it's Friday August 30th 2024 and welcome to episode 13 of X talks this is The Daily Show Monday through Friday where we cover trending topics on X we break it down I give you my opinions and then we talk about it in the comments so today's uh discussion is a really fun one it's Friday we're going to keep it light so before we dive into it though make sure to subscribe to this channel like this video and make sure to comment what you think about this topic so without any further Ado let's hop into it today we're going to be talking about Pat McAfee that's right the controversial podcaster on ESPN on Game Day former punter with I can't tell you I don't even know a way to quantify the Charisma that this guy has he's a lot of fun and he's living the dream man this guy is just partying all over the world putting on shows for college kids he's on NFL Sidelines he's really living it up uh I enjoy watching him I think he brings a lot of fun and excitement to the game and the reason he's trending today is because of an event that just happened at college game day in West Virginia I'm going to show you right now check this out this is what college sports is all about baby check this out here's a little bit of wind Deuce McBride for some kids tuition looks good y did y [Applause] that was awesome hey y hell yeah dud H yeah ladies and gentlemen toce MC BR D that was awesome thank you for that holy dud I think you get one year 62 and half million for that yeah that's the NBA baby that's how it all goes hey have an incredible weekend cheers to you brother all right thank you man here's you Logan d d b d oh man what a shot that was awesome holy oh that's crazy I mean that that was too easy what a stud Bruce what a moment just changed your life right there yeah earn it son hell yeah hell yeah hey he believes make a count Logan he believes he certainly believes he trusted a clown how about Deuce McBride knocking that down for him there's a couple guys that were here at like 3:00 a.m. and I I said that Deuce was going to shoot for him later hey bro we'll just give you both like 10 grand BR thanks for hanging Deuce made it yeah Deuce made it Deuce made it for you congrats to those guys how cool is that so to give you the background or that's the uh Pat McAfee show I misspoke I said college game day same Vibes all right college game days on Saturdays but Pat McAfee has such a following that he shows up to college campuses and that's the turnout that he gets and you can see why they have a ton of fun so uh that's the point guard for the New York Knicks hitting that down he was a guest on the show and the promise was if he made it one kid was going to get his T their tuition paid for and uh just because Pat was feeling I probably the emotion of the moment uh he gave those two kids who had been there since 3:00 a.m. $10,000 as well I'll tell you what when I was in college $100 would was a game changer for me so to get $10,000 each for just showing up at 3:00 a.m. and supporting your local West Virginia team MERS uh it's pretty cool I love the whole vibe there and I'll be honest with you I'm from Buffalo New York so my team you be Wars up baby big win last night the arrival of college football season is here now obviously the Mac is nowhere near uh the level of like the SEC or any of these other big time conferences so uh living in Texas I definitely feel the excitement around college football season every year now and I I missed out to be honest with you if I could do college over again I probably would have gone to one of the huge schools so I could enjoy some of this craziness once college football season comes around every year uh but college football season kicked off last night and uh there were a lot of really good games Colorado the buffalos Dion Sanders uh squeaked out a win against North Dakota state made it a lot closer than people thought uh and it's just the beginning of the year so it's going to be a lot of fun but I just wanted to talk about this because it's such I think such a cool example of what college sports is all about especially college football every it's the return to school you had all summer now you're back you're you know maybe a little bit depressed having to get back to the books and study a bunch but this is your pressure release valve on a weekly basis you get to go support your team and uh you know when the Pat McAfee show arrives on your campus and starts giving out free tuition and a bunch of money to kids it's a cool thing I uh I'm all for it and I think the fun of college football season is uh just there's so much that goes on and the unique tradition and cultures that each college has around the country is very cool I know there's a lot of wokeness in the college campuses but I think this is a tradition worth saving and uh like I said I wasn't even a part of it growing up you know I obviously went to the University of Buffalo and uh went to their games growing up but like definitely nothing like that I'll tell you that but never say never we'll get there someday um so that's it for today's culture or X talks I'm sorry um I hope you enjoyed it comment your favorite team
