let's talk about the Buffalo Bills for 2024 a team that suffered massive offseason Personnel losses you can't underestimate what Buffalo lost this past off season safety Micah Hyde safety Jordan puyer quarterback travius white they're leading sacker Leonard Floyd their starting center Mitch Morris and know a couple of receivers named Steph Diggs and Gabe Davis those are significant losses for a Buffalo Bills team lined once again at 10 and a half wins in 20 24 hey it's Teddy covers from wagertalk.com we're doing NFL team previews all 32 of them coming up right here on this channel so if you lined at 10 and a half wins and once again the favorite to win the afce something they've been pretty good at doing in recent Seasons what four straight division titles for Buffalo this team has been in the top five offensively each of the last four years they've been in the top 10 defensively each of the last five years for both points and yards allowed Buffalo's been really good all right they've been Elite can they stay at that level in 2024 and again there are more questions than we've seen in recent years when it comes to the builds we have questions on special teams right now which we haven't had at all for Buffalo race here Tyler bass was a problem last year the pting game wasn't great there's the kick return issues and punt return issues no one uh that I see on the roster primed to make big plays in the special team of course let's not forget how bad those special teams were last year remember the punt return touchdown that cost them the opening day game against the Jets in overtime I remember that one of course the 44 yard field goal that was missed to lose in the playoffs that's one that stands out as well I'm not convinced that Buffalo has fixed the special team's issues when it comes to offensively look this is a team that they traded down twice when it came to their uh first round pick but boy Keon Coleman the 6-4 receiver out of Florida State he should help he's a position of Need for Buffalo no question Josh Allen's going to need guys to throw to and let's not forget Josh Allen 18 interceptions last year number two in the NFL in that regard 47 in interceptions over the last three seasons that's the most in the NFL during that span so we have a QB with a history a recent history and a career history of throwing picks and we have a rebuilt receiving Corp and we have a team that lost their starting center in the off season questions not disaster look there are certainly situations where teams shake up their receiving core shake up their offensive line a little bit and get better not worse that being said when you've been a top five offense each of the last four years and you're going through those type of personnel changes and the salary cap wo like the bills have in 2024 those are concerns to me there's a reason that Buffalo isn't aligned 11 11 and a half 12 wins this year they're 10 and a half and they're juic to the under because the markets expect the bills to take at least something of a step back we look at this defense and again they've been Dynamite really really good defense big losses in the secondary right here big losses from the pass rush this team was number three in the NFL in takeaways a year ago and again we talk about moving forward projecting to this season when you're number three in takeaways last year and you kind of rebuilt lots of key portions of your secondary and your leading pass rusher is gone you don't necessarily expect that to be the case again this year so a Bills team I've got turnover problems with Buffalo I'm not convinced they're going to creative ton and I think Josh Allen's going to continue to have his share of mistake so personnel-wise look it's not like the bills are way down from where they've been but certainly not an easy schedule it's not an easy division look what Buffalo's done a division over the last four years 6-0 5- one 4-2 4-2 added up and we're talking about what 19 and5 in division I don't think they go better than four- two this year they could easily go three and three we give them three and a half four wins in division okay that's f fine the AFC East plays AFC South which is one of the weaker divisions that said AFC South when you look at them I mean Tennessee is going to be better than they were last year I think Indie is going to be better than they were last year Jacksonville is no joke uh and Houston obviously is a pretty good team so it's not like the AFC South is a bunch of weak teams like you might face if you face let's say the NFC South and of course they face the NFC West as well um the three extra games for the Buffalo Bills and that's a big concern for this better when you look at these three extra games might be the toughest in the league at Detroit Kansas City at Baltimore let's not forget the AFC teams only get eight home games this year compared to nine on the road NFC teams the other way so the bills have few in fact they have a whole stretch look they have uh between October 27th and December 22nd so basically an 8we span or a nwe span the only home games they have in Buffalo where they can take advantage of the crowd and the weather Miami KC San Francisco all really good football team nothing easy for Buffalo this year from a power rating standpoint my number for the bills going into the season is fairly comparable to where it's been in recent years I don't think the bills are going to take a big step down in 2024 that being said from a powering perspective I got a handful of teams ranked above Buffalo just like I've had in recent years they have not been a Super Bowl caliber team or a Super Bowl team during this span of excellence and I expect 2024 to be at least something of a step down for Buffalo so again this is not a weak team I'm not saying the bills are going to fall apart but they have depth concerns there are a whole lot of pieces that they're trying to replace in quality piece that they're trying to replace and I've got some concerns both about their pass rush and their secondary and that's a bad Duo to have concerns about no surprise here if we see the Buffalo Bills play a whole lot of shootouts in 2024 on a game by game basis wouldn't be surprised this team Cates a fair few over bets especially early in the season when the totals might not be quite so high look
