be a little rough anyway Mrs good stuff hey it's good to see you we go early today because I have to I have to clock in early at work so at least I get to work uh Rob buing sent me a Scrappy and sauce number one I'm having trouble getting it out of the boarding bag which is you know it's tight fitting uh he Shi it very this was his crowdfunder you didn't catch it you need to hit Rob up for a copy for sure um I'm G have to ask him about this coloration on the okay maybe that was intentional it looks kind of strange but anyway this going in a new board and back because it's 32 pages of tightly packed in there that I really don't want to manhandle it too much there we go coming through I just want the book but you know in that case it's just easier to pull that out take it off the board let's see what kind of back we got ah white back so I can handle it all right so that can go like this should be a coated side some are double coated anyway I'll use that uh but for something smaller uh I recommend the Silver age board and bag uh they have like a normal uh normal size they say and silver how that works I don't know but look at that you have a little bit of space for if you drop it and okay I want to get this out now right look at that just comes right out if if you can't get it out without actually touching the book you got it packed in there too tight sorry sorry Rob um little just little hint you know and uh to take this bad boy up well not maybe not this one okay let me find something here uh from yesterday's uh because I'll be wanting to watch I'll be wanting to look at that and read that okay all right Young Blood number three I already read it when it came out okay although I don't remember my copy having bad rock or Bedrock as he was originally called till Hannah Barbara sued them okay so Scotch 3M no uh Magic tape only the magic brand made by them only thing I use well okay they got they got a pretty close second to that but and I took a chance on it bought bought out uh plac was relocating had this markdown very affordable bought uh like five or six rows in a bundle you know I think I paid about 75 bucks total for tape and still got a whole big bin of it it um and I still buy this magic tape for my collection other books that I'm going to sell or not gonna you know I use uh Reuben Ruban R uba an invisible type you might be able to find this I don't know but I bought a ton of it and it and it it's pretty good but it's secondary to this you can find this I picked this just picked this row up today which I have some more in there I just don't want to run out of it because I knew had yesterday's Cash award uh Texas state will be joining us uh later and Shadow Haw but I'm going early so that I can clog in at 5:45 at work um so GNA take this bad boy up with some magic tape there we go I have some of these to uh that I boarded and bagged yesterday that need to be taped shut um some of them I might want to look through right but uh right lost two great artists yesterday and didn't even know about John till today um hey Nikki uh didn't even didn't even know iess I guess I look through most of this stuff before I pack it away you never know what I'll be hiding that I never see but I definitely want to get these boarded and bagged uh but I'm I'm not a multitasker uh so here we go so I got my scrappi and sauce thank you rob uh in the mail that's great uh working on head sketches got them all mixed up because I got a got my cut my hair cut today and uh I wanted to take her and she was like blond away I mean look look at this stack that's not all of them but I've been working since the first of the year uh on these head sketches for everybody and I pick from the very best to the best and leave the rest maybe I can find they're all mixed up maybe I can find my latest and greatest uh maybe this is just a portion of them I know this is is and everything uh I never find it that needs to there okay all right there's a couple that I did okay think I showed that one maybe that one yesterday had them on bottom okay so I don't if I showed this one anyway uh uh there's bog I did um might have showed this one yesterday I can't remember but um these are the latest ones in this one I did not because I did this today [Music] or I don't know I got it dated yesterday so maybe I did it yesterday probably yeah last night before midnight yeah uh right before I went to bed uh anyway yeah need this is a thicker one this one shot uh was thinking it might be a Cassidy I don't know but have to look it up and see new Avengers finale I don't know but um he sh h early today yeah going early today got to so let me put this in a new boarding bag though this one's not use it's usable it's not too bad it really doesn't look like a David Finch I mean I do have several warning read Sage 4 before this book okay never seen that before where it's like recommending you read certain book before you read you may be lost see this might be Cassidy's work in it let see the credits I I I think I already have this book there Shadow Hawk and Texas Dave