started with a dream started with a dream little bit of this little bit of that firmly Seated on the top of the world and know that the sun is a one ra come to understand it's one way focused on the targets always they don't even know their own selves how just try to tell you what you can do because they never seen it been done then they get the feeling they own Fear Part the one to demonstrate exactly what you really want around here they can tell a different sound here look around until a here speaking what a no must here in a whip bumping on the road with the mind up on the finish till I get to see the Smoke Clear how to get to really end you take the next step and then another one you man to get there when the bell goes then you see the one still there you can find us on the outside yeah we still there cuz the world really is an oyster pet like it was a the oyer but the things that are real on right that we get to turn the voice up Cate another year we get to be around yeah we see friends go below the ground think about it then you about to get a new perspective objective reflective yeah start a a bit of this little bit that I kept on going going started with a dream Dre know what I'm saying but 911 you know the day the party died I don't know if there's a correlation there what what's going on we know Kendrick uh has the Super Bowl that's coming up we know there's controversy with Kendrick fans and Lil Wayne fans regarding you know Lil Wayne should have been on the Super Bowl Lil Wayne releasing videos saying he's hurt by not being on the Super Bowl Kendrick fans saying that oh stop crying you entitled a lot of going on right now a lot of Dramas going on say Nicki Minaj Nicki Minaj said one dude took the took the knee the other dude took the bag talk about Jay-Z and [ __ ] like it's a lot it's a lot that's going on you know what I'm saying but Kendrick has such a crazy microphone at this moment his microphone is is pretty big so let's let's see what's going on man Kendrick Lamar watch the party die let's rock [Music] but it could have a crazy drop in there Ryan said it sound like he killing a party with the beat yeah he definitely killing a party with the beat but that droing though some [ __ ] like it can drop in no that that's not Kendra Kendra don't do that man if it ain't not like us you know what I'm saying he don't do that man it's it's G to say like this the whole song I'm pretty sure I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's going to be you might be surprised though you never know I hope [Music] [Applause] so I think it's time to watch the party die the [ __ ] done got too Wicked to apologize it's different get them whacked and disqualified we even kill the killers cuz they like taking innocent lives burn a whole village we start over here really that time why reason with these [ __ ] if they can't see the future first Why argue with these clowns if the circus is well at work just walk that man down that'll do everyone a solid it's love but Tough Love sometimes got to result in violence if you parade and gluttony without giving truth to the youth the graveyard is company just tell us what C get the truth they party more than [ __ ] tell me what are you working for they glorify scamming you get chipped over this credit card influencers talk down cuz I'm not with the basic [ __ ] but they don't hate me they hate the man that I represent the type of man that never dip ride cuz I want a favor the man that and patience so where the soldiers at the ones that lost it all and learned to learn from that a thirst for Life head inside a book cuz he concerned with that information that'll change his life because he earns for that dedication finding out what's right cuz he can earn from that I feel for the women that deal with the clown and ner [ __ ] can't blame them today they ain't really got much to work with how many [ __ ] harder than a lot of you [ __ ] trade hard of yall forp I can't be proud of you [ __ ] God me life please give me peace you know who could be the first Soldier on Kendrick's front line locksmith oh yeah yeah go ahead recruit locksmith man you know mean head in the book because you can learn from that yeah yeah recruit lock matter of fact locksmith already on the front lines I think yeah I think so and he a Cali dude and that's the Bay Area man yeah link up with locksmith man what he say I feel for the women that deal with the clowns and nerd [ __ ] can't blame them though cuz today they ain't really got [ __ ] to work with they ain't got much to work with but that's but they ain't got [ __ ] to work with but the men don't either though nobody you know what I'm saying let's keep it a being across the board though women ain't got nothing to work with and men ain't really got one that's so true that's why you see all these videos of people popping up you know talking about men's point of view and women's point of view that's that that's just what's hot right now what what's the [ __ ] that you be watching that you tell me the balloon balloon [ __ ] oh the balloon pop [ __ ] yeah that [ __ ] shout shout out to shorty what's her name I forgot her name that does the balloon pop uh thing on Instagram oh no on YouTube on YouTube yeah I just like the psychology I feel like you could get the psychology of people