Gather in your courts to worship and adore your name we give you praise for your children who have come here this morning with a mission to magnify you to glorify you to lift you up and adore you Lord this is a morning set aside for praise and we glorify you Lord we're thankful for your faithfulness we are thankful for your provision we are thankful Lord for everything that you have done for us during this past week this past month and even in our lives to this day Hallelujah to to Your Name Lord we will not let anything block your Praises this morning because you have given us what we have asked of you most of all Jesus you gave your life thank you Lord thank you as your children come this morning Lord help us to be aware of our responsibilities Lord we need to share the Gospel wherever we go we need to tell others about you and as we come here this morning help us to seek you in a new way that different things will happen in this place today to glorify you Lord let us look to you for a Revival something new in our lives we don't want the same old story Lord we want want something new that will let us dance around this place let us shout to you let us go through these doors and Shout that Jesus is Lord Lord we present Jamaica to you this morning oh God we see what the devil is trying to do but we trample him in the name of Jesus we release your presence in this country Lord it is a country that has been given to you is that it is a country that you have blessed and we will accept nothing less God we praise you we thank you for the mothers we thank you for the fathers who are going to bring up their children in a way that they will come to know you and live for you in this country Lord we presentent the education system to you this morning Lord as we open the schools this month walk in them Lord Jesus walk hand in hand with the teachers walk hand in hand with the children walk hand in hand with the parents we're asking for your direction and Lord we know how we can get it because you have instructed us that if we will pray Lord you will answer and you will heal our land heal Jamaica this morning I pray take control Lord let your wings be spread over all the areas this morning that need you we hand our 14 Parishes to you we hand our communities to you we hand our small districts to you because you can change the situation in all of them Lord we want a special day today a special day empower the praise team Lord Jesus as they sing Lord anoint the musicians as they play and let your children worship you let your children stand and give you praise and honor and Glory as you lead I thank you this day for what you're going to to do remember the children that we take to Sunday school this morning Lord as they are maybe preparing at home as they're on their way touch their little lives I pray remember the teachers Lord give them what they need the patience the love the authority to deal with these little children who need to hear from you Lord we are just grateful this morning our hearts are bubbling with praise and honor to you do what you want in this place today because we give it to you we recognize your presence at this time and we want something different about this child Lord help us in this Fellowship to continue to nurture them to the best of our ability Lord God they are our future right here in this Fellowship in the communities in which they reside Lord God and in our island Jamaica Lord we just thank you once more for them you said they in Heritage Lord God and we just ask you to cover them Lord from the crown of their heads to The Souls of their feasts we ask you to continue to bless the homes from which They Come Bless the teach te and continue to give them the patience the understanding from the homes which they come Lord we ask Lord God that you continue to provide for them in a special way Lord I know that there are many children going back to school tomorrow the CH the parents don't even know where the first book is coming from but Lord God you say Lord God we should ask for whatever we need and you will supply it according to your riches in glory and Lord God we stand on your words even there's purpose in this when we sing these songs remember what's happening you know what's happening is that we are affirming certain things values and virtues because when we praise God we are saying God is the authority and he's a good authority that God is Justice true and when we sing Our songs we are celebrating Justice that's what this is about so when God says Sing it's not just about him having an ego problem and wanting people to serenate him that's not what this is about you know it's about elevating Justice goodness love righteousness when we sing these songs when the spirit of the Lord comes upon my heart I will sing like David David you know why God says David is a man after my own heart anybody knows why in the Scriptures it says David this is a man after my own heart because David was a guy who loved Justice David said I will not allow somebody who lies to stick around me anybody who lie I don't want you to come around me anybody who is who cheats and and God sees David heart and say this dude has a heart for righteousness now David messed up several times but God says I see his heart and he really wants what is right he's a humble fellow wanting Justice and remember from Genesis to revelation we see a God of Justice can you say justice justice that's what that's why we gather here that's what this is all about our Christianity is a movement of Justice For Justice we are not a religious folk we're a folk that stand up for virtue and what's right amen that is what this is about so let me just try to let's put everything we do in order what Hope Fellowship is about what service is about what living our calling is about it's about making sure you and I stand up for justice because our Father God is about Justice when Jesus said I must be about my father's what I must be about my father's what what business is that is that selling Fried Chicken is that selling cars on dealership the business of his father is the business about bringing in Justice not Injustice Justice