you look down and here you are hi guys hey well I had to go had to go early away yesterday well so did John Cassidy and the cassiday however you want to say it um I don't know if you're familiar with this work but after I show you a few images you probably will be been around huh I said more than likely once I see some of it it his signature looked like an i because he had a j and a c and he backed them back to back so it always confused me it looked like an i I think I know what you're talking about yeah yeah yeah that's the way he signed his stuff and I'll show you the signature but uh uh do you do you know John Cassidy uh uh artwork U Dave I'm not sure Rex like Shadow if I see it I might recognize it okay well he worked on like a Captain America run uh you know I I I was fortunate enough to get a lot of his um X-Men uh astonishing X-Men he did astonishing X-Men covers I assume he did the inside too I hated the uh the Beast as a cat um oh that was later issues yeah yeah it was around 2006 2007 that he was working on astonishing X-Men as I remember because I was getting you know he worked on planetary um but he had a Captain America run there that I was picking up too um when I was buying long boxes worth of stuff um right here uh and I do have some of his planetary stuff too here's here's an example of like uh four different things he worked on Star Wars Captain America planetary and astonishing X-Men and he was only like 52 or 50 five he was born in 71 so you do the math there's some discrepancy I hate that when someone dies and they and you have conflicting ages you know just just can't we look up their birthday and then do the math and get it correct you know oh we're so sorry but we you know we respected him so much that we get his birth we get his age wrong right he did planetary for Warren Ellis and some astonishing X-Men yeah uh I've got I have a lot of those um and uh though it's Captain America I mean I didn't get all those but I I got quite a few of the Captain America covers that he did um just by buying like long boxes of stuff you know um here's a Star Wars uh never got any Star Wars stuff that I know of um so think I had that Star Wars cover the previous well he did it yeah that was something he did uh I know I've got a ton of his stuff um you might have this one as well Dave this is a a one that's being shown a director's cut of the this particular issue yeah I've seen I kind of like that when they when they do it in color like the upper Parts in color but they fight it to the line work they black and white yeah it's quite quite effective yeah they've done that on a few things I know I've got like a Spider-Man director's cut and thing like that you know that they've done uh he did some Hellboy too right you can tell this cat's been missing me by the way because this is only our second night back on oh yeah here was like a convention thing or something that he did for somebody there's a see the signature down there might be a little small for you Shadow hog but oh yeah yeah I've recognized seen that before yeah yeah so apparently he did at least one shot of Hellboy I don't know how much Hellboy he did but yeah I'm not super familiar with him it sounds like he did a lot of stuff after 2000 so yeah I mean I didn't I mean I kind of stopped reading comics round about the late 90s well I I mean I was just fortunate I guess to pick up some of that stuff at the time you know and I mean I've always I mean like is Captain America stuff you know it's like wow you know uh yeah very cool it was kind of you know hit or miss on on some of it some of it was better than others but it always kind of caught caught your attention apparently he worked on Batman as well or I don't know just different things uh this was a planetary book that I have where he's like got a PE a jigsaw puzzle I thought that was pretty neat this is kind of a closeup of that but I I've got a lot of his stuff that I wouldn't normally have unless you know unless I bought those long boxes and stuff that's how I wound up with a lot of stuff from Ethan uh I didn't find out exactly what [Music] um uh why he passed away uh I believe I had this one as well uh that that was like one of those Stan Lee just imagine uh stanlee uh does crisis and that's a codyy cover of like the different U sort of Amalgamated characters because the just imagine was kind of like that and this is they did the individual books like Joe cubert did the Batman or man he was kind of like Batman and man bat combined and I think Joe cubert drew that um and the Flash was like female she's down there in the corner barely and eventually after they did so many single stories then they started doing like the group stories like this um I just kind of did a search under his name to see what would come up uh see if I can bring up this individual piece I like the Retro Batman that's that's a piece done by him I like that with the little little gloves and just the bat across his chest no yellow and the cow is definitely different what do you think Shadow Haw you like Batman