in there but that's another story yeah that's another story but but but that's that's the point you're like this is what we have to deal with just such buffoonery going on on both sides to your point George but he specifically is he's talking about the women the women are like yeah you know what I'm saying they they're dealing with the nerd and clown [ __ ] but that's what's that's what's idolized right that's what's idolized is how much money you got regardless of how you got it you know what I'm saying whether it's you you know and really that's it though how much money you got that's really it oh you got money okay cool yeah don't matter how you got it matter it doesn't matter how you got it doesn't matter who you are as a person your heart your integrity and then before that he said why even argue with these clowns if the circus is well at work right great line circus meaning what's going on in the industry you know what what dudes are on right you know what I'm saying a circus obviously you've been to a circus you know you see all kinds of [ __ ] you see clowns you see [ __ ] On The Tight RPP you see [ __ ] you know juggling over here it's just it's just a whole bunch of crazy crap going on you know what I'm saying that it's just no Rhyme or Reason for it so why even argue with [ __ ] that ain't on my time you're not even on my time so you're not even on my on my wavelength is what what we used to say I don't know if that's still a cool thing to say but you ain't even on my wavelength you know what I'm saying we we we're playing two different sports you know what I'm saying so I I think that that's kind of the gist of this this verse like the the the [ __ ] is is all out of whack the [ __ ] done got too Wicked to apologize why even are I can't even reason with these [ __ ] anymore you know what I'm saying you know ridiculous fan bases that dick ride and all that all that that's part of add that to the equation these dick riding fan bases that can't handle a difference of opinion that just spread all this just nasty negativity and [ __ ] can't intellectualize their opinion so they got to attack you know those guys too let's add them to the equation yeah just walk them down you know what I'm saying that'll do everybody a solid let's just kill kill this [ __ ] kill these clowns and that will benefit everybody what do he say if you parade in gluttony without giving the truth to the youth the graveyard is company to tell us what casket to choose that's a hard line right you know what I mean so so if you parade around and gluttony gluttony is if you eat too much if you eat too much it's gluttony that's what what that the leral term you know but if you're greedy if you're parading you know so if someone's parading around they're um they're just right there just showcasing you know shallow Behavior right material things that's how I'm taking right right right right but when you parade around it's like flamboyant right you know what I mean it's like flamboyant when you parade around with something and you're not when he says you're not giving the truth to the youth it it comes off disingenuous right you know so what they see is the Diamonds the clothes the this the that you know what I mean and so you're parading around like this is um an infatuation is so great you know what I mean but inevitably it the graveyard is your company meaning that you're you're this is going to lead to your destruction One Way or Another You by Kendrick though yeah by Kendrick the graveyard is company just tell us what to what casket to choose we're setting that up that's what you're doing if you're parading around gluttony showing greed right and all this other stuff right promoting superficial things and material things yeah go ahead just choose your cast you want the oak the pine we got we got you but one thing that he said here man that I was a little confused by he said influencers talk down because I'm not with the basic [ __ ] I don't know who is he talking about I know he ain't talking about us we we we or actually he probably is talking about us CU we the only [ __ ] that had any sort of critique that's the only one I mean everyone 99.99999% of the industry seem to be on exactly Kendrick's side everybody academics excuse me academics was okay you know you know is a big deal yeah so he's a big deal in in this in this uh realm so maybe that's what he's talking about because I remember everyone showing Kendrick nothing but love even with the meet the grham [ __ ] that no one's talking about anymore I don't hear nobody talking about that that that is the video I got the most we we but we I pretty much I mean there was a lot of [ __ ] talking [ __ ] to me and I was I was harsh in that but you mean the song that that we got [ __ ] on for that y' like destroyed us that he a even he ain't even perform at the pop out that one yeah that oh okay okay just just chucking that he even perform the [ __ ] you what say anyway so I don't know if anybody who else is saying that what are the influences are we talking about so I don't know but I get the point that he's making let me let me Define the whole the line he said influencers talk down because I'm not with the basic [ __ ] but they don't hate me they just hate the man that I represent I like that line right the type of