[Music] well another day and another issue for lucasfilm lucasfilm sued over Rogue one's use of Peter Cushing as Grand mooff Tarkin guys it's come out here that apparently Lucas film kind of just did what they wanted to do and didn't really take any consideration in for using the likeliness of obviously Grand Moff Tarin as reported by the times a friend of Cushing has alleged Disney did not have permission to recreate the actor's image with special effects for rogue one obviously they had to do the Deep fake re CGI remake of MF Tarkin and Princess Leia for that movie but anyway they did not have permission to recreate the actor's image with special effects Disney tried and failed to have a case dismissed for a second time on September 9th 2024 it seems like Disney's always trying to worm their way out of these legal battles whether it's the person dying from the allergies at their theme park or the garano situation whatever the case is they try to just get out of all of these legal battles and I don't blame them as a company but they keep up and doing stupid like this it just makes them look worse and worse and they have to face it head on they can't just worm their way out of it but here we have it says Lucas film claimed it didn't think it needed provision to recreate Cushing's image due to his original contract his original contract back in 1977 for obviously A New Hope holy how stupid do you have to be over 40 years almost 50 years and you think the contract the original contract back then was was still a viable contract today that is that is the most thing in the world it also paid around 37,000 to Cushing's estate after being contacted by his agent about the recreation at the end of the day you would think lucasfilm would take the necessary steps to make sure these kind of things don't happen whether the guy actually did have a contract between uh Cushing and himself back in 1993 who actually knows any of this stuff but it's been proven enough to be actually taken to court the judge said this is actually something worthy of seeing its time I find it incredibly strange that Lucas film they just claim straight up that they did not need or think they needed permission to use his likeliness in the film that's just a terrible mistake on their part as a company coming out and saying that a contract he signed back in 1977 and he died in '94 I I don't know what the thought process is here with Lucas film but it seems like they're failing in almost every facet whether it's their TV shows their movies their Executives showrunners actors it's just every single thing that comes out with this company in recent time has been an absolute Nightmare and they are falling deeper and deeper into a pit that they are just not able to climb out of at this point people look at this company and see it for what it is now when you see more stuff like this just tacked on top it really makes you wonder what the actual good Lord is happening over there
