the Red Corner fighting out of Las Vegas Nevada TB FL welome [Music] guys your jab is great your jab is great rple the jab got to work a little bit more you're waiting for him don't wait for him Gotti the [Applause] third we waited and it was indeed worth the wait as we just saw one of Floyd Mayweather's most anticipated exhibition bouts John let's have a quick word for the crowd and for the very first time since the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 we saw the hands of an opponent raised against Floyd Mayweather a minute to go around but more than that for the very first time we saw Floyd Mayweather lay on the canvas and despite the fact that he was able to make the count the referee deemed him unfit to continue the fight no one had expected this outcome not even after what happened between them when they fought a year ago however John Gotti seemed to have done his assignment well intensely studying the fighting style of the past and present Floyd Mayweather nice did you see those re hence he was able to calculativeness [Music] boxing record besides he is 40 years old and is less active compared to his opponent off the ropes the arena cdmx in Mexico City came alive once it was time for the main event as fans were looking forward to an action packed bout between the pair the fight began with a super aggressive John Gotti that kept throwing everything at Floyd Mayweather perhaps something in him kept telling him it was a real fight been locked in off finally a jab from Gotti as tight as Floyd's defense was he kept eating combinations and strong hooks from Gotti he definitely wasn't prepared for this version of Gotti and it took him the whole 2 minutes of the first round to gain his rhythm anoy little peekaboo hands all high it was expected that both Fighters were fueled by strong emotions from the pains and complications of their last meeting and it played out just that way John Gotti seemed the most furious of the two as he suffered the most punishment from the their last time out being the active fighter of the two he was suspended for 6 months got while Mayweather got better in the second round John Gotti was still the better fighter at this point the crowd began to erupt in support of Gotti it was evident that age was beginning to tell on Floyd Mayweather and the defensive master was eating countless punches from his opponent I think Floy is trying not to get tough Mayweather would be glad each round last for Just 2 minutes as he looked exhausted going into the third once they began Gotti was relentless again and all that was saving Mayweather at this point was his defensive art careful his shoulder rolls were so helpful as he resorted to them whenever he was pushed into the corner towards the end of the round Mayweather looked More Alive as Gotti looked calmer Mayweather kept firing to cause more damage but Gotti was Saved by the [Music] Bell it looked like the most competitive round so far moving to the fourth Gotti was more relaxed again calculating his hits more and trying to escape punches as well Mayweather found his rhythm again and kept coming at John Gotti although Mayweather wasn't doing that carelessly as his defense remained his priority and they're talking he at you his defense and footwork began to give hints of Money Mayweather and he looked more settled in the ring after the first half of the fight John Gotti's Corner seemed to question why he was approaching the fight calmly they charged him to be as aggressive as he was in the early rounds and like a robot he downloaded their information and went to execute in the ring he got in there and began throwing combinations with each successfully landing on Floyd's head he three till he moved Floyd from one corner to the other and now he's talking to Gotti oh yeah he see like I say to yell at him yeah rather than escape the punches Floyd kept getting into danger and was soon on the canvas there was a deafening cheer among the crowd once that happened and despite the boxing Legend getting on his feet almost immediately the referee deemed him unfit to continue the fight eventually John Gotti won the rematch and had the perfect Revenge I told you he I told you he going but immediately Mayweather called for a Trilogy which would be the first of its kind for an exhibition fight this wasn't the case when he entered the ring in his last professional fight one of the most improbable fights one between an all-time great and Floyd Mayweather and an opponent Conor McGregor making his professional boxing debut ended in the most probable Way Conor if Conor can keep things moving wanted to Parry the jab of McGregor it ended with a dominant Mayweather stopping an outclass McGregor by technical knockout in the 10th round of their massively hyped Junior middleweight fight on a Saturday night 7 years ago before 14,623 well under capacity at T-Mobile Arena five times needs to be that kind of aggressive he's a happy man right now presenting himself well after six minutes and again Mayweather who moved his record to a historic 50 zero with 27 Knockouts said after the fight he would return to retirement this was my last fight tonight for sure Mayweather said tonight was my last fight tonight I chose the right dance partner to dance with Connor you are a hell of a champion with the victory Mayweather surpassed the hallowed 49 zero Mark that great heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano retired with it's not a boxing record but it is revered playoffs before came back for 21 months when he was 30 years old to face ju man Mar there are some who said that beating an opponent with no boxing experience was a disgraceful way to pass Marciano but Mayweather made no apologies a win is a win no matter how you get it said Mayweather who said during the buildup that he would consider it a failure if he didn't score a