man that never dick ride cuz they want a favor I stand for the culture you know what I'm saying I'm you make the songs that pacify I make the songs that Electrify all that [ __ ] yeah that stands on principle right that that doesn't need to to clout Chase and do that other [ __ ] right I'm standing on I have a bigger picture it's a bigger um message and picture that's at play that I'm trying to fulfill man I don't you know so I they don't like that you know what I'm saying cuz I'm I'm not getting you views I'm not getting you whatever you're looking for he said I trade it all for nip you know what I'm saying what you what did he say specifically would trade all of y'all for nip I can't be proud of y'all man so you know that's that's what it is man I'm ready to watch the party die you know the glorifying scamming you get chipped over this credit card right you know a credit card has a chip in it right you use the chip to pay for things right but you get picked off for for glorifying scamming right so you get chipped over that like we where is the soldiers at man where the people where the like Minds man that have their head in the book they're trying to learn they're trying to pass down you know the things that the the youth and the community needs to thrive where are these guys at man you know what I'm saying because it's time for a culling it's time for the apocalypse man let's destroy and rebuild they party more than [ __ ] what are y'all working for what are we doing y'all partying more than the like than the women what are we doing right now you supposed to be the you supposed to be the leaders you supposed to be the provider man providers the leaders you're supposed to be steering us set the example right yo taking us to the promised land work with how many [ __ ] harder than a lot of you [ __ ] we trade hard of y'all for nip I can't be proud of you [ __ ] God give me life dear God please give me peace dear God please keep these lame [ __ ] away from me dear God keep me shining the [ __ ] do they really think pocket watching you must be the police God bless these words dear God bless how I think dear God draw the line they trying to confuse them with me dear God please forgive me you know how hard I tried I think it's time for me to watch the party [Music] die get them gone we go watch the party die send them home we go watch the party die [Music] [Applause] I think it's time to watch the party die Street nigas and the corporate guys the rappers that report the lies I need their families mortified we can do life without them get their bodies organized tell me if you obliged no more pillow talking jump starting neighb her Wars dirty macking [ __ ] because your spirit is insecure the flashy [ __ ] with nasty decisions using money as a backbone I want his head cracked before he's back home the radio personality pushing propaganda for salary let me know when they turn up as a casualty I want Agony Assa and Battery I see a new Earth filled with beautiful people making Humanity work that's kill the followers that follow up and popping moles from the AAS degenerates that's felling to acknowledge the hope that we trying to spread if I'm not his vote then you need to bring his [ __ ] head or film that [ __ ] in high R God give me life dear God please give me peace Dear God please keep these lame [ __ ] away from me dear God keep me shining the [ __ ] do they really think pocket watching you must be the police God bless these words dear God bless how I think dear yeah I'm I'mma stop it there because there's some stuff in that second verse that I that I want to touch but the feeling that I get with with this song in general is that at one point Kendrick wanted to save guys right these guys that cuz he he's talking about not just the music industry he's just Street dudes and the corporate guys the people people from his neighborhood right he's talking about dirty Mackin and because your spirit is insecure I don't I think it's culturally you know things that he's seeing in his environment right with the environment he comes from along with the music industry right so I think it's kind of tied in and I think at one point he wanted to save his you he wanted to save some of these dudes man because he knows that list because he realizes that um at the end of the day we're all human beings right we're all we all want the same things but some of us are misguided right and maybe I think up until this at least and maybe I could save these dudes maybe maybe but not anymore not anymore like you know what so it it it comes off apologetic but also angry and frustrated at the same time like I wish I can't deal with anymore I can't why even try to reason with these dudes right when the circus is well is well at work why deal with these clowns When The Circus is well at they don't want to hear it they don't care anymore right so these are some of these people are people that I think he loves right but he said tough love has to Resort in violence or some [ __ ] like that he said right you know I do love them but they but they're so far gone that there's nothing that I can do anymore except destroy the [ __ ] and rebild we can only save the youth the youth the minds that haven't been warped and pre-wired and pre-programmed right that you know people who don't need to