and so we gather together on on mornings like this and we have communion set up because it reminds us of who who we are and what we're about because you can bet your bottom dollar that come Monday you will be faced with choices and choices about will you stand for justice will you represent truth and what is right and when we come together like this and read the Bible it's not just a a religious practice guys it's not just a religious practice to say I'm a Christian and so I come to church what you're saying is that I have a I am a person of morals I'm a person of Integrity I'm a person that stands up for what is right that's what you that's what you're numbering yourself amongst you know this this year you know why Jesus had to be Resurrected and we're going to get you you I know we're on a series and I'll get to that but you know why Jesus had to be resurrected because it was Justice he was executed unrighteously in wickedness there was no sin in him he didn't try to overturn the Romans he wasn't trying to assassinate Herod so they had no reason to kill him no reason to execute him that was Injustice and if God allowed Injustice to stand we have a problem with God because God them kill him and them should not kill him well him in hell can't stand God said no no never on my watch will Injustice Prevail and so rise up my son to the highest Throne king of kings and Lord of lords you run things now Justice you know I don't see Jesus going we want Justice you don't have to do that the father would say I will give you justice and in the very same way God is saying I will give you justice everything in heaven is going to support your Justice where you are suffering Injustice Ain No Angel can be in bed while you're being you're suffering Injustice it may be for a season but ultimately God says justice will come amen God is good all the and all the time is good what does it mean God is righteous God is just remember Exodus 32:3 speaks of Moses analyzing God's character and say ascribe greatness to God his work is perfect and all his ways are ways of Justice that's Moses after analyzing who God is he said this dude he's awesome and he's all about Justice your father your heavenly father is all about Justice and so I remind you before we delve into the a specific topic for today I remind you don't step out from from under his Umbrella by going into the ways of Injustice you don't get named amongst those that are criminals and in and don't have integrity when you say a thing you're not backing it up because then God guess what you could sing and dance like you want but then God has to say dude you're you're one of those that I have to step up against because if you are backing Injustice and criminality and and wrongdoings and so on and you're hurting people and cheating people and abusing people then I going have to stand against you you say but God God I I'm a Christian I'm a Christian no no if you're doing the wrong and hurting and abusing Thou Art not a follower of mine you remember what the people say Lord Lord do we not cast out demons in your name did we not prophesy in Your Name Lord said know you brother what did um I I constantly try to remember this this quote by by um Martin Luther King junr the moral Arc of the universe who know who knows that quote the moral can Google it oh boy can Google it the Arc of the moral universe or she's Googling it all when she gets it she'll remind us it you found it read it for me please you have that microphone just go right ahead the Ark of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice so the Arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards Justice it takes a may take a while and and that's his perspective that's how he interprets it but he's right Justice is absolute it comes in the end it will always come in the end so though we see you know oppression corruption crime and so on you know people call oh Karma catch up with him no there's no such thing as karma there's God's justice and that's what it boils down to all right so good so we started last week on on a series called The Off David series and we're just picking three things that we're going to be talking about of David and we're going to extract the truth out of it and see how it relates to us now yes David you heard Robert thank you again Robert for that song Robert was singing you know when the spirit of the Lord comes upon my heart I'll dance like David did why do we make all this references to David and as a church in Kingston Jamaica why does David even matter to us well yes indeed David is in the Bible and we see that God uses his story uses stuff of of his his life's experience to to to tell us what is available to us God chose that little dude David for whatever reason God chose him just like God chose Abraham and God decides I'm going to use you little dude David and I'm going to establish some things through you that will last forever and we see I said this last week as we talked about the key of the what the what the Key of David right that David said to God and I'm going to read it again David said to God in 2 Samuel 7 18-9 I'm going to pick it up from yeah from from 18 yeah then went King David in and sat before the Lord and said who am I oh Lord God and what is my house that you have brought me here 19 and this was yet a small thing in your sight oh Lord God but you have spoken also of your servant's house house for a great while to come so he's saying God what you seeing me so that you want to establish me and use me so he was amazed that God chose him and as we said last week even till today on the flag of Israel what do we see the star of this little youth something they associate now they have debates about whatever but today you in Jamaica in Kingston Jamaica in 2024 can say the Star of David which David the same David So in 2024 this dude is relevant to the world you see that blue and white flag flying with that star you immediately say Israel you immediately say Star of David which David the same young man that God made a commitment to and so we started last week and we said the Key of David and that represents Spiritual Authority that God