like that sort of like the original Batman or you there unmuted but not there okay Batman GNA and he carried a gun just like that showed you know look like he crime doesn't pay crime mustn't pay he says looks like he's gonna shoot back of the head oh you're back okay well now here's one of those St Irma Frost is holding back the uh the blast of Cyclops oh cool with the glow prettyy neat cover he had some neat covers on that run uh here's a Thor piece he did although this looks like stormbringer the axe it's going up against uh apocalypse there it looks like is apocalypse supposed to be that big uh apocalypse is DC I thought oh please really oh yeah okay I don't know this man I've never known this man I'll never know this man uh let's see oh I wanted to ask you about this Batman pretty decent huh it's kind of like going back like to the old Bob Kane you know Batman with the gun and I'm not on the lavender gloves there but okay yeah and I don't know if he had lavender gloves back when or whatever but I don't know yeah he looks pretty he looks pretty cool right there though yeah I mean this looks like the original Batman where he carried a pistol and he his cow looks about right you know like it was originally drawn with no yellow behind the the bat on it you know just bat the Batman not the bat with the yellow circle that's right it's the bat signal man bat signal man right here is one of his Captain America minus the uh you know uh logo and Marvel banner and all that good stuff but he did a great he did some you know some of the best Captain America back in 200 I'd say five six seven eight whatever around there about 2006 or seven um he did some great stuff here's a here's just the artwork Min the that was one of his astonishing X-Men covers after Cyclops that kind of blasted through and that stinking blasted Beast looking like a cat it's nicely drawn he's got some heft to his body but you know I just never lik the cat look and whoever brought that in cursing to the day he dies because I never I never looked at the Beast uh as a cat and he was never portrayed I never really thought of him as cat like either yeah gotta be in with the times I guess right uh I I guess this was one of the uh the covers although I don't have this particular issue where he's leaping out of a helicopter but he was one of those that always did that chain mail sort of overlapping like shingled on his body yeah yeah I like that don't talk about shingles oh now now speaking of well not speaking of that how how is that going for you oh I'm a lot better to know thanks Rex it's a few weeks ago since I had it so you had had a second flare up of it no luckily it's not come back again so we're we're all good okay that's good that's good there's a there's a closer look at his Beast uh he's definitely got some body mass to him but he's got that damn cat face you know he doesn't look right to me he doesn't look right no I always looked at him as more Sim in more yeah more apik yeah yeah I mean now cat's got agility and he's got you know but I mean yeah but so do freaking Apes I mean they're agile is all get out and it might been a w it might have been a wtif story um that you know the Beast was uh said you know when he kept mutating what if he and and maybe in some of the stories that he was like trying to find a cure for not being blue but I always looked at I mean at least when I was reading The Avengers the Beast didn't mind at that point being blue and being more Beast he he was actually a m for women at least that's the way they portrayed him um you know that he was fine in his own skin that he wasn't like wish it wasn't blue I'm just ostracized by Society you know um he was always confident and kind of like Spider-Man cracking jokes all the time while he was cracking heads you know uh but he was always I mean even before the the gr first the gray fur for a very short time and then the blue fur he was You Know Jack Kirby from X-Men number one he was always swinging around by his toes and his hands like an ape you know that's right so and that's the way I think the greatest artist that probably ever Dre him was George Perez at least that's what kind of got me you know and I liked his depiction I think he defined one of characters that he really liked and really defined for all time and then when the in the early two or mid 2000s when they were doing the cat thing I was like well F me you know you take you take a but I mean they did it with Superman right he's got the most iconic costume it works and then they change it why yeah well you you know why that that's Iron Man he's got one of he's got several suits got it but why go to the red and silver which does not look good to him they've since I've seen one design recently with the red and silver that works that actually works pretty good yeah and I can't remember exactly where I saw it but it was like now that works because it's it's better thought out than the one that I mean I I even like the uh you know bulky gold you know like definitely yeah yeah better than that that red silver