Rich Rodriguez Suggests He Have a Statue at Alabama

this we all know this I said where's my damn statue down here I'm probably responsible on six and a half inches you know the whole difference on that okay you would get an invite a good honor but I'll uh I mean they hired you know it's kind of even Odyssey coach David in Iowa from the same area same Hometown really in Western but he's a lot older than me he's a few years older than me but uh I've told everybody I said you know I'm what I see what what uh coaches did I mean he's the greatest I think he's the greatest football coach at any level anytime and I don't know if any I don't if anybody would have been able to do that I would like to think he's going down in one maybe a couple but what he did is I mean it'll be hard to replicate but being in Alabama you know where football's important it's fun to coach you know I think everybody wants a coach for football is important you know there are places where you coach and then you know when your players leave your building and I walk around town you know football is just not as big a deal whatever and I wanted to be somewhere where football is important and it is important here in Alabama it's here reporting in Jacksonville I know it's important in Tuscaloosa so uh but they got in you know Greg Byrne is a close friend of mine who hired me at Arizona's down there I think he's one of the best athletic directors in the country I think he's involved in I don't know if he went on the trip to Washington DC or not uh uh but anyway they've got good guys like Greg and Nick and and guys they're smart guys that understand what's best for the game so hopefully we'll get that fixed