be deprogrammed you know what I mean kids that we can still mold them so they're a lost cause is what how I'm taking it these [ __ ] is a lost cause man no more what do you say man no more pillow talking jump starting neighborhood Wars dirty macking [ __ ] because your spirit is insecure shout out to anybody that know anything about the dirty Max dirty Max the dirty Max y'all know y'all know what Dirty Mac it is man you know where you try to steal somebody else's girl and some [ __ ] like that try to demean other [ __ ] and make yourself look better to get somebody else's girl and [ __ ] I got a big fat Gat for the Dirty Mac y'all don't know nothing about that you know what I'm saying that's old Ice Cube song called Dirty Mac you know what I'm saying but um but yeah man um I I I thought that that was funny because right after that he uh followed up with uh the flashy dude with nasty decisions using money as a backbone I thought that was a [ __ ] hard line because I think that that is what a lot of people do in general flash money to feel more um to feel more fulfilled and like go buy rims and do this and buy chains and all this other stuff and flaunt it to their fellow person as opposed to trying to help and rebuild them and they because they're using that as a b you're insecure about something else if you didn't have the money what else do you have you know who are you right you know what I'm saying you didn't build your um Legacy or your um character on character or Integrity or on anything then build it on those principles your whole being is money and he said I want their head cracked yeah before they back home I like how he said that I want their families mortified but the street dudes and the corporate guys you know the thing Street dudes is who we've we've glorified in right we've glorified them we've put the street guys on a pedestal right you know hip hop a lot of the guys that we love a lot of these all-time great rappers pushed this negativity right n said hip-hop was dead back in 2006 and and that's when hip-hop was not dead yeah exactly Kan Kanye dropped graduation like the next year and [ __ ] so but Nas was you know he was uh you know what he's the prophet right he he's he saw the future he saw the symptoms he saw what was happening well before it happened I that was Na's way of saying this [ __ ] is about to get out of control we need to write the ship unfortunately it was unsuccessful you know what I'm saying and Hip-Hop continued to sort of Decline and now Kendrick saying you know what it is done now it actually is officially dead let's just now this is what we do from here on out I'm enjoying the um I'm enjoying the lyricism minutes I think Kendrick's writing well Shin the [ __ ] do they really think pocket watching you must be the police God bless these words dear God bless how I think dear God draw the line they trying to confuse them with me dear God please forgive me you knowing how hard I tried I think it's time for me to watch the party die sometimes I wonder what L would do [ __ ] these [ __ ] up or show them just what prayer do I want to be empathetic my heart like D1 but I will what what would you do it's time to get these Devils out the way heavy medals on my sword we settle hard disputes today the ghetto Hollywood divorce say hello to your future fate the coach of bread with Conor you let them snack they eat your face signatur is [Music] being good writing right there Brothers that was nasty it was very well written say hello to your future fate the culture's breed with carnivores you let them snack they eat your face the signatures is being forged then he even before that he said we settle hard disputes today the ghetto Hollywood divorce I don't know if he's saying divorcing the the culture the culture yeah from Hollywood right I think that Hollywood is now taking a culture in sort of um monetized it right in corporatized it and I think um the ghetto I think representing the authenticity that comes with hipop let's div them from you know theate ofer that nowed it down anded it and then he said the cultur breed with carnivores how I'm taking that is the cultures bread with culture vultures vultures are carnivores right you let them snack they eat your face you get you let them in you give them you give them an inch they take it take it a mile is that what it is you let them in the door you let them you let them participate and all of a sudden they want it all right they eat your face they they they exploit it right they exploit it and they dud and then they ruin it and then it's something else right and I think one thing that's eye openening about that line is he said uh the culture is bread meaning we created it the culture created this this is what we created it's not like this was a implant and [ __ ] that someone put in you know what I mean and and we got to this point we idolize and we popularize the [ __ ] [ __ ] right you know what I'm saying so we breathed this [ __ ] we made it you know what I mean and now it's eating Us Alive that's what I that's the way I I I see that you know you give somebody inch they take a mile at first when I first heard that I thought he was talking about um cannibalism you know Oh I thought you know CU when he says uh you give him a snack that eat your face I thought that we bred