one oh they need to do a story where he's like transmit where he's like transporting to like a a storage facility right all the old armor like the gold armor or the gray armor and stuff like that some of the they a couple of Batman issues where you like calling it but Hydra or aim attack him and then he has to get in the old armor again to save the day that would be cool right yeah but I'm just spitballing here right I don't know how to write a story but anyway what do you know here's John Cassy and I have a few of these he did Long Ranger no no kidding all right I Sil yeah he did some great uh Long Ranger uh and I'm trying to think who that was through was that I'm not sure who published it um IDW maybe something like that maybe IDW maybe Dynamite dyn yeah maybe Dynamite yeah yeah I know Dynamite have had a few different uh characters have' covered over the years yeah yeah including the shadow I think oh okay but uh you know I I picked up a lot of his stuff here's some of his planetary design um I picked a lot a lot of these somebody's at the door hold on get re is off to find out who's at the door s who goes there well I take it you got back Shadow from your uh travel yeah I made it man damn thing is still running rougher and [ __ ] I mean I've done all I can so far um but at least she's still running so I don't know I'm still trying to get a hold of my mechanics got there and back just have you still not hold of them yet it's just no no I still haven't heard from him yet I don't know what happened to him hopefully he's all right not like yeah it's not like them to just disappear for three days and not at least send me a text message or something you know no unless she's on holiday somewhere yeah that or I don't know maybe he went out on the weekend and got picked up and tossed in jail or something too you never know you don't do you I mean I don't do that kind of [ __ ] anymore but some of the people that you know that I'm friends with are are they still go out and still man I stopped doing that [ __ ] like 10 years ago it's just not worth it anymore yeah I mean you go out and have one beer now you got to sit there for an hour before you can drive home or they can legally get you for being drunk yeah it's the same in this country too a greater L degree I would say yeah and and noway I mean man they're getting to the point where you can't even walk anymore it used to be you could just leave your car and walk home and the cops would be like oh good job you know we appreciate it now they pick you up and charge you with public intoxication I don't think they've gone that far here yet well thank god England's got pubs everywhere I yeah well that's it as far as I know unless unless you're causing trouble you know by F right like yeah if you're making a spectacle just mind you know if you're just minding your own business I don't think that happens here no that's yeah know I've seen it happen here a few times matter of fact few years back a buddy of mine told me a story um he was up at the uh you know the uh Elks Club it's like a I don't know if you've ever heard of it in England but it's like like an older gentleman's type kind of thing you know people that like like a rotary club or something like that you know yeah um and they'll do you know different events throughout the year what have you but Gentleman's Club maybe yeah kind of yeah yeah they're having some kind of party over there and this older gentleman a veteran is I mean because it's the American Legion so you got to be a veteran to even be a member um was in the bar and was obviously drunk so he called in Uber and there happened to be an off-duty cop sitting in the bar that saw this guy getting ready to leave knowing he was drunk called one of his buddies to wait for him outside and as soon as he walked out the door of the American Legion they picked him up for public intoxication didn't even let him take his Uber home that's just sad no is but a lot of these municipalities you know they make a lot of money off that yes so another long story about Shad Hawk which I have no idea what he's saying anyway any say why you can't pay attention for more than three seconds Mr goldfish well he has been he has been occupied Shadow for the last minute or so I guess yeah well I I could have looked through the P poo it was a Salesman security system already got one doing a broadcast gotta go bye uh pump in [Music] in okay whatever this is I think that's meant to be drunk in Republic mispelling there or it might be deliberate bye Goblin I I I believe that's a a deliberate drunken misspell by tree go very nice very nice that's why spelled it that way yeah I'm not I'm not I'm not as drunk as you think I am exactly I'm not not as think as you drunk I am there you go another John Cassy piece oh oh did you notice the title it say too soon it says goon too soon I'm gonna have to change that it's Gone Too Soon yeah wow talking about disrespectful right that's a that's a typ por a he might have drawn you know and he's complaining about the guy getting a date