big game on Saturday really big game Saturday lunchtime kickoff uh 12:30 it's a game that is live on talk Sport AS Arsenal take on Brighton I like this one like this so I think Fabian H's done a fantastic job at Brighton obviously we saw them get a result against Manchester United by the way Brighton I mean everyone's talking about Liverpool Man City and arsal rightly so right Brighton as well two from two they only have a club no they they they have done exceptionally well they really have and when you think about the way that they've that they've done their business in the window you know they've brought in a man a manager that is 31 years old the way that they destroyed Everton was just an example to everyone wasn't it the goal that they scored you know the goal that went from Minter on One Wing crossed right over to the opposite Wing where um Moma finished it off yeah the quality in that goal was up there with anything that you will see scored by any team and any player yeah they really really are doing so well and everything that I said you know I thought it was unsustainable I thought you couldn't constantly go from Potter into derer into her like it just couldn't work you can't constantly reimagine yourself constantly redefine your squad constantly improve but they defile logic and they can yeah what surprises me as well how they seem to be able to eek out stuff from older players Welbeck I mean Welbeck all of a sudden looks like he can do a bit of but they marry it up really well don't they because there's there's youth within the team there's youth on the there's youth on the bench like the manager is 31 and yet they you're right they make full use of of everything in their Arsenal yeah these experienced Pros they almost just completely I know what they're doing with them I do want to focus on Arsenal just because Arsenal have been very busy in the window more busy in terms of outgoing like he's now starting to really trim the squad again so important Addy though you know when we talk about the transfer window you know whenever we focus on did a team have a good transfer window or a bad transfer window we often approach it through the lens of going this team sign these players and it was there a good window what makes a truly good window is signing the players that you need but keeping that revolving door turning making sure that the players that are going to be cluttering up the dressing room maybe being a a slight distraction maybe uh could could bring some value Financial value to the club keeping that door moving is so important and AR proved that he's done that over the years as well obviously he had that big one when he first came in and got rid of the likes of Vero on abame and he's done it again now these are the four that have gone there's been others have' gone younger players but these are the four senior Pros that have gone Aaron ramsdale has gone to Southampton looks like that one's pretty much close to happening Fab has gone on loan to Porto Eddie and ker is on his way to Crystal Palace and EML Smith row is already started well for Fulham by the way a lot of people saying he should have got into England squad but he's gone to Fulham um ree Nelson's obviously um looks like he's been linked with a move his way to Fulham as well um in terms of those players so again Aaron ramell Fabio Vieira Eddie andet Emil Smith ree Nelson has he got any of those wrong should any of those still will be at the club no I mean I think he got Fabio Vieira wrong when he signed him so no he didn't he didn't get that wrong I think you could argue and maybe I'm wrong here and without knowing Aaron ramsdale personally it's very difficult to to to say I don't know what sort of distraction he will be I don't know what sort of Personality he has at training but I believe that Aaron ramsdale if you could keep Aaron ramsdale to be a backup it's an excellent player to have okay fair like Aaron ramale was a very good goalkeeper yeah you know a couple of years ago like everybody focuses on the year before last but it was the year before that he was he was amazing I remember when when Arsenal went to Arsenal went to White hot to the Tottenham hot stadium and the score finished 2-0 to Arsenal it was actually the day the reason I can remember it do you remember when a Tottenham fan tried to give Aaron ramsdale a kick at the end of the game it was that game the score finished 2-0 to Arsenal that day I promise you if you swapped goalkeepers the score would have finished 2-0 to Tottenham that's how good Aaron ramsdale was the reason why arsal won 2-nil was because Aaron ramsdale was so good and he wasn't only so good in goal you know saving shots making sure that the Tottenham didn't score but his ball distribution he was like creating chances for Arsenal how difficult a move is this for ramsdale a terrible move he's going to get relegated again that's this is this is the point I mean not only that but yeah but it wasn't difficult then because he didn't know anything else no no it's true though he didn't know he didn't know he's had a touch taste of the Highlight turning left on a plane once you've done that you can't turn right ever again you know all about that son but he's right though he's done that isn't he he's he's played Champions League football he's been in the England squad there was a massive conversation a couple of years ago about should he Al Jord and pford I mean back down R and I was certainly of the opinion I said look they've signed rer for whatever reasons but he isn't a better goalkeeper than Aaron ramale and I think there is a world by the way you may disagree with me here I think there is a world where if you analyze strictly the goalkeeping ability I think Aaron ramsdale is comparable to rare I really do it it's it's all of the it's the rest isn't it it's the noise that goes with r yeah like it was that that interview the right it blew my mind yeah you shouldn't be doing that you know when he openly admitted that he