started a thing in David and that we see David able to execute certain things in the spirit like nobody else not even Moses not even Daniel not even Joshua we didn't see those things in Elijah or Elisha David David got on his harp and played a played a tune and it affected the spirit realm where nefarious spirit had to back up and you know again how does that all relate remember now nefarious Spirits these evil spirits they are relevant to righteousness and Justice and so on you know because they are they're there to convince people do the wrong so when David gets on his thingy and he plays he plays something yeah God anoints him in such a way that it begins to impact the atmosphere somehow and that the evil things that try to push Injustice have to back off that's an authority that God gave the little guy amazing the whole Old Testament we don't see that again nobody else have that Authority but then we get into the New Testament and Jesus thank you so much really appreciate it Jesus now makes it available on a wide scale and then Jesus said you don't have to be able to play the keyboard or the harp to do this you can say it and these things that torment people and try to put wickedness in their mind morning noon and night have to listen to you now so much so that the disciples say Lord hey let me tell you something Jesus you know when you sent us out you sent us out and and we use your name even the spirits are subject to us they never find that in the Old Testament they don't have no reference for that so they're saying a walk go on right so Jesus make we can speak to Spirit and them listen to us and not I speak to my son and listen to me and not I speak to my wife and may I speak to spiritual realm things that me say stand up so and me say I think go and go you know how frighten the devil must have be when them see these things because they have never experienced it human beings able to talk to them and tell them come out and them have to listen centuries and they never experienced that before centuries them enjoy playing with people and tempting and torment and bring headache and disease and now somebody can say cut it out don't trouble me anymore GSA and then have a back up so the Key of David Authority given to the believer through Jesus Christ that's what it represent an author Spiritual Authority do you know this listen to this because we could really have a long session we could spend holy per time on the Key of David and the Dynamics of that key do you realize that anybody in here anybody male female Young all you have the power listen you have the power to speak a word to another human being and allow them to come into eternal life there's something you can do to enable another human being destined for an eternity of damnation to come into an eternity of bliss and blessing you can you remember when the Lord sent Peter to Cornelius angel said brother stay right here we will give you the Word of Life Send for Peter send for a human being named Peter he will when him come him going to tell you some things and that will give you eternal life do you know an angel or something you know then people might not know he's an angel can speak to your boss and the boss say please just call call Christine for me I need to talk to her something just tell me so she can tell me something that will give me hope and when you come in the office and the boss say talk to me you're a Christian right talk to me you know so I really feeling depressed and I really feeling like ending it all tell me something you have the words of life you can pluck that person from dation into Glory from just what you know and what you can say that's power that's Authority that that's you and you know what we don't really realize how awesome this is because you know we sit down we see each other we get you know complacent with some things but this the fact that you can bring somebody into eternity with God is a big deal in fact the disciples Jesus said many people wanted to understand this thing way back when but it was not given to them but to you in this generation is this Authority given now it is released so the ordinary who comes into it can carry it the Key of David there's still some elements where Jes Jesus Jesus will be the you know the government shall be upon his shoulder and there's a dynamic of governance that is in that is related to that too all right but we not to to to go back over that today we move into the what the mercies the sure mercies of David as you heard read Isaiah 55 so what what is this all about the one verse that we're circling of course is verse three Isaiah 55 it says incline you your ear and come unto me here and your soul shall live and I will what uh-oh Isaiah 53:3 in Incline your ear come unto me here and your soul shall live and I will ever I will make an Everlasting Covenant with you even the sure mercies of David so God is saying a prophetic word come to me I'm going to make you make a covenant with you not just a covenant for a while an Everlasting Covenant even then and he's qualifying it he's explaining it what the Covenant is what is the Covenant the contract is he say it's a contract that is called the sure mercies of David it's a contract that has Eternal significance and so it's a big deal God is saying come you can get this you know what I I let me say this um if you if you don't understand God you know uh and you don't understand his ways the the average person on the outside can figure well isn't God unfair isn't God then you look at if if you are claiming if this person is blessed on another person is not isn't God unfair if this person gets help from heaven and another person does not isn't God unjust the answer is no because God qualifies who he helps and how he helps by virtue of what the individuals take up so he lays down a contract that anyone can sign and then for those who sign that contract they get the help from God and so he's not unjust or unfair do you understand what I'm saying it's it's one of the reasons why you know Paul tries to to explain something in um in Romans 3:23 to 26 I'm going to read it Romans 3:23 to 26 it says