wrong holy yeah Cy had some great great covers uh yeah like I said I'm not too familiar with him but he had the kind of a clean classic style it looks like well I'm the same I'm not too familiar with them either yeah here's a splash page I think from astonishing X-Men what I've seen of him yeah he's pretty good that Colossus looks like freaking bulked up though Boy geez well I mean he bulked up the Beast too yeah that's true well oh you know what I was going to mention to you now you remember when Jim Le took back over the X-Men in what was that 2000 or whatever uh he went back to the classic beast and Drew him quite well I thought yes he did and I like that U and I'm not even sure that the I'm not even sure that cat don't think the cat version was out at that time though I I don't think it I don't think that have gotten there yet I don't I'm not sure here's another from that Captain America run very cool I do not have this particular issue I'd like that I'd like to get all those because every one of his covers were bangers in in its own reminds me of something like Michael golden would do okay I mean just the the [Music] style like even recently I don't know if you saw he did a uh cover for uh PTP for Johnny fantasm and it was kind of similar to that Captain America cover see here is the silver and red costume and that just with the with the tri uh triangle it just doesn't work man I don't like it and you some of his earier costumes toight yeah he needs to definitely mothball that one um yeah or or or like I saw recently redesign it um here was a he did Union Jack that was pretty cool being torn apart or something going on with him what happened to Jack I like I like I like Union Jack he's probably my favorite British I I would pick him over um Captain Britain but that's only I I just like the Union Jack costume and yeah I like his costume I'm and and I saw him back in the 70s you know whereas Captain Britain not so much you know but but I would still like this character better really I mean as far as the costume yeah Captain Britain I don't think I saw until had to been in the 80s at some point it was earlier than not for me shadow yeah um well yeah you're what I mean I think it was through Dynamite I'm not sure it might have been IDW but he did some Battlefield I've got some of his covers I really do and they're cool and they're I mean the reason I I have some stuff I either bought it like at Hastings discounted or in Long boxes when I was doing that type of thing and you know they extra stuff but his stuff was good enough it was like wow okay good cover or decent not I wouldn't pay what they want you know cover price hey Carrie but I would I would definitely you know it's a it's nicely designed and uh right I you know I've got got some of his Battlefield uh books and stuff uh because of it um he was doing that with G inis uh the the War uh here's another one he's he's definitely got a design sensibility about his stuff don't have that one and then here's another one don't have that but that that was a while back that again we're talking some of his earlier stuff around 2005 or six when that I think I don't that type thing and I don't know if he let's see I'm not GNA show okay here we go here's some of his I don't know if this has been trimmed down you know or if this was exactly how it was presented it looks like it would have a logo on it but uh don't even know what ex character is but there's the yeah sureform I have seen a couple now see the knee is sideways so the so the foot can be sideways he oh Mak sense if it lines up I think I may know what you're talking about there uh without bringing up any names comic unbelievably yes it was an actual kind yeah and uh Believe It or Not Blue Harvest has one up on his wall and um uh signed why well did [ __ ] the that idiot in the ripe has got one of his new characters has got blood power she has she like man manipulates blood so I'm assuming she could do the whole you know menstrual cycle thing as Sam's a Satanist tree Goblin says well so is Donnie Kates and his wife so you know explainy Avengers um he did do a vicious looking Red Skull that's pretty cool yeah it's it's kind of hypnotic with the uh R here's uh here's a panel from him with Red Skull I don't know if he's looks like he's channeling his some sort of mental image behind him I wonder what that character is behind him almost looks like the heat back there or something I guess it's just kind of I don't know oh that's pretty neat try to blow it up here a little bit probably in you in uncanny Avengers which came out around 2006 or seven somewhere in there dude I can't tell who any of those background characters are supposed to be well you're on a small yeah I know they I blew I'm blowing them up and looking at them I mean yeah well I mean they look all like all new characters that yeah I think so like they might have designed new characters for that series a new team for yeah new villainous team uh yeah I didn't recognize any one of them neither did I I don't know what this is from but uh talking