couldn't concentrate for an hour and a half shouldn't be doing it and and those are the kind of things I T Ian Wright is such a Ian wght is such a generous man is such a generous interview you could see that Ian Wright was like trying to empathize trying to stop him stop doing it so AR ramale to southampton's going Eddie and K's an interesting one let's not forget had to go he's not he's just not good enough for the team that Arsenal are these days that's the issue isn't it cuz when they gave him that big contract I think it's 110 around a week and the number you felt like okay that and the number you felt okay that's it now he's going to be the guy and that's not quite worked out good move though for him to get a palace move I think I think I think that's it's a very good club to go to yes it is why why do you stutter with that what I just think that the drop off from Arsenal from a team that were trying to win the Champions as well trying to win the Champions League trying to win the Premier League and playing in the Champions League you know he was scoring hattricks for Arsenal last season yeah he's he's gone to a team that aren't in Europe at all and I just wonder if there was a a club slightly more ambitious slightly more successful than than Palace because palace's priority will be survival like that's it's true their their first and foremost priority will be 40 points I think Ed ker is better than that I I think it just needs to go somewhere where you're and by the way I don't know if he will be the main man because of mateta but I think when need to go somewhere where you get the opportunities you're going to be playing alongside England Internationals in gay and E and you can almost you can almost you know do what a salanki has done where you you take a drop down like San did from Liverpool and you know Liverpool and Chelsea to Bournemouth you score goals you potentially get a big move again if you score goals there are no number nines unfortunately anymore you scor 25 a season you're going to get a move again because I I rate Ando very highly I rate him very highly just not in the conversation that we were having like he's not good enough to play for Arsenal he's not good enough to play for a team that are hoping to win the European Cup give me a team then give me a team where you think he should have been I think that he could do a job at a club that has a lot of ambition but maybe isn't successful yet so Newcastle I think he's wow at that level of Club I think he's I think he's capable of playing I thought West Ham was a good move for him absolutely similar I thought West Ham was a good move a club that want to be in Europe a club that's just won trophies won a trophy recently I thought that was a good move but he's gone there um EML Smith row obviously that deal happened what a couple of weeks ago now to Fulham Fulham makes sense there's there's a nice there would have been another potential club that when when talking about Eddie and Keta I mean Emil Smith row going to Fulham this is this is perfect for Fulham it's exactly what they need perfect for both I it's perfect for yeah it's one of those weird signings that doesn't happen very often where everyone's a winner baby you know one of those where that the player I think he's got a good move got the club that he needs to go to I think Arsenal have got exactly what they need out of it and Fulham have got themselves a very very talented footballer this is a London it's a good it's a good move it's a good season this for Fulham I think very quickly back on Edie and KY very quickly 25 million is the fee we're hearing that's fair it's not fair no it's very expensive but that's life 25 million is expensive for ineta you think I I thought that okay it is isn't it look it maybe in the maybe in the world that we're operating it isn't but re but realistically Eddie and Keta shouldn't be worth 25 million quid like that's just not what it should be but I think Fulham could have a really big year you know Fulham would be my surprise package my tip for a surprise package this is the first summer that they've had a proper preseason they haven't had the distraction of mitrovic they haven't had the distraction remember this time last year it looked like Marco Silva could go to Saudi yeah this year they really have had a stable stable summer they've been in Portugal having nice training camps things have been going their way they've started this season well and made some intelligent signings by the way yeah you're right I mean tossing leaving Fulham to go to Chelsea and then they replacing tossin with Anderson yeah I mean Anderson's a rock solid G back there I mean and that was another one where everyone won as well cuz Palace double double their money yeah I think I think everyone's happy with that move on the game very quickly Arsenal versus Brighton obviously Arsenal coming off that really good win I didn't think they performed well against Villa but they got the result and that's what counts Villa away three points how do you see this one playing out again two teams that have started perfect so something's got to give here how do you see this playing out it's It's Tricky isn't it I me Villa I I have big expectations for Aston Villa this season I think that they are going to have a really big year if you think about the trajectory that they've been on since Jack Gish kept them up that year yeah it's just been building building building isn't it and now they've they've culminated with that into European comp ition but I do think they need a trophy M I think that they need some genuine success so I think they've got a big year ahead I'm I'm unsure I'm unsure where it will come because the European Cup's going to be one bridge too far for them finishing in the Champions League spots is going to be very very difficult for them so I'm not I'm not quite sure realistically where it's um where it's going to go on am on da via the talk sport app and on your smart speaker talk sport