these cannibals and now they now now we've what we've what we've created is now destroying us eating Us Alive that's that's what I thought when I first I got saw it but but it's still hard though Conor is still hard because they eat meat and you know what I mean they they a vulture is a Conor yeah and they they [ __ ] they destroy [ __ ] you know what I'm saying they they they [ __ ] eat on carcasses and [ __ ] you know they eat it till it's [ __ ] dead so that's still hard you know what this makes me think of it's almost like remember the movie Gremlins making another one of those by the way you making another Gremlins okay Gremlins you remember when he got wet right when multip they multiplied and [ __ ] it's like but they but these these these evil Gremlins came from the good one right that's kind of what this is making me think of like when you said the culture bread it's like you know we allowed this [ __ ] to happen we we created this monster right and we even glorified the right you know what I'm saying we all of these sorous vultures to exploit you know something that was pure but also I love the the fact that he said the signatures is being forged right when you think of a signature being forged that means someone else is signing your signature on behalf of you and plagiarizing you right you know and I I feel like that's Kendrick's way of saying that the the fake the the in the powers that be are trying to push this sort of uh negative stereotype of the culture right they're exploiting it they're pushing this negativity and pushing it to the Forefront and making it seem like that's what it really is that this is the real soul of it and it's not you know what I'm saying the signatures is being forced the people who are in control of the culture control of what people see um don't have the culture's best interest and they're showing everything they're showing all of the negativity and they're showing the worst of it we settle hard disput today the ghetto would divorce say hello to your future fate the culture bread with con oforce you let them snack they eat your face the signatures is being Forge they wonder why I'm not in the drop the more visible you get the more your spiritual is tried it's cical to say I know these artist petrified the end result in jail by Jezebel a drug up full of lies critical I know my physical is tested all the time I'm pitiful sunk in place soon as I'm questioning my pride I'm seeing ghost blacking out relapsing one thought at a time I spend no feelings that ain't mine I'm in my feelings when I slide I mean a [ __ ] wonder what L CR would do terce Martin said I'm mentally with layers true I FLIR the market my best regards I paid your does and so it's up if you ain't one of ours it's bad news my [ __ ] J arrer said I got to burn it down to build it up that confirmation will as [ __ ] it ain't too many will as us locking into to what I trust looking outside the kids live tomorrow cuz today the party just he wrote his ass off he did he did he did [Music] yeah uh he wrote his ass off on that though he was writing on that one man shout out to Kendrick he said locking into what I trust looking outside the kids live tomorrow cuz today the party just died and I think that's Kendrick's way of saying when he because he obviously he's been saying he said something about burning it down right just so that people we can start a new right the kids have a chance for tomorrow because we killed the [ __ ] we killed um what rap has turned into or what the music industry has turned into but also culturally right what uh young black kids who are who are impressionable you're giving them a chance right because you're you want to instill them with all the things the tools that they need to be great to be to be honorable and and have character right but we can't do that when we have these these negative images and this sort of degenerative culture that's influencing them right so in order for us to help the youth we got to kill it and burn it down so that they can live so that they can they can thrive in you know for tomorrow right I thought that's at least that's how I took that line I thought that that was dope then after the forge line he said uh they wonder why I'm not enthused to drop I'm assuming droping album the more you're visible the more visible you get the more you're spiritual is tried is what he said so way I'm taking that is uh he takes his time to drop albums you know I mean I don't know if some people love that some people hate that I don't know you guys can comment on that but um he's saying that he's not enthused to do it he doesn't want to just drop albums all the time because the more visible he is the more out there he is the more albums he drops um the more maybe uh open to criticism the more more open to I mean you know positivity too as well but when he says uh your spiritual is tried I think he's just talking about his character and what he who he is as a man you know could be tested because you're more visible in the Limelight so I I like that line I like that take uh I always just thought he just took his time with his albums because he's just very calculated and he's very um he's just a good writer he wants to make sure puts out his best work that's what I always thought uh but maybe it is maybe it's