about his page layout looks like some kind of Colossus or something Hulk not sure what that is it's like uh almost look like kind creete yeah covered in stone or something do you know the title I'm talking about re concrete oh yeah concrete yeah Pete pet Paul Chadwick's concrete yeah i' got a few used to have her first appearance and everything I here's a here's a Captain America and Bucky that he did that's cool yeah he did some great Captain America covers I mean yeah he's got very much a feel yeah and and here's a signature which threw me off all the time yeah that's crazy I remember seeing that a few times and being like what the hell it looks like an eye to me it's always looked like an eye and I was like it you know it's like can't we sign our damn signatures anymore why do we have to just do our initials of course I do a symbol so I I can't really say yeah so what do you complain about yeah I just never developed a uh a good you know signature here's some of his fantastic for I'm just gonna stop worrying about it I'm just going to get a little shadoow Hawk stamp just start stamping everything that's wild I mean whoever colored that or I mean the white it's just wild how he drew that just the way it looks definitely different yeah I mean it's thing there it's like I don't know man that looks kind of yeah I'm not too big on that Mr Fantastic costume either that's kind of cool though with Hulk holding or shehulk on it mhm oh now that's neat battle scene oh I guess I guess with the X-Men and Fantastic 4 against Godzilla I guess is that Godzilla Godzilla got those things on his elbows no I don't know who that's supposed to be it's not Godzilla well lizard representation for today anyway maybe look if if if new storm is supposed to be so powerful all she would have to do is smother somebody out every time put a dome around her hair yeah put a bubble around their head and you're done or if she were a killer just maybe a uh something in their chest and let it explode or something I don't know yeah or even just put a bubble around their head and then just compress it you know down to the size of a penny there there you go um oh look like Dave's falling out on us Dave wake up DA got you got you now he worked on I think with G inis he worked on Nemesis I've got some of that too that was quite a violent tail that he tolded you know oh okay off Shadow yeah yeah I know I've done it myself especially especially when it's what especially when Rex opens his mouth huh yeah the hell didn't think that one through did you oh here almost bedtime for Dave and I got about maybe four hours left in me before I got to hit the bed too so yeah I'm ahead of you don't forget guys I'm ahead of you oh yeah you're living in the Dynamite uh here is a an alpha flight and black and white got some black and white is uh images for you so you might have to blow that thing up just to see it because there's not much contrast to it but it's good I like it that's how contrast at the bottom yeah a little dark that's definitely I mean you think about it let's see there's three six seven only seven members original members there so that's that's not too many I guess yeah I mean that's about as many as you going on a team though I think seven really okay I'll keep that under advisement uh here is a Robin and Joker piece I mean otherwise you know it just gets hard to write for everybody and and give everybody enough time in a book yeah it is unless you develop them overtime and then kind of switch them in and out right like The Avengers right yeah like you could do that like rotate in you know different teammates and things poor Dave he's been on here for second night in a row I know I I had to make up for last week when I wasn't here that's right what you got there Dave is that new no I've had it for a while oh okay oh cool so Gary Anderson was that sort of like the newspaper magazine it was yeah this this this is this was a reproduction of some of the art we got a real estate company in America called Century 21 oh yeah that's nice work on the back I like that yeah that's cool they were probably done in watercolor weren't they probably colored uh water no I don't think they were watercolor it was in color though right yeah yeah not all the not all the stories were somewhere black and white you think pictures absolutely this story features you know remember Garrick the government agent or whatever that gave Avengers all the trouble and man yeah yeah and man mhm Tony stock was he an Iron Man as well yes he was y okay yeah yeah he was a pain in the butt for a while I can almost see in uh Ivan's work here an influenced by Neil Adams to tell you the truth different but you know I can oh we got scarecrow he's yeah I like the I like now you talk about he made his first appearance in a Iron Man story you know in uh Tales of suspense Ry got his black crow with it everybody needs a good scarecrow character because you can scarecrow's public domain right yeah the name you know might as well use it do you see what I'm saying I mean th this this could