for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God verse 24 being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus 25 whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are passed through the forbearance of God to declare I say at this time his righteousness that he might be just that he God might be just and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus what's happening here this is an effort to explain that even though God wants to bless one and God will judge another he's still just even though God will remove one person's sins and hold some another person's sins he still fear why does one person go to hell damnation and another one go to heaven and God be fair when all have sinned when everybody mess up and everybody you know it's again it's a justice issue well because God Mak makes a contract a covenant available to everyone and whosoever will can take up that Covenant and therefore qualify for God's mercies and so this is what the sure mercies of David is about it's about the creation of a contract that qualifies certain folk to receive God's favor it's about a contract that qualifies some people to get the blessing for God to have their back it's not a light thing when almighty God have your back you know is a big deal and it can seem unfair to some people you know God are you bless her soul well she take up the contract the sure Mercy of David the thing that was demonstrated in David the thing that God said he was going to do that David because you are looking to me and you love me and you're willing to walk with me and work with me I'm going to create this whole contract and the favor that I put on you whoever signs this agreement will also have the same favor it doesn't matter if they live in Trinidad Barbados the US in Iran Iraq in Germany in Jamaica once they take up the contract then I will remove their sins and they will have the blessings of Heaven it's hard sometime to think that the old murderer y the old rapist youth the old teing youth can take up a contract it's hard right said but but the only way God can forgive him because still God is the just a God of Justice so how God how you how you not you bless the th in youth on the basis of his repentance his taking up a contract of change of transformation now he qualifies now there's still some work to do on him and some consequences for his rape for his robbery for his murder the law of the land still has to roll out and he must answer for those things but as far as in the spirit goes and mind support I know people I mean I know I know guys who were drug dealers big big drug dealers and they are powerful Christians today there are people who were Witch Doctors obia men witches who are powerful Christians today you said what God you know when I think of the you know one of my favorite stories is the story of Rahab Rahab the prostitute sex worker right doing very good with her business down in Jericho everybody know her and I'm thinking if I were God I am bringing down the walls of Jericho and people like a if anybody the wall them must come down and and must get you know she's morning noon and night that's her job but God in his in his Mercy in a very strange Mercy a powerful Mercy says you know it it sometime it overwhelmed me the love that God have sometime for somebody will just say see me here God help me out I want to sign the contract I want to take up the Covenant of your Mercy you know who that woman turned out to be and one day I want to talk about it here do you know who she turned out to be David's great great grandmother you ever heard about boas in the book of root Boaz is her son her son the Lord settle her down so much so give her a husband give her a family and have her name in his word over and over Hallelujah Hebrews you look her name is there in the lineage of Jesus Christ her name is there that's Mercy he said God but the same woman The Prostitute lady God say I love her like wow the sure mercies of David now David is a great great great grandson but God has tied the title love this kind of Mercy you know we say New Testament you know we say New Covenant but God is identifying it as the sure mercies of David hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah look at acts you say is this so Pastor Chris how do I know that this is so well look at acts 13 in Acts 13 it explains the roll out of this thing called the sh mercies of David in Acts chapter 13 we're only going to take one verse this morning of it just for the sake of time acts 13 when you do have the chance read the whole chapter and you will see how it you know Paul expounds on the sure mercies of David and what it entails so acts 13:34 is the only verse we'll read Paul is preaching indeed teaching the Jews and he says and as concerning that he Jesus he the father raised him Jesus from the dead so he raised him up from the dead now no more to return to corruption he said on this wise I will give you the sure mercies of David that's in the New Testament that's acts 13 I will give you the sure mercies of David so he there is a roll out of the thing that was prophesied it's showing that it's full fulfilled in the New Testament that this new arrangement of this thing called mercy and Grace will be extended to all to the whosoever will come and the mercies the kinds of mercies and favor that this little dude named David received from God then the average man the average woman can receive the same mercy and favor that God anchored in David through who Jesus Jesus Christ through the way that Jesus makes now the criminal boy am repent and God says dude I have your back anybody know stories like that people in prison and pray the prayer of repentance and God get them out early because they change and God blessed them powerful evangelists drug dealers pimps prostitutes thief and still God would love them dearly and bless them properly how in the world God the sure mercies of David the contract the Covenant of Mercy see God doesn't just time and you know when we pray again let's qualify and understand how prayer works again right that we are not praying and trying to make God feel good and on the basis of how good God