that and it's also just being too visible is just um maybe not something he really wants to partake you know partake in yeah Kendrick's not online you know I mean he he doesn't um uh involve himself with what you typically see he's not on IG live He's not online he's not he tends to get low he to me he always has ComEd off like a reclose right you know I I you know I'll start revving up when it's time to drop an album but other than that man I Dro My album and I'm out you know what I mean I think that's his way of protecting his peace you know I mean you wonder why I'm not enthused to drop cuz every time I do my spirit is tried like I got to deal with the criticism I got to deal with the negativity and and and also I think when he's outside and I'm just seeing the worst of people right I'm seeing the the buffoonery that we've always said right um you know that that is taking place within the culture Within the Music Industry and within the community he comes from he said it's cynical to say I know these artists are petrified the end result in jail by Jezebel b or drugged up full of lies right then he said critical I know my physical is tested all the time I'm pitiful sunk in place as soon as I'm I'm questioning my pride I'm seeing ghost blacking out relapsing one thought at a time he's writing his ass off in this song man he really is the end result in jail by Jezebel or drugged up full of lies so I don't know if he's just talking about dealings with predatory women in this particular line when he says Jezebel you know Jezebel typically looked at as sort of you know I know horse you know I mean for lack of a better word you know what I mean or or again predatory women gold diggers women that are looking for ways to opportunist that are looking for ways to separate you from your money or set you up but then he said critical I know my physical is tested all the time I'm pitiful sunk in place as soon as I'm questioning my pride so I don't know if Kendrick says you know although I I see the nonsense I see all of the negativity that needs to end and cease and I want to destroy it and sad of rebuild it I'm a a product of that too I let my ego lead it's taking that right I'm questioning questioning my pride right I move off of Pride and ego and I'm pitiful you know cuz he's so I don't know if Kendrick is saying um you know my physical is tested all the time is he saying that that's his temptation to indulge with the Jezebels himself you know what I'm saying my my my physical is tested you know I'm pitiful he said after that you know what I mean so maybe he's saying yo dude I'm no stranger to it I could take accountability for indulging in it as well I'm in the sunken place right that's in reference to get the movie get out right I get lost sometimes he said I'm go I'm seeing ghost I'm blacking out uh relapsing one that one thought at a time so I'm seeing ghost right ghost right people once was someone that's alive and then their spirit is still kind of present right I think he's talking about ghost from his past and he says he's relapsing so I even have been known to relapse from time to time right and indulge in things that I know aren't uh uh conducive to me being a better person or you know just progressing myself as a man even make mistakes I think is his way of saying that y I'm relapsing I'm blacking out I'm relapsing one thought thought at a time I like oh I got to catch myself right from going you know from acting like these [ __ ] do every day all day and I don't know if this is a stretch man but I feel like it's a continuation off of why he gets low why he's not visible because he's like dude if if I wasn't visible the end result is you know what I'm saying either a girl taking you to jail on some you know rape [ __ ] or something like that you know or they they they they uh they take advantage of you in some way shape or form right like the Tristan Thompson [ __ ] you know I mean back in the day if you all know about that you know basketball player that got caught up at a club you know they took pictures and videos of them and all so anyway so it's either that or you're drugged up full of lies meaning that people just telling you what you want to hear you think that you're um Untouchable and nothing bad can happen to you and I'm I'm I'm good you know so maybe that is why he gets low like nah you know because I've been there you know what I mean I can say so I know these artists are petrified you know what I'm saying cuz well there's a lot there's a lot that there's a lot of people you know there's a lot of things that are trying to separate these artists from their their money yeah you know what I mean there's a lot of things a lot of barriers that you have to overcome in order to secure what you've earned he said you know I mentally with lay is true I flood the market with my best regards I paid your dues you know what I mean how I'm taking that is I'm I'm doing the work for you I'm doing your work from you I'm picking up the slack is how I'm taking it I'm paying your dues right I flood the marker with my best regards I'm put my best foot forward and trying to steer the ship and save us and I'm paying your dues I'm doing what you should be doing to to help steer the youth and to change The Narrative of what's happening in the music