[Music] what's going on jeromes so by this afternoon we're going to get some clarity on this latest chapter of Vikings former first round pick number 32 overall in 2022 leis seen and you know scene I I wanted it to work out but you know the the injury just really put him behind the eightball and it just really hasn't gotten on track and the pride of Georgia Georgia looking to stack up bodies probably he was going to be the replacement for Harrison Smith if he didn't break his leg even though Vikings fans even like during the draft just like oh you passed up on Cal Hamilton okay pride pride of uh Notre Dame did did you know that he also play safety yeah it was but you know seeing like we said with that broken leg I mean I I feel like not enough Credence is given to that it's a big time deal I mean just not phys not just physically but also mentally but been working his way back and frankly I was really happy for him you know the pride of Georgia in the second preseason game just showing up and showing up against the Browns and he'd be like yeah it was preseason yeah he was first- round pick yeah he should be a starter uh and he's owning uh second and third team dudes it's okay it's okay man and you know prompted a lot of uh louine haters coming coming on back uh but the scene sort of had a whatever uh finale in preseason against the Eagles which again is ironic because of all the teams that could trade for louisine how Roseman the Eagles you think they would be 1-1 but overall in preseason three games he he played the bulk of the games cuz like we said I think the Vikings just wanted extended look at seam and also potentially showcasing him for a trade I honestly think that that was what the Vikings uh thinking was here but 154 defensive snaps 16 tackles a pick two pressures a sack two penalties one on defense one on special teams two missed tackles 49.3 quarterback rating went thrown now which is is good it's pretty damn good also a 62.5 PFF grade so o overall like did he look good in spurts yes but with there still some issues sure but long story longer is seen going to be on the Vikings 53 are they going to cut him trying to get him out of the practice squad or or is there some trade value uh where another team sees a former first round pick a guy who's beset by injuries and making his way back and also you see that flash of talent against the Browns and of course other teams not just quacy are like Mama I can change him so Bill Barnwell ESPN put together a great piece NFL trade candidates players who could change teams before the deadline and louisine listed uh blah blah blah uh hopes were high for general manager quy doa's first draft selection in Minnesota as the Vikings likely saw scen as a player who could line up next to fellow 2022 top 45 draft pick Andrew bu Jr as future cornerstones in their secondary did not work out uh it never came together for either player Booth Play Just 256 snaps over two seasons before being traded to the Cowboys baby earlier this off season making him the first second rounder from the 22 22 class to be dealt it has sadly been worse for scen who fractured his left leg in week four of his rookie season and hasn't been able to make up for lost time he missed the remainder of 2022 and then alternate between serving as a healthy scratch or playing on special teams in 2023 after two seasons he has played just 10 defensive snaps now part of that has been the Viking safety room is crowded Harrison beey matelis so yeah and also Theo Jackson's been rising up too at this point a change of scenery would benefit scen who doesn't seem likely to earn meaningful snaps in Brian flores's defense it would be a surprise if any team was willing to pay even the 4 million in guarantees left on his contract uh so the Vikings might need to eat some money to acquire a draft pick for him uh given scen injury history a trade might not be possible so yeah they mentioned the contract and the Vikings do have um significant Financial Obligations to scene since he was a first round pick uh base salaries of 1.75 and 2.27 the next two years are fully guaranteed uh and the Vikings can trade him at full Freight again unlikely unlikely that team picks up those four million in guarantees but if they're able to trade him at full Freight it would only be 1. 385 million debt on the cap over the next two seasons uh the remnants of his pro-rated signing bonus uh but even if he's cut uh there will be offsets in terms of what the other team would pay him whether he's on on another team's 53 or practice squad it would offset what the Vikings uh ultimately owe him for a guarantee but even if the Vikings do cut SL wve him and another team um he's on another team's roster I mean it's still you're still looking at about 5 million dead over the next two years uh even with offsets if he signs for the league minimum elsewhere which uh is very likely to happen but like we said like is there some trade value there like do some GMS just look at uh look at that brown save and be like hmm we can do that but I'm under No Illusion that the Vikings are going to get a team to take on that full contract I mean the Vikings will probably at minimum have to split the difference or or maybe it'll be a situation where if Cene plays X number of snaps or X number of milestones for his new team then a portion of his 2025 guaranteed salary would uh go to the new team uh versus an obligation by the Vikings who knows just trying to get creative here but I'm also under No Illusion that the Vikings are going to get anything significant for seen like honestly if you can get a conditional seventh round pick or a sixth round pick I mean that that's a win that's an absolute dub and for seing yeah I mean we we're still waiting on this uh final wave of 503 man roster Cuts but I'm not really holding out hope that he's going to make it onto the 53 it could be a spot where he's waved and then he just signs to the Vikings practice squad or a team could try to pick him up off of waivers but again unlikely because they would have to pick up that entire contract uh but Cene could also just sign somewhere else as a street free agent after he clears waivers all right because you Harrison beey matelis Theo Jackson are Stone Cold locks on the 53 I think that Bobby McCain has actually made a a good case for the 53 although he's a veteran who the Vikings probably could get down through W well he wouldn't go through waivers but he would be cut and then go down to the practice squad then J carry on my JW son I they've experimented him at cornerback versus him at safety but I don't know but we'll see what happens today but overall like I I I did have high hopes for scene felt terrible when he broke his leg and you know a lot of Vikings fans have written him off and you know it's just something that that was a career altering injury and you know maybe things were stacked against him uh beforehand you know living in the the shadow of uh Kyle Hamilton who's become All Pro also quy making that trade in division with the Lions going from 12 to 32 obviously held against him as well as Lou scen so I don't know like I I like that Cen had his moment in the Sun and maybe that could return something for the Vikings cuz I don't know the talent is there but it may benefit both parties uh to start over where the Vikings rou a little bit of draft capital for 2025 where they don't have a ton of picks and louisine gets a start over somewhere else but we we'll see uh anyways your thoughts our thoughts ESPN list louisine as trade candidate will it happen before the deadline today guess we find out let us know your thoughts our thoughts comment section below you guys know what to do
