late round running backs can be the key to winning fantasy football leagues as you'll have known from last season if you drafted late round stars like Kiren Williams or Raheem MOA but if you drafted one of the other suggested sleepers like Rashad Penny he won't have contributed at all to your fantasy team in 2023 so it's important not just to draft late round sleepers but make sure that you hit on these suggestions in order to bring home that title in this video I've got four running backs being drafted outside of the top 24 who are Prime in place to contribute massively to your fantasy team and Propel you all the way to that title let's get into it welcome it's to fancy [Music] [Applause] pancake yes welcome back to fany Pancake I'm delighted that you could join me today I've got four running backs for you being drafted outside of the top 24 who I think are guaranteed to be huge contributors for your fantasy team in 2024 one of which is a deep sleeper being drafted all the way after running back 70 but the first running back that I'd like to talk about today is someone that moved teams this offseason he's in a prime position to succeed even though he disappointed us last season it's Tony Pollard who moved to the Tennessee Titans this last off season now Tony polard is being drafted as the RB 20 6 in 2024 a huge decline from his finish as PPR rb14 last season now I know it was a hugely disappointing season for Tony polard in 2023 we'd all been waiting for Ezekiel Elliot to leave the Dallas Cowboys and Tony paard to finally have full control over that background but when it finally happened he felt incredibly disappointing due to being drafted as the rb7 in 2023 but the rb14 Finish wasn't actually all that bad he absolutely contributed to your fancy teams even if he didn't have the top 12 finish we were all hoping for the key with Tony polard is from week 10 on last season he was pff's number one graded running back now Tony Bard does find himself in a new situation this season obviously in Dallas he was running behind a fantastic offensive line and with a fantastic offense around him giving him lots of opportunities to score in the red zone now he finds himself in Tennessee after the release of fre agent running back Derk Henry he signed the same three-year $21 million deal that a bunch of the other free agent running backs signed but it felt slightly strange that Tennessee would go out of their way to spend all of this money on a new running back when they drafted Ty J Spears on day two just the season before the thing to remember about Tai J Spears is that even though he's incredibly talented he came into the league with the same knee problems that saw Todd Gurley retire early so Tai J spe is likely not to be a huge factor for that long into the NFL an old adage is to follow the money NFL teams like to tell you which players they're intending on starting now they've gone out of their way to pay Tony paard and Tai J Spears is still on a rookie contract the likelihood is with these two running backs on the roster you're going to see about a 6040 split between the two but that alone is enough for Tony po to vastly outproduce the running back 26 cost now you might think that part of the issue for Tony polard is the Titans offensive line and yes in 20203 the Titans graded out per PFF as a bottom half run blocking offensive line but this offseason that's been a huge position that they've targeted drafting JC leam in the first round in the NFL draft and going out of their way to pick up Andre Dillard and Daniel brunskill in free agency and in the preseason with the caveat that it is the preseason they graded out per PFA as the best run blocking line in the NFL so there is a decent chance that Tony Pollard following the money following the talent and following the Improvement in the offensive line could have a chance to drastically outperform the rb26 price tag and finish at least as a top 20 running back in 2024 while you're here if you're enjoying the content please just take a moment to like And subscribe we've passed 60 subscribers and I'd really like to carry on that Trend this is video three and there's so much more planned now the next running back that I'm going to talk about is my most drafted running back on DraftKings this off season he's currently going as the RB 34 despite finishing his running back 22 last season and is in an offense that I spoke about in my last video one with a new offensive coordinator and a new quarterback and there's a lot of potential for Brian Robinson from the Washington commanders to be a real upside pick this season now Brian Robinson is isn't the most talented back in the NFL he's average at a lot of things which is quite similar when you look at PFF where he grades pretty averagely across the board but as an allrounder he does have the talent to succeed in a variety of situations The crucial thing about him is that the Washington commanders have a rookie quarterback so might look to run the ball even slightly more than they did last season last season the Washington commanders had the highest percentage of passing plays to running plays with Sam H how Chuck the ball around all over the place mostly to opposing quarterbacks but this season with Cliff Kingsbury they'll look to run the ball at a slightly higher rate and you can hear here exactly how much Cliff Kingsbury rates Brian Robinson B Rob is he's a you know he's a number one back in this league there's no doubt I mean he's I think after this season if he stays healthy people will recognize what he can do in the Run game and the pass game and now the main downside case of Brian Robinson in 2024 is that the commanders went and signed Austin at from the Los Angeles Chargers now osta was a confusing piece last season being drafted as the rb2 overall but looking completely terrible for the entirety of the season I did a deep dive on Austin ekler on my website earlier in this offseason and I said that I was hoping that we'd hear that he'd had some sort of injury in this past season that would explain what had happened to him and why he looked so slow now unfortunately we didn't get this so it seems like the reality is that Austin eka is just what and passed it at however old he is now this is obviously bad news for Austin Eckler but it's very promising news for Brian Robinson if Austin ekler is