industry I'm paying dues for these [ __ ] so yeah he wrote his ass off on this man I enjoyed um listening to that as far as from the writing and what he was saying um but as far as a song I'm probably never going to listen to this again man um because it just wasn't entertaining to me musically you know what I mean now if he just wrote this [ __ ] on his um on on Instagram and just recited it I be like oh yeah that was hard you know what I mean but put it in thesis or some [ __ ] yeah whatever I Look to music to K cat a Groove those of you that watch this channel know that I'm like man I'm I'm I'm high strung I like to to get a little bounce to it you know what I'm saying or um or just to enjoy it from a um to invoke some kind of emotional response that's that's what I listen to music for but what he said in here he got busy man he got busy and I think um the beat selection for the topic was perfect cuz he killed this [ __ ] yeah the party is dying with this beat it is dying like it is dead it's dead than the [ __ ] yeah so he destroyed the selection of beat for this coupling with it oh you knocked that out the park if you never want [ __ ] it's two it's two people on the Dance Floor slow dancing hugging each other like this everybody else went home and [ __ ] can you imagine being at a barbecue or get together and somebody played this [ __ ] no the party is over that that means they're trying to get you to leave the yeah get the [ __ ] out please it's over it's dead it's dead so he not he destroyed that the messaging destroyed it lyrically destroyed it just not something I'm going to listen to Mike Ryan you got me thinking man um I don't really go into music with uh I need to hear anything in particular I if it's hot as hot if it's if it happens to be educational if it happens to be conscious and it but I like it and I think the lyricism is there and I think the music is there okay great it just either it just either grabs you it either captures my attention or it doesn't I there's plent of conscious songs The Roots most DEA uh uh CH talip quali common there's plenty of people who have made conscious thought-provoking music and made it sound good so I I say that to say I think often times when people say especially new new Kendrick stands and people who are who are newer to rap who have where Kendrick is like their first conscious rapper they think just because you say you don't like a a Kendrick song Oh you gota I see this online all time oh you gotta like little yachty you gota you must be listening to that stop it you know what I'm saying stop that better be talking about us there can't be like a song like this for example right so when you listen to this [Applause] [Music] right you lost in this see I'm just I just want to let them know [Music] like we did we did a reaction to this by the way guys hey come on hey hey hey [Music] hey now you talking my but see hold on hold on Ryan hold on hold on let me get this off cuz this is very important because I want because I know what the comments are saying based off what you just said I just know what people say they just think that just because you don't like a song uh by Kendrick that happens to have messaging in it that all of a sudden you're listening to music that is you only want to hear club music stop it no I I played this song spefic this is the roots what they do for those of you who who don't know we actually did a reaction to this years ago that not too many people gave a [ __ ] about yeah because it's too conscious yeah it's but and it's got too much Groove but but uh the point I'm making is that you can make a conscious song with messaging and it still sound and be groovy and we can appreciate that as well you know what I mean it could still sound good musically it could still appeal to people on a mass scale musically with good messaging you know what I'm saying Marvin Marvin Gay what's going on um that's a [ __ ] song about police brutality right like but it sounds like a smooth out R&B song so he's giv you the medic he's giv you the the medicine in the candy right like that's what he's doing he's you know that's an amazing song that I can listen to all day every day so just because you have a song with strong messaging that's politically driven or socially conscious it doesn't mean you can't make it sound cool or sound interesting I don't feel like the music in this was very interesting I felt like yes I I do feel like it was boring I didn't really like the sample I thought that this is a very just Bland sort of sleepy song musically even though I'm the type of dude that loves the content I thought Kendrick was excellent content wise in is he was excellent but I want to prove a point just because you don't like a Kendrick Lamar song doesn't mean you don't like a substance in your music because I feel like that's a narrative that's gotten out of control Jing in the song just a [Music] snippet send this one out to the mothers to the father to the sisters to the brothers [Music] all hear father to the sisters to the brothers all us all [Music] us if I struggle is a strain then the strain is dominant my name is prominent for entertainment L with consciousness really is just common sense like Lon ly you don't need binoc to see the light coming through the Dome like AOC my listen to that