The lending company, Navient is now banned from servicing federal student loans and must pay millions as part of a new settlement in a lawsuit. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau accused the company of misleading students and processing their payments incorrectly. Navient will pay $100 million to those impacted borrowers and $20 million as a fine eligible borrowers will receive a check directly from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