showing absolutely no juice Brian Robinson is more likely to get a full three down workload do I think he's going to be a Workhorse no probably not but can he get enough work in a high-powered offense or an offense with the potential to be high powerered with new rookie quarterback Jaden Daniels in order to completely sustain that RB 34 volume and actually outperform that price yes I think he definitely can and it's why due to the lower price I've been drafting a lot of Brian Robinson this offseason I don't think he quite has the ceiling of someone like Tony Pollard but I think he absolutely has the flaw to vastly outperform RB 34 where you're drafting him on sleeper the third running back that I'd like to Target in 2024 is being drafted just after Brian Robinson rb35 he's likely to be the lead back in a run heavy scheme but he's someone that's still being drafted all the way down the board just because he's older and doesn't quite have the upside of some of the younger players Gus Edwards was brought into the Los Angeles Chargers this last off season now the LA Chargers obviously made a lot of changes this last offseason bringing in Jim Harbor as their new coach Greg Roman as their new offensive coordinator releasing a lot of great talented weapons so they got rid of Austin Eckler they got rid of Mike Williams and they traded Keenan Allen they replaced these wide receivers with not a huge amount lad makoni came in they picked up DJ CH DJ CH I think is the next wide receiver on the depth chart that they picked up they've still got Quentin Johnston and at running back they had a bit of a committee approach so they went and signed JK Dobbins on a veteran minimum deal they drafted kamani Vidal in the sixth round but before they did either of those two things they went and signed Gus Edwards for a 2-year $6.5 million deal now as I said when I was talking about Tony polard money talks in the NFL and the timing talks as well obviously they went and signed JK Dobbins who was with Greg Roman in Baltimore but they did it quite late on into free agency when it was clear that JK Dobbins didn't have much of a market and wasn't going to get paid a huge amount so they could go and take the chance on a back who'd been injured recently but is incred incredibly talented if he can get back to it the problem is it doesn't seem like JK Dobbins is ever going to get back to his pre-injury form whereas Gus Edwards was incredible last season considering the cost finishing as a mid-range rb2 with quite a lot of touchdowns as well now this entire offseason the Chargers have been telling you that they want to run the ball even so far as when they drafted Joe alal a fifth overall instead of a wide receiver why are we taking the lead back on a run heavy offense with a good offensive line and very few weapons all the way down at running back 35 I know that Gus Edwards isn't the most exciting piece and he probably doesn't have the oppos upside to finish in the top 12 but he can absolutely contribute to your fantasy team and vastly outperform that cost with a Finish Well into the top 24 I know he's old I know he's not the sexiest names but old unsexy running backs can sometimes be the key to success in fancy football the last running back in this video is someone that I've been incredibly excited to draft all offseason and if you've made it to the end then you're going to be rewarded with this year's deep sleeper he could be quite similar to Kin Williams last year it's his first year in the league and there's a veteran running back in front of him that the coaching staff are kind of telling you that they don't like that much the running back that I think is this year's deep sleeper is audri ese of the Denver Broncos audri es is being taken this offseason as the running back 71 which I think is really way too low considering the backfield that's around him we obviously recently got the news that Samari perine was cut from the Broncos but there's still two other running backs to challenge estimate on the roster that's Javonte Williams and Jalil mcin Javonte Williams is in his contract year and the Broncos coaching staff are already starting to tell you that they don't see a future for him with the team starting to rotate him in and out last season and javante has struggled with injuries the entire time he's been in the league Jalil mlin has graded really well and performed like it as well since he's been in the league the problem for him is that he was a udfa and the NFL doesn't tend to forget about where you were drafted just ask James Robinson who I think was just cut from his eighth team audri ese has a great chance to thrive this year but it's probably not going to be a mediate however going forward I think the coaching staff see EST and McLaughlin quite similar to how Shawn pyton used Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara back in his time in New Orleans orri ese is a physical running back someone who seeks out contact and is willing to grind to get those extra few yards Jalil mlin is much better in the passing game the combination of these two could lead to a really effective rushing attack to help support rookie quarterback Bo Knicks now obviously Javonte is currently in the way but there's a chance given that this is his last season in Denver that he ends up traded or cut before the deadline potentially to the Cowboys who even after signing Dalvin cook still need a running back if Javonte left es would 100% be the lead back on the goal line and in short yardage areas Jalil mlin is probably going to be more of the passing down back but audri ese has shown enough trust by the coaching staff in this preseason and has performed pretty well that I think he is a lock to outperform running back 71 not that it takes a huge amount to outperform running back 71 but I definitely think he's going to do it so those are my four running backs that I think have the potential to vastly outperform their cost this coming season they're all being drafted outside the top 24 but I think they all have the upside to finish within that top 24 and contribute as rb2 and flexes for your fancy teams That's Tony Pollard Brian Robinson Gus Edwards and my deep sleeper audri ese thank you so much for watching please carry on and watch a few other videos on the channel my name's LS wood and I'll see you next time [Music]