song when you when you came on your free time anytime I could give some a song that I feel like deserves a lot more love and attention song's called All of Us by Talib quali phenomenal song in my opinion and I've never heard that and J Electronica and Ryan's never heard that J Electronica had an incredible verse t t verse is incredible on that that is a that is a conscious song right with WR messaging in it right that has interesting to me in my opinion that has a rhythm when we say hip hop is rhythmic right it's a rhythm to always has been that way right like when we talking about from Sugar Sugar Hill Gang all the way to uh what to Hip Hop today there's rhythm in it it's about having everything make sense the the messaging the music all that that comes together that makes a great song I don't feel like this was a great song from Kendrick regardless of how much I love the writing now now that that's out the way I'm sorry sorry about the delay there but I just wanted to show you because I know people oh they you just like l yach or just because we rock with Drake oh y just only listen to stop it you know I mean I've been listening to rap since the early 90s man I know I I like I like it all from phom M fonte little brother what kind how you want it though you know what I'm saying what kind of coners what kind of hip-hop conversations you want to have baby I got it all for you I'm done I feel like Kendrick over the last couple months throughout this battle and Ryan you don't have to agree with me on this no go ahead go ahead I feel like the industry has pushed Kendrick I do I feel like there has been a an an effort to push Kendrick into this position I agree so far I think the radio personalities I think even Spotify in their own little way I feel like I just feel like a lot of these even fellow rappers a lot of these award shows and all these other things have pushed Kendrick and wanted him to be in this position and I do think that there was this sort of disdain that these same people have for Drake because he doesn't play ball he doesn't uh for the award shows he doesn't go and do interviews with these guys right and he's sort of the um and also some of the stuff could be some of the things that Kendrick said about Drake I get you know what I'm saying like there has been a complacency on Drake's side right I say that to say is it really that bad to have somebody like Kendrick representative of hip-hop you know even though even though I feel like Kendrick's been forced a little bit I'm not sure I'm even mad at Kendrick being in a position to represent hip-hop me either and quite frankly here's a hot take I think that the industry is I think the industry itself is tired of the [ __ ] I do I think a lot of these labels would love to sign artists with substance everybody I talk to that's from a record label always talks about they're the most passionate people about music but yet these labels are signing these artists that don't represent progression you know progression in art right it represents all of these degenerative things that we see and I think that the label saw this opportunity between Kendrick and Drake this battle to prop up an artist that represents um Purity in his art right pushing boundaries artistically right and it would be nice to have this guy in position so that way maybe he can influence maybe this could be a new Reckoning right destroy and rebuild with someone like Kendrick being at the Forefront yeah so that we can get to progression because I feel like these labels they they're going to get to the money regardless you know what I mean they're gonna sign an artist that's going to get a money because they got to keep the lights on but I feel like this is just me maybe it's a hot take that they do want um someone like Kendrick to represent it so that things can change and I thought that they saw this as an opportunity like yo get Drake out of here yes so now we can hopefully krack can inspire people and then the sort of the consensus or the temperature of the public can change and they can want better music I don't know that's just me because everybody's like anti- record label and anti-industry but to me the industry was with Kendrick they were pushing for Kendrick the whole time and I think the industry does want Kendrick these radio personalities these rappers right these influence a lot of these influencers want someone like Kendrick in this position all right with that being said though man I think that this is um very well written song by Kendrick I think that he is putting himself in a position as a leader of of Hip Hop you know I mean I think that he's he's taking the the Reigns and trying to change and write the ship CH change things um and I think the writing was excellent in this man I really do I I don't like the song and it's not something that I'm going to want to play again because just musically doesn't appeal to me but man do I do I always appreciate Kendrick what he brings to the table sir so looking forward to that Super Bowl performance man you know he's going to get crazy it's going to be incredible you know he's going to get crazy incred he's always been a great performer man you know so I'm looking forward to it all right shout out to everybody that requested that that's the end of the video If you
