Lashbrook Tonight: Drier air moves in tonight with lower humidity allowing for lows in the lower 60s for northern zones and mid 60s elsewhere under mostly clear skies. Sunday: Humidity will begin to resurge inland during the day with afternoon highs in the upper 80s near 90 degrees with peak heat index values in the mid-to-upper 90s under partly cloudy skies. Winds will be breezy at times from the northeast around 5-10 miles per hour. There will be a slim chance for a few showers over southern areas in the afternoon while most of the area stays dry. Into the nighttime hours, there will be a little bit better chance for showers to inland up to the 10/12 corridors. Beyond: Deeper tropical moisture resurges back northward into Louisiana by Tuesday which will bring numerous showers and storms. Weather over mid-week looks rather wet and dependent on the development of a tropical storm in the Gulf. Heavy rainfall will be possible to bring back a flooding threat. High temperatures will remain below average in the lower 80s before warming by next weekend. Tracking the Tropics: Invest 91L is now Potential Tropical Cyclone Six in the Southwest Gulf where a tropical storm is expected to form over the Western Gulf over the next day. This will move northward strengthening to a hurricane by Wednesday before moving inland into Southern Louisiana likely Wednesday night. More heavy rainfall is expected for the Gulf Coast.