knockout Rocky Marciano is a legend and I look forward to going into the Hall of Fame one day mreg looking for the money that hurt Mayweather there was no logical reason to give McGregor the UFC's 155lb champion and one of the best mixed martial artists in the world but not a boxer A Chance in a boxing ring but that didn't stop Legions from cheering for the underdog but in the end it was Mayweather a five Division World Champion and the greatest fighter of his era whose class shine through after a bit of a a slow start which he said was part of his game plan best for Floy McGregor really gassed a little bit he's taking some punches trying to throw back 13 years ago Floyd Mayweather picked up perhaps the most controversial win of his Fame career as he defeated Victor Ortiz via fourth round knockout Floyd Mayweather Jr versus Victor Ortiz build his star power was a championship fight for Ortiz's WBC Welterweight Title the bout was held on September 17th 2011 at the MGM Grand in Paradise Nevada one of the things and can also make the talk about Nevada after a heated buildup to the contest Money Mayweather entered as a heavy favorite fresh off his win over Sugar Shane Mosley and boasting an unblemished 41 zero record at the time in the early stages of the bout Mayweather would demonstrate that The Bookies were right to Back Him dominating the early stages of the fight and taking the opening three rounds on two of the judges scorecards from round one Mayweather used his speed skills and accurate right hand to tag Ortiz repeatedly oh he D up Mayweather seemed in control through the first three rounds and he was ahead on all scorecards as the judges scored 3027 3027 29 28 for Mayweather emboldened by Ortiz's inactivity in giving up the first three rounds Mayweather opened up on him in the fourth with a wicked colle ction of head shot from all angles but in the fourth round Ortiz found some success Landing a few shots and stinging Mayweather before backing him into the corner Ortiz started to land some offense of his own and while he certainly wasn't winning the fight he was starting to make the contest competitive in his perfect game plan but Mayweather then late in the fourth round Ortiz landed a glancing right hook and proceeded to throw the kitchen sink at Mayweather the Kansas native fired a flurry of left and right hands to his opponent's head and body but barely any landed as Mayweather's excellent defense Shone through Ortiz then caught his man on the ropes and let fly Mayweather was briefly inconvenienced there followed however the weirdest ending to a fight since Evander Holyfield lost an ear to Mike Tyson in 1997 back look over the hand he lunched for with Ortiz battered Mayweather on the ropes as he reacted to the r ing temperature of the contest but when he blatantly rammed him with his head the farce began Ortiz hit Mayweather in the face with an apparently intentional headbutt busting open a cut on the inside and outside of Mayweather's mouth Referee Joe Cortez immediately called time out and penalized Ortiz a point for the foul Ortiz seemingly acknowledging his wrongdoing hugged and kissed Mayweather in the corner Cortez motioned the fighters back together to resume the fight the fighters touched gloves and Mayweather seemed to half heart ly return another hug from Ortiz then with Cortez looking away from Mayweather and as the fighters separated from the hug Mayweather caught Ortiz with a left hook oh and then Ortiz was stunned by the punch and still not raising his hands to defend himself was hit with a flush right to the face Ortiz dropped straight onto the canvas and was unable to beat Cortez's count he was on his knees grabbing the when the count reached 10 I took the break exactly as I was told and then he blindsided me Ortiz said I'm not a dirty fighter and I apologize for the headbutt as far as I'm concerned I came to entertain the fans and I think I did that there was mixed communication with the referee it was a learning experience so I did as I obeyed they know I obeyed exactly as I was told and uh I looked at the I came out here to to show the fans you know a good time and um as far as I'm concerned I think they did in the ring you have to protect yourself at all times Mayweather said after it happened we touched gloves and we were back to fighting and then I threw the left hook and right hand after the break you just got to protect yourself at all times after the interviewer Larry Merchant pressed Mayweather on whether or not what he did was unsportsmanlike Mayweather told the interviewer he never gives him a fair shake and should be fired thank God for for this Victory uh that came out to Las Vegas thank you it was a hell of a fight he done something dirty uh we not here to cry and complain about what he did Dirty what I did dirty so I'm going go and let you talk to Victor Ortiz all right I'm through they put somebody else up and give me an interview Cortez plainly thought it was a Fair ending but the 22,000 fans who booed the winner for several minutes then loudly acclaimed the loser were of a different opinion I would say the fault was marginally with Ortiz who although disoriented by the left clip to his jaw should have been aware of the danger he was ultimately outsmarted by a man who has not always followed the rules of life but certainly knows the ways of the Jungle John Gotti on the other hand has just two professional fights against Albert Tully and Alex satosi with two wins one by knockout and one by a unanimous decision Victory against Alex cusi all right we's see if Gotti has that Killer Instinct in boxing as he does in MMA and there it is another knockdown I'm Johnny Callis just call this off now I don't really see a whole lot of point in letting this continue he won with a first round knockout after knocking his opponent down several times in just one round