feels from what we said or what words we use God responds that's not how it works you could try to tickle God's fancy as much as you want to get him to help you that's not what budges him what budges him is your recognition of the Covenant on the basis of a contract when you start to say God on the Bas bis of the contract the Covenant the sure mercies of David help me get this job then that that's what register with God do you realize that the crucifixion of Our Lord was based on a deal the whole reason Jesus suffer and died in is to establish a deal a deal and I mean you'd say but father is that fear you allow your son to die where we esta in a contract so that we can pour out favor and Jesus says if the cup can pass from me Father let's make it pass now father say no it have to be executed so we can that nothing can budge this deal and so the mercies that's given you to get help from Heaven nothing can budge the deal there's nothing that anybody can accuse you of there's no demon no devil that can accuse you and claim something once you are standing in the Covenant the sure mercies of David and when you cry out to heaven for help again it's not beg you're begging God God don't want you beg him God is not like that he know he don't want you beg him for nothing he wants you to know your rights by virtue of the deal so it's much more solid than feelings you know I I don't feel the presence of God I don't feel God here I don't know if God going to help me well what the contract say if the contract say call onto me and I will answer you that's the contract say God I apologize and I I have I have taken up this sure Mercy is and I I give myself to you and my hope is in your mercy through Jesus Christ then that's good enough to get his help Hallelujah blessed be his name Hallelujah God is good Hallelujah with starlink or Teslas we're not saying who well Steve Jobs gone what whichever Fortune 500 executive makes a contract with you to give you money Bill Gates Warren buffet and you know what happen you makes a contract with us and we kind of sometime it not really make a a big difference to us and and sometime our singers have to try crank us up to remember say a contract signed with us to get favor favor opportunity Advantage help from Heaven that's something to dance about and to smile morning noon and night is the guy that wrote a book called the happiest people on Earth We're supposed to be the happiest people on Earth because there's a contract with you and even if things you know you say things flop here guess what things will not always flop for you it's going to manifest that you are resurrection of Jesus Christ when we accept that and as often as we remember that we take Bread and Wine and we say Lord I take your sacrifice as my portion as I come into contract with you as I establish my Covenant with you to experience those sure mercies of David to experience your favor upon my life and upon my household that's how we establish the contract we sign it with an exercise we sign it with Deeds Done In His Name by faith so the Bible says [Music] in Ephesians 2:8 for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God and so you're going to be taking this as the gift of God establishing your Covenant again your contract your deal in Jesus Christ that I and my household will receive the favor of God upon me amen Hallelujah are we do we for God's purpose I'm here so I'm in a partial so I am doing my job which is to keep the contract to cover the contract and so your blessing is on the basis of this contract your covering is on the basis of this contract nothing you could do nothing you could you can't give enough money to church or charity to qualify for God's favor the only thing you can do to qualify for God's favor and the same manner also he took the cup and when he had stopped saying this cup is the New Testament or the new contract or the New Deal the New Covenant in my blood this do ye as often as you drink it in remembrance of me for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup you do show the Lord's death until he comes then there is an admonition in verse 2 27 it says wherefore whoever shall eat this bread and drink this cup of the Lord unworthily shall be guilty notice that word guilty of the body and blood of the Lord but let a man examine himself and so let him eat and and drink of the cup what does it mean it means everybody that's going to participate that's going to sign this contract should submit themselves to it so let's just take a moment what does that mean in short submit confess your sins if there are things to confess just confess those sins so before we eat and drink let every person consider themselves and the condition you're in if the mistakes you've made then just acknowledge it to God so let's just take a couple seconds right now to Bow our heads and to make amends and to confess where we've made mistakes and to ask God for forgiveness and then we will move on e amen so the expectation is that you apologize to the Lord for where you made an error error in judgment error in things you did something you did to someone something you said to someone you confess it you apologize father I'm sorry and I will seek to make amends with that is concerned but I take up the Covenant right now and I thank you for Jesus's death burial and resurrection and I claim it as applying to my life so that's what we're doing right now let's take that bread or the wafer and in the name of the father and the son and of the Holy Spirit let's eat together thank you Father thank you for your mercy thank you for the Forgiveness of sins thank you for help from Heaven thank you for qualifying us when we disqualified ourselves thank you for making us the people of the blessing we you never give the person the thing that you had committed to make it right be champions of justice of integrity and Truth this will make us have something to show that we are above the Ordinary by this shall all men know that you are my disciples when you have love one for the other and love is exercised in works of Justice kindness compassion all right so let's be ch I of that this week well
