Intro!! okay so the Philadelphia Eagles just had back-to-back practices with full pads and things are starting to ramp up Jordan Davis rre havoc on Monday plus Johnny Wilson stock continues to rise as for noobe Dean he was low-key called out by Vic vanio who also said he wanted to trade for an eagle player when he was in Miami we also heard from Kell Moore who continues to praise Jaylen Herz and also said that the offense is almost fully installed except for some adjustments plus c Garner Johnson missed today's practice with a shoulder injury after having an MRI so much to unpack let's get into it what is going on everybody I go by Philly Mike and this is the Philly tall podcast be sure to hit that like button subscribe to the channel and turn on that notification Bell so you don't miss the videos plus let's give a huge shout out to bet us who's sponsoring today's video so in the last two days of Eagles LB and CB competition!! practice we saw a lot of the same alignments especially on defense f was asked how the competition is going at linebacker and Corner that it's a good competition going on um we have not uh come to any conclusions anywhere we still have you know three preseason games in a lot of time but the competition's been good I see guys improving and it's you know it's good healthy competition he was also asked about Cooper Dee when he comes back does that change the complexion of The Corner Room and Vic fangio said of course it does but it depends on how quick he can get acclimated to regular play all that will play a factor in how the cornerback room shapes out another thing that caught my eye is that fangio says he Fangio wants Starters to play in preseason!! thinks it's good for players to play in a preseason fio makes it sounds like Nick serani is open to it so we'll see how many starters on offense and defense actually get to play in the pre-season opener versus the Baltimore Ravens on Friday as for noobe Dean fangio says Fangio on Nakobe set back!! good I thought ncoe had a u the first few days of practice um he I thought he played really really good and you know took a step back a little bit in the stadium practice but overall he's been doing really good again that's the practice you wanted to see a guy like nocoe Dean show out in because it's the most game simulated but at least he's doing good overall and the competition is still open he also gave Trotter JR Update!! an update about Jeremiah troter Jr I did fine I mean you know when we're in practice you know whether it's first team or not we really it's not kind of a declaration you know what I'm saying I mean he he's doing good he's getting better remember fangio said already that he's going to put the rookies in guys who don't normally get first team reps in their situations just to see how they perform that don't mean that they'll get PT in real life games but I'm glad he's given everybody a somewhat fair chance as for a quick injury update between HUGE Injury Update!! Monday and Tuesday's practice cam Jurgens and CJ Garner Johnson both left on Monday cam Jurgens was was back at practice on Tuesday starting CJ Garner Johnson was back but he didn't practice he was on the sideline with Cindy Brown watching on Monday's practice James Bradberry came in and got first team reps at safety on Tuesday's practice avonte Maddox played alongside a re blanket ship as first team safety CJ Garner Johnson did get an MRI and according to the first word Reports say it don't look like it's going to be a long-term issue but that don't let us know how soon he's going to come back so can anybody say now is the time to go out there and sign Justin Simmons not only will he be a perfect fit with fangio it's a hoe Roseman late August Edition Type move but Cindy Brown ACL CJ grunner Johnson shoulder I mean we do need to have some depth at the safety position also to add one more injury update Tyler Steen was back in action on Tuesday's practice with that ankle injury although he got second team reps as maai beckon got the first team reps at Right Guard not saying beckon is over Ste but we're not going to just throw him into the fire the first day he's back from an ankle injury so we got to continue to monitor who getting the first team reps at Right Guard going forward when everybody seems to be okay Jordan Davis Took Over!! moving on to The Showdown on Monday it was first and 10 at the Eagles one yd line offense gets a first down they win the whole thing defense get a stop they win and on the very first play Jordan Davis burst into the back field for a safety hitting saquan to the ground which had to be a good win for the defense and especially coming from Jordan Davis who we expect big things from in 2024 not just us but fangio staying with the D tackles listen what Fangio wants 7 DTs! fangio said he wants to keep a lot of them no I mean we have a minimal amount of D lineman that we need to have and um hopefully we'll have that but no you need you know in the past here they've counted guys like uh sweat and huff as D Lyman you know where they're more Edge players outside linebackers the pure D lineman D tackles you know they'll you know I don't want to speak they'll need to be a minimum of five to seven on the roster shoot if we keep seven then everybody on the team makes it as for Fangio on Milton Williams!! Eagles Super Bowl Lombardy trophy there is because they decided to bring it out for training camp today just to let the people see it and understand what we're trying to get jayen Herz turned in Jalen Hurts on Monday and Tuesday!! another performance that would leave coaches encouraged on Monday once again taking care of the ball and making a few really nice throws in the Red Zone his first touchdown was to Devonte Smith hitting him over the middle from about 10 yards out it looked like pressure came but Jaylen herds got it out quick and hit Smith perfectly in stride his next touchdown was a really nice throw in traffic to Johnny Wilson it was similar to his touchdown throw to GD in 2021 versus Atlanta week one Herz rolled out and put it in traffic where only Wilson could get it Wilson made a great catch over key Ringo another strong day at the office for jayen Herz stats per Elliot Shor Parks 11 to 13 three touchdowns zero interceptions on 21 reps however on Tuesday Jaylen herdz only attempted 11 passes the team worked mostly on situational football focusing on killing the clock at the end of games for long portions of practice which resulted in a lot of running attempts hers did well with his 11 attempts once again not turning it over and converting most of the third Downs he was pressed with it wasn't flashy or exciting on Tuesday but another strong performance for Jaylen herdz 8 of 11 zero touchdowns zero interceptions so again Johnny Jonny Wilson Stock up!! Wilson continues to be trusted as a rookie to run with the first team listen what he said about his connection with Jaylen Herz it's been great you know um put in some working offseason with Jaylen um some of the other guys and you know just building up those reps and uh that connection with everybody you know just the whole the whole depth chart of receivers um it it's been it's been great getting you know some of those first team reps and um just trying to keep on building day and day out again none of the battles have came to conclusion but Johnny Wilson continue to show he could be trusted and he's willing to put into work and if he lives up to his potential he can be very dangerous in the Red Zone in the slot on C looks in this Kell Moore's offense I Kellen Moore on lack of INTs!! did forget to say earlier that fangio talked about the defense not getting turnovers and he wanted to credit Jaylen Herz and the offense but he does say the defense got to get turnovers listen to what Kell Moore says as it pertains to Jaylen Herz turnovers excellent decision excellent PR preparation by Jaylen uh he's doing a great job with the football you know he's he's still aggressive he's still trying to get the ball down field he's trying to make plays uh he's just making really really good decisions and uh you know he's doing nice nice job and really the the whole group as a as a unit you know I think we've only had a couple uh two maybe so far in Camp uh you know these guys are making really good decisions while still playing aggressive they're not passive they're not just taking check Downs they're getting the ball down field which is exciting they also asked kellmore about Kellen Moore on Tendencies?