be a lot this could be sabaa uh in fluence uh where but I I see a little Neil Adams you know yeah yeah I can I can see a little Neil Adams in there I mean he's he he has dramatic poses and things you know um Daredevil the album 20 new songs from the from the Daredevil movie you know with Ben afflac back in the day CU this older Avengers issue really yeah [Music] yeah yeah that was an unfortunate casting call yeah and then here's a here's a he's definitely taking you know advantage of like the full paage sometimes yeah I do that he kind of does the uh like Neil Adams used to do with the uh for curvature well you know like the curve of the body and when you're moving through the air and stuff kind of like Gil Kane used to do too with two towers um uh figures there on that ad let's see what year did this come out of course lose a great artist in him you know here's Daredevil like that especially spotty knocked out there holding spotty's costume because he he's got the old dico type look to his webbing and stuff I don't know just the way he drew him it it looks like although he doesn't have the webs under his arms you know he's definitely got the the different uh angles where is Eric is he avoiding me I don't know especially for Carrie she likes Thunder awesome I may have to tr myself when back home when are you gonna be back home uh Carrie so I can mail you your uh SC Ash Cannon cards and stuff I doubt that Gable who would want to avoid you there you go there might be a few of us let's just uh sit right here and see if he gets uncomfortable in front of the camera oh and Shadow Hawk left what the hell man what a Bogan uh here's another Captain America he did check that out uh yeah he he brought he did some of those covers with the Triangular Shield too uh yeah yeah here we are in like you know he drew those around 2006 2007 something like that on that run and um uh here's a John Constantine cover he did I think it's a cover it's kind of interesting yeah that's a bit different MH oh oh yeah some of these here's a Justice Society of America I have some of those I have that full run yeah he did he did some nice covers I don't know if he put the Retro images in behind or if they were just kind of superimposed by you know him or another designer but this was a great run on Justice Society of America what do you think Shadow Hawk and silence the world never know that's right now he talks uh did you see this Justice Society of America they did this on all the covers in fact yeah I just caught a bit of it yeah I think this came out in 2004 I think well maybe it's somewhere around that time okay anyway it was uh Star Girl made her first appearance I think in Issue four and he did all the covers to that series and they were they always had the Retro images behind his modern interpretation of the characters and cool I like the I like the Retro you know um here's a phantom he did I I might even have this I mean you know I was always kind of drawn to his stuff not necessarily to to buy it at full you know but while I was when I was buying you know stuff in bulk I would you know definitely included his stuff in there because it's great design look at that double page sprad Captain America to the rescue First Avenger there Captain America gota gota batting down the the Jew haters you know that's right um You you remember the old flasher films where Superman uh did his cape with with the lava yeah from the 40s oh yeah yeah mm well Cassidy did um a cover of Superman 706 where he's kind of taking the cape the same concept and looking over America except for Hawaii and Alaska they're on their own yeah yeah sorry you suckers are on here yeah well Superman only covers the uh the mainland 48 Car car's just put a post on to tell me I'm rich oh 198 pounds on Amazon I didn't think it look a little bit more you know I didn't think it was going for that much and the crew what do what do you think about Black Panther marrying storm because that's been a thing forsh at least I didn't I didn't even about that didn't know about it didn't know anything about that wow okay so what did a end up moving to wak and [ __ ] here's some of his Hellboy stuff from Hellboy weird Tales I might even have some of that uh because weird taals was kind of neat I know I've got an issue or two of it he definitely can do a complex Page look at that layout although I know it's hard to see because it's low contrast with the blue you know but yeah wellow looks like he's doing looking through ice or something because I see a Mastadon on that first panel I don't know what yeah it looks like he's looking at like a a frozen ice wall or something maybe yeah maybe an an artist depiction or something I don't know what the skull is there in the second panel but yeah I'm not sure oh looks like it came to life and attacked him oh [ __ ] or something something's going on but nice work I like it that's cool just see a little hard to read from a distance you know because of all the blue yeah yeah yeah I think with the you know artwork that was one thing that I know uh