my pleasure to very very excited in talking about this film we see people that for lack of a better way to say it have lost their innocence somewhere along the way do you think or can you remember a time that losing your innocence made you grow up to be a better person or made you grow in a different direction I I don't really know if I lost my innocence ooh um if you're connecting innocence to adolescent you know being an adolescent being a child um you know there's a there's a verse that speaks to remaining childlike and you know other people have had five minutes of fame I had 30 seconds so every single day I wake up and I'm just in disbelief that something about something I'm doing still matters cuz I don't have that kind of talent and don't have that type of willpower this is all God's orchestration and I just wake up every single day just trying to figure out how to sustain it all and and more importantly just how do I get out of the way of what God is doing so yeah my innocence is because every day feels like Christmas you know like at first when I got on after the coke commercial um it was like like a glass slipper like my my life had just went from zero to Kaboom and I was waiting on the shoe to drop it felt like a rental car my blessings you know and you could be in there like man this and but at some point you got to get that car back this ain't no rental car I've been in this car for 30 years now listen I beg to differ you are definitely one of the more talented people in the b in the business they a whole bunch of people that can sing like you do and act like you do so I'mma I'm going give you your props in that way and just let you know that that's how we out here feel about you that is a that is a good question well thank you um wow speaking dude I keep it 100 okay speaking of singing can you remember what your favorite song from '92 was Dr Dre Snoop dropped a chronic in '92 one 2 three and the four I mean what we was doing out here on the West Coast was one of a kind and the most legendary hip-hop album ever The Chronic with Snoop and Dre was born into a war uh a crisis uh and they always say if you truly want some impact don't be discouraged from all of the delays and distractions and the traumas like something is about to happen that's so special the devil is trying to throw everything at you imagine able to stop you from giving birth to div Vision I do remember I do remember my father's film Unforgiven came out in 1992 oo look at you and I one best picture yes Unforgiven yes uh so I do remember that as a kid and I remember that being also an a moment in my history yeah it probably was in Middle School mhm and it probably it probably was the first time I smoked pot but being really honest you are keeping it 100 okay Scott Eastwood I see you yeah you're like oh man like that was yeah that was a moment that was a moment that's definitely a moment I'm a teenager okay you're freaking hilarious and I just go Circle it back around to this question today we had Sandra Massie in '92 we had Rodney King do you think that we'll ever get to a point where we can trust the police department no I think it starts with them it's you got to think of it like HR like race relations training um and there's this predisposed thought and intentionality that black and brown people don't N/A matter so I wake up in this black skin every day and just hoping that I could see another birthday and I'm not cripping blood and there's no dope being sold I'm not out here with no ill will and intentions but I could get buried just like somebody else was on a Podium preaching it's a it's a wild world that we're living in right now and and while cameras used to discourage cameras and going viral encourages people to take their evil up a few levels um and so yeah I think I think the infrastructure in and around building out a proper Police Department with race relations and training and getting them to understand this is how we feel when you say and when you do and when you treat us like and you know like put some real protocols in place for how people are being pulled over it's going to be crazy people everywhere that's why the police is necessary but you can't be a clu clux Clan member in a uniform thank you for that prolific and profound answer that is my time but before I go I just want to thank you for letting this carel brown sister have an opportunity to speak to you this is a bucket list for me and I appreciate you taking the time I really do thank you so much you deserve everything you have don't ever let anybody make you feel bad about it oh for sure you made the decision to get it and you're still getting it for sure so use your stage and your platform and keep rocking it I will rock it all the way to the top Pap that's it I ought to know beautiful pain is dropping on Friday August 30th same day as 1992 it's a double album executive produced by legendary David Foster and my producer Brandon bam Hodge it's all live it's 20 songs and if you pre-order right now on Tyrese dotv it's going to be at your door Labor Day weekend double album I got on all of this cuz I'm still shooting a short film dedicated to my mother with the song wildf flower oh that's so I can't wait to peel all this off I thought it was new look honey I was scared to ask thank you thank you so much thank you slide about so I loved Ray Leota for a variety of reasons and I was fortunate enough to be able to talk to him um once for a film that he did but for you working with him what is something that you remember from a life perspective or from an acting perspective that he dropped on you that will just live with you forever you know I really I think will cherish the summer that I got to spend with him making this film uh getting to hear about um working with legendary directors like Martin Scorsese uh Doing Good Fellows uh how that was at that time getting to hear about his journey in this film business I I I thought was really great um yeah he was a he was a great guy he was no you probably know you got what you got with him yeah you did uhuh yeah um but yeah you know I'll cherish that and rest in peace the way your character's trajectory played out in the film do you feel like that could be something that a father and son dynamic often is within life or is this something that you think would only exist in a screenplay no I think it's I think I think father son's Rel Father and Son relationships are often complicated uh maybe not as complicated I hope not for most Fathers and Sons that is not as complicated as as mine was with in this film however I think it is uh very common to have a complicated relationship between your father and your and your son um and I I thought that was one one of the more interesting parts of the story that it really paralleled two Father and Son relationships and their complexities and the nuance and that created a lot of conflict cool yeah well Scott Eastwood this has been lovely I need to talk to you more often absolutely come on down we need to make that happen let's do it all right thank you all right thank you
