Stefan Holt. Thanks so much for being with us. Well, that was something the presidential election, just 56 days away. And tonight, for the first time, voters got to see Kamala Harris and Donald Trump come face to face in Philadelphia. How did both candidates come across? And did they sway those undecided Americans? We have team coverage for you tonight on the debate and voter reaction. We want to begin with our political reporter, Mary Ann Ahern with the takeaways from tonight's matchup. Marianne. Allison, what a difference from the June debate tonight. It was Donald Trump who was on defense. And Kamala Harris, as the former prosecutor, was clearly prepared for this big night from the start. Kamala Harris crossed the stage to shake Donald Trump's hand. Kamala Harris It did not take long for both Trump and Harris to attack one another. The economy. The first disagreement. I was going to send her a Maga hat. She's gone to my philosophy. But if she ever got elected, she'd change it. And it will be the end of our country. She's a Marxist. 16 Nobel laureates have described his economic plan as something that would increase inflation, and by the middle of next year would invite a recession. While Harris showed some nerves at first when they tackled abortion, that was not the case. She was in her element as far as the abortion ban. No, I'm not in favor of abortion ban, but it doesn't matter because this issue has now been taken over by the states. I absolutely support reinstating the protections of Roe v Wade. And as you rightly mentioned, nowhere in America is a woman carrying a pregnancy to term. And in asking for an abortion, Trump did not look directly at Harris throughout the evening when it came to immigration. Harris clearly getting under Trump's skin. And I'm going to invite you to attend one of Donald Trump's rallies, because it's a really interesting thing to watch. And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom. Trump repeated a social media post that one of the moderators interrupted to say, it just is not true. In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They're eating, they're eating the pets of the people that live there. The January 6th riot, Trump was asked anything he regretted. Trump instead turned to what about all the people that are pouring into our country and killing people that she allowed to pour in? She was the border czar outside the convention hall, a big pro-Palestinian protest. It took nearly an hour through this debate for the candidates to address the war in Gaza. She hates Israel. She wouldn't even meet with Netanyahu when he went to Congress to make a very important speech. She refused to be there because she was at a sorority party. That's absolutely not true. I have my entire career and life supported Israel and the Israeli people. He knows that he's trying to again divide and distract. Here is what matters. The independent voters in those swing states, Kamala Harris had the most to lose, as voters wanted to see if she could hold her own. She did. Now we'll see if perhaps Donald Trump asks for one more debate that will be
