four days away we couldn't ask for a better opener between the Chiefs and the Ravens both Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson they've been so dominant in their season openers in their careers they rank first and second in touchdown to interception ratio among quarterbacks with at least five starts and openers since 1950 now momes he was asked what he admires about Lamar Jackson Terry wants tell he wants to go out there and win and he wants to put it on his shoulders to to take his team to the to where they can win as many games as possible and um I think that's something that's that's truly what it really takes to be a great quarterback in this league it's not always about Talent it's about can you go out there and compete every single week and and find a ways to whenever you don't have your best stuff your team doesn't have your best stuff you find ways to win football games that way this is a team that's a physical football team so you got to add that element into it um and they're good they've played together so they're good they're going to test your ability to execute on both sides of the ball and special teams so so it's important that we take care of business here these few days that we have to prepare and you've got to do that the right way okay as for the Ravens the last time they played was against the Chiefs it was in the AFC Championship game in Baltimore and the Chiefs pulled off a gritty win which spoiled L mer Jackson's MVP season he was asked if that sour taste makes it a Revenge game any game I play and I feel like it's a Revenge game so I'm not just going to look at this game Laing um a Revenge game anybody we played no matter if we beat him or lost to him prior uh previous years I just want to win it's an emotional game it's an emotional sport uh it's an emotional life don't isn't it I mean the things that you have in your life that you care about are important to you and you want to do well and you want to be successful uh those are all things that matter to all of us you know so no different for our guys so uh you know we talk about the things that that we need to do in terms of being successful that's what we talk about with the guys all the time Maris brown one of the chief's biggest offseason Edition will not play Thursday night season open against the Ravens coach Andy Reed said Hollywood won't be back this week but we'll see how it goes but the kid is amazing I mean he's progressing and has been incredible but I wouldn't predict him being there this week Brown dislocated his shoulder against the Chiefs first offensive player of the preseason the Chiefs will still have Xavier worthy their first round pick rasid Weiss rice the leading receiver and they resigned Juju uh Smith Shuster um he was there remember he won the Super Bowl oo then he got that big contract from the Chiefs but seemingly couldn't find couldn't stay healthy couldn't find his n there oh Cho who you like who you like who you like in this game um I mean listen Chiefs obviously Chief obviously I'm I'm kind of sad I'm kind of sad goddamn Hollywood Brown won't be able to play I think he has a grade one AC sprain I mean they say separated shoulder but if you watch the play you know when I hate when people dive on you when they tackle you and they drive you into the ground Drive I hate he probably got a grade one grade two AC spring so I'm I'm sure he'll be back next week but um I mean Chiefs Chiefs I'm I'm curious I'm curious to see what they're gonna look like offensively I'm curious to see how things open up for Travis Kelce because you had that speed and worthy and you know what's gonna be you know what's gonna be funny even though he's the fastest recorded combined draft Runner defensive coordinators are going to say and be very egotistical well you going to have to show me you still a rookie you have to prove yourself you have to prove you have to you gonna have to show me that we have to adjust our defense because of your speed matter of fact you know what we got Corners we feel can get up there and press you you gonna have to show us hell you can beat goddamn manto man up front you gonna have to show me so I'm curious to see what that offense is g to look like obviously they still have rased rice some other pieces Travis Kelsey gonna do what Travis Kelce does [Music] so I'm I'm curious I'm curious to see what they look like this year and I think they're they're going to do what they what they need to do to win and they still got that boy back there oh yeah oh that five I I I a't even have to mention him because I mean you know already know he gonna do what he do what he do every time the the moment is the moment is never too big for 15 boy yeah um they're probably gonna try to run the football they got dere the Ravens have Derrick Henry now play action should be um we're gonna see because the chief defense last year that kind of that's really what won he spags was on fire boy and I think the Personnel the Personnel that spags had allowed him to do some of the things he did he did losing lerus sne can McDuffy fill in the same role and do the same things that sne does did yeah to allow wants to McDuffy was the number one McDuffy was first team All Pro yeah but he ain't listen no disrespect but see what it was though is that you had two of them right so now we could cuz you know spags like to heat you up yeah I can heat you up because I got two guys that I believe that can hold their own now are you gonna be that's that's you know a lot of times when you got CJ uh kodus yeah they they got some pressure and remember one of their pass rushers he uh tore his ACL against the Ravens in the championship game he didn't play play in the Super Bowl oh number 91 oh I forgot his name I forgot his name yeah yeah I know you talk about yeah he sure did it's going to be interesting to see if he's back uh they bring some pieces back but defensively we it's gonna be interesting to see I'm an to see how the Ravens how they use Derrick Henry play action off of it you know uh Z flowers take that next St bman bit Yeah Andrews you got likely I wonder how they gonna do that I just thought about that they got like likely had a hell of a season last year when Mark Andrews went down I mean obviously Andre Andrews is that dude I just can't see them having likely on the bench like that n you run a d a lot of double tight ends you probably hey you run two tight ends right uh two two wide receivers in a back yeah I mean hey let's just go play bully ball yeah but again it's still it's still it's still a pass Happy League it's still a pass Happy League what the Ravens go down 14 what happen they go down 14 you can't sit back there and say oh we GNA run the ball and have 14 15 play drives when you got to put that air right I don't I don't want to see I don't want to see that happen I don't want to see them week one go into a hole trying to establish the Run that's what they try that's what you try to do to the Ravens you try to put them behind the eight ball try to take Lamar's legs out of it and not let him dictate you want to dictate it's a lot easier said than done yeah it is um but he's proven he's gotten incrementally better year after year throwing the football yeah that's what a lot more difficult than it was in the beginning oo right I like but still you still are you're more fearful I guarantee you ask any defensive coordinator they're still more fearful of his legs than his most definitely but I I like how he's evolved though over the years obviously we always talk about oh he's a runner he's a runner he's a runner he's a runner he's a runner this yes he's a runner but the past two years especially last year when he had chances to run instead of run he'll sit there and Pat it he'll sit in the pocket and be patient he'll want to throw before he runs as opposed to running when Reed number one's not there I didn't see I done seen two or three times I seen goddamn Lamar Jackson get back there get the ball and go through his progression one two three okay that ain't open let me go back to one okay one still in there okay now I'mma run as opposed to I'm locking in on one person you know year one and year two if that one person ain't there and I feel pressure man I'm peace sign I'm getting up out of here yeah he's definitely involved he's definitely gotten better um so it's gonna be interesting this is what they need they got a back a big back uh Keat Mitchell he T he was playing really well that boy fast as hell you know