you know 40 years ago I was really kind of overlooking was contrast you know I had to have that pointed out to me uh I think a lot of Art arst early on you know lack the contrast to me contrast is very important one of the most important things uh secret that's one of the reasons why I like black and white art work so much there's the Beast I see that that looks more like it still might be the cat version but he's he looks a little bit more traditional there yeah little more I don't like covering up his forearms why why why to give me more costume the Beast didn't need anything but shorts yeah oh they only just wore a pair of damn uh what do you call them uh Speedos Speedos yeah uh I thought this was very simple out of him for a Captain America cover yeah yeah but effective it's nice nice cover yeah go team hey Avengers Assemble that that um America lettering looks a little wonky to me that a uh that squared off a or no that's an R okay I can't even spell American anyway the r does not the r does not look like an R they don't have little black triangle there to it it's too squared up it it it I designing that here pretty soon GI with rock onor here is a he must have done this from a photograph because this looks like a portfolio piece or something but very nice I think that's the long definitely an accomplished artist within the field uh I have this particular Superman cover uh again I think this is probably one well I I I think I picked this actually bought bought a copy of this on eBay because it was just kind of a neat uh design you know for the I guess I don't don't really like the on there I I got it cheap enough you know guarantee you okay here's another I still oh yeah he did this series too there Captain America that looks more fully painted you know oh yeah that like all the bombers in the sky just hear them gotta kill those ratsy oh yeah yeah I like the downward shots like that very cinematic yeah that's cool uncanny Avengers cover there number one although I don't know what they're doing with the half sketch half colored you know what's the colorist you know uncanny Avengers so what X-Men and Avengers like teamed up for a while I really don't know I've got some uncanny Avengers it was it was a thing there and sort of like the again we're talking around you know most of his stuff you know that I have well a lot of it is from the early 2000s here's a another Lone Ranger car but now i' i' that's issue 22 uh I have a bunch of his stuff a bunch of his stuff um throughout the decades but I especially from the from that time uh here's a a John burn Recreation he did we were talking about this particular cover yesterday shadoww Days of Future Past but that's yeah we sure were yeah yeah he was really channeling his John burn here yeah yeah he was looks pretty close you know yeah just a bit I think there's a bit more of an angle on the wanted poster in the background but yeah other than that damn close oh yeah and I've got this too the director's cut this was a full cover Avengers 500 I've got a copy of that when it came out paid full price for it because if you can't you know P full price for what you but you know those big issues like [Music] that pay price only one you have the shadow that's true from Dynamite nice yeah I've got one two isses in that series now that's Howard shaken I don't know why they're maybe he did the insides that's definitely Howard shaking there well maybe not all these are his what doing what's the double I can't remember the double 48 page number 100 I'll have to look some of those up that's that's pretty cool Dynamite does a good job uh with their books here's some black and white images from him they pissed me off a couple of years ago oh black B I'm not sure about this what I've seen this Uncanny X-Men female character but I don't know who it is those feet are wild man spots she's definitely don't you have like let's say maximum five and keep within just those titles why do you have to re well one of the reasons I quit the mainstream I got tired of it like this X-Men spin-off title after X-Men it's like I'm collecting 30 books a month that are just X titles what the [ __ ] when I grew when I grew up Shadow there was one X-Men title and that was it exactly one I mean they switched the name on the one title a couple of times it went you know the new X-Men and then Uncanny X-Men well that's it but they carried on the numbering right yeah but the numbers were still all the way up until what the 90s or whatever and then all of a sudden it was like oh we got X Factor and X this and X that and X far too much I blame Bob McLoud with his New Mutants anyway uh this wolver looks like see that last so in the summertime they would come up here to the Midwest where I would hang out with them and then in the winter time they would go back down south and they would go to Arkansas and just go dig crystals all day and you get to take home whatever you find oh yeah dig for diamonds h yeah so so yeah my my friends will do that they you know in the winter time they go do that they have
