already a pretty damn good football player I'm ready for him to get into that League category I'm not ready to put him in that Elite category I watched the game like the Steelers and Falcons yeah I see TJ watt just absolutely dominate that Falcons offensive line every single play and I'm like Hutchinson is not there yet he's very close to being that guy there but he's not there yet I watch a guy like Max Crosby like he's very close to these guys' potential and and what they bring to a defense and I'm expecting that jump out of hutchon this year to really like assure himself to be in that Elite company and I think it starts this year and I think it starts this game week one you have a good match up two backup offensive tackles you have to cause some pressure and I know DJ reader is not playing this game but once he is on that field he's going to eat up a lot of the blocks as well and it cause a lot of attention as well because he's such a force on that defensive line it's going to leave more lanes and more opportunities for Aid hunson to have oneon-one opportunities and just go after that quarterback and if Aiden huton could be that guy that you Circle every week he's already one of those guys you have to keep an eye out for because he's already a damnn good player but if he's one of those guys and gets himself in that leak company he can cause double teams consistently man that's going to make the whole defensive line so much better in general like you're opening up Lance for and Lee mcneel DJ reer Marcus Davenport's the guy we haven't even mentioned yet he's going to be getting majority of the starting I think reps in that other side of the the edge with 8 hunson and another guy who could benefit off this as well and we didn't see him in the preseason he a guy who kind of rode off a little bit but Dan Campbell in this St have praised him so much so far this off season Levi enzar what is his role going to be and we're going to see this week you know he's one of those guys as a twinner you could put him inside you could put him on the edge so they they have options here like I know we always talk about Josh Pasco kind of being that next guy to step up but something tells me this staff thinks something more of Levi anzer than Josh Pasco and the reason why I believe that is that we didn't see a single snap out of Levi on Ric in this whole preseason at all Josh Pasco was sometimes playing a little late in these games especially that Kansas City chief game where he caused that fumble I don't know man I really do think there's something there with Lei on that they're trying to hide and they were waiting to show in this game week one versus LA Rams yeah he's a he's a secret sauce he's a secret sauce um yeah and the thing is I think that's key did the the front four has to win because you don't want to really Blitz Stafford I think blitzing Stafford is a bad idea we've seen Stafford for 12 years we know how Stafford operates really good against the blitz he sees the blitz coming gets the ball out quick but what he struggles with is when you could put pressure with the front four and collapse the pocket on them that's why every time we had we had trouble with the Vikings when they had those you know that that that really strong pass rush with the just a front four always give us problems the the Bears sometimes when they had that pass rush whenever we play against a team that has a really strong pass rush with just a front four always gets s for problems when the parket collapse it kind of makes uncomfortable sometime he does dumb [ __ ] and if we can do that maybe we could force him to do some dumb [ __ ] I think we could force some maybe turnovers or and make it uncomfortable for him we can get pressure with that front four and maybe drop everybody else in coverage or whatever Aaron wants to do I'm not sure he wants to play a little bit of zone drop everybody in coverage or or play man but I I think when you able to drop that extra person in coverage and just able to rush your front four that's what that's that's what be giv staford problems his whole career I think that's a formula for Stafford [ __ ] if we could do that this could be an easy dub yeah I mean it's obviously a lot easier something done especially with this offense and and Matthew Stafford under the helm but yeah I mean you have an opportunity here like I said two back offensive tackles let's just see how they take advantage of that and I I think something we didn't really mention too much too is like you have to stop this running game that's gota be first and foremost and the Lions defense if that was something they were really good at last year that was something they were really good at you know they they really made it a priority to stop the run I think there's some other factors that they can get better in it's like you mentioned getting pressure on the quarterback especially with their front four maybe blitzing a little less but if they could continue to do what they did last year as far as stopping that run that's huge because we've seen it on the other side not too much times in Detroit but when Stafford has a running game going he's not going to lose that game more more times than not like when we saw that stat I mean it didn't happen often but when he had a 100 yard rusher just as simple as a 100 yard rusher in a game his his numbers looked completely different like he was a lot more efficient and obviously you could say that for anybody if you have a running game it makes the game a lot easier for the quarterback so first and foremost you have to get on top of Kyro noes and Blake Corman and limit that running game and if you could completely shut it down like you did last year that's huge but at the very least you got to limit it and not make it too much of a a factor against your your defense yeah 100% I feel kind of bad that I didn't mention it um I should have mentioned it you know stopping the run but I think what what it was is that the lines were so good at stopping the run last year that's why I bring it up I really think you're just kind of used to it yeah I'm I'm used to them I really feel like that the run the running defense is going to be up there so going to be one of the top running defense even without DJ rer playing this game if DJ rer playing this game this is a complete lock down don't run you're just just pass Matthew Safford because you're not running on this but even without DJ rer I think even if without DJ rer I think this still going to be a really good run defense and I think they could limited um Williams in this game I'm I'm really not worried about Williams I'm really more worried about their wide receivers against our our secondary because the thing is we haven't really seen our secondary um we haven't seen him take any live I mean unless you were out in training camp or you know at that joint practice with the with the Giants you really didn't see any really live action with this this secondary um so this is the test right here man how are they going to react 100% 100% okay let's do some uh predictions so obviously being a Sunday night football game we had to do our locks the week before early in the morning and we had to tweet them out in the morning so we already have some results for our locks the weeks godamn it let's pull them up you you made the Tweet right don't even pull it up God damn it all right here we go here here are the locks of the week so Pierre took Texans minus three versus Indianapolis Colt tough break they won but they only won by two points um I took the Patriots plus seven and a half no one had faith in this one um Pats didn't just end up covering they ended up outright winning this game for Cincinnati Bengals God damn take my early dub of the year one to0 baby let's go and then you took the Falcons minus three not a believer in Buster Fields huh and the Pittsburgh Steelers making making a start last second man I thought Kurt Cousins and the Falcons and these young weapons and K cousin look like ass today man they look terrible yo TJ W was a freaking force today man that that's what I'm talking about I need him to be in that category man causing pressure every play just causing Havoc they're they're about to be on my band list I'm about to like not bet on them the whole year yeah they don't [ __ ] up one more time that's it I'm getting one more chance then that's it they're gonna be on my band list for the year yeah I mean Atlanta is uh that that was an embarrassing showcase not just on the field but their fans man that that was a home game technically that was a Pittsburgh home game Dam I saw terrible towels everywhere it was louder when it the Falcons run offense when the Steelers r on offense yeah yeah as far as Steelers fans yeah they they travel and they're everywhere too there like not only that they're everywhere but they travel so Steelers fans are gonna be everywhere we have we have a bunch of Steelers fans here in Miami they're just here I'm hoping the Lions fans could do a little bit of repeat what they did last year until all those Road stadiums we saw we we C some we we had some of those games last year man those were straight up home against for lions like that Buccaneers game that you went to last year it's so so pissed they were so mad they were so mad that we were happy that's that's the that's the great part of we we were like we're like really generally just happy that we're winning right now but they're like they're like oh you got like you want the goddamn Super Bowl you got you guys act like you should act like you met here before it was hilarious man oh man I loved it it's it's it's saw Lambo field I went to Lambo field last year too and I don't think it was as bad as the Buccaneers but there was a lot of there's a ton of lions fans if F Dam near 50-50 game and Lambo obviously you know those fans in be are very passionate so to see Lions kind of make it a 5050 not 5050 at least 4060 that that's significant man and I think there's gonna be a lot of lot of road games this year with the Lions take over again but were the were their fans salty that you guys were just happy in the beginning and it pissed me off 342 24 so obviously covering his bold prediction was a guy that is not on the active roster but he did get elevated on Saturday at four o'clock Tom Kennedy TK the guys that you know him as a preseason hero he says he's going to throw a passing touchdown in this football game today on Sunday night what the he's saying the whole world today is Tom wait wait wait wait Tom K's GNA throw a passive
