now let's check in with Renee hey girl hey s since his start as a child star Elijah Wood has been a Hollywood main stay for 35 years from big budget Blockbusters to TV and everything in between he's absolutely done it all for his latest film Project Elijah returned to the Wilderness of New Zealand but this time he was on a very different Adventure hello buildid it's me your dad I just flew halfway across the world to be with you little lady great Hi Elijah welcome to the Today's Show Australia it's so nice to see you how are you doing I'm really well thank you thank you so much for having me I love that you are trekking across New Zealand again but this time it's a a slightly different Journey right it certainly is yeah it couldn't be more different this is a a a father daughter Wilderness comedy set in New Zealand it's an incredible very funny story about a a father who has been a stranged from his daughter for her entire life her mother Falls ill and he kind of comes to the rescue and sort of enters her life with with Great Gusto and she thrusts him on this kind of Adventure to look for this mythical Panther it's such a sweet movie but what was it about the script that made you want to jump on board straight away it was a combination of the script getting a chance to work with the same creative team from come to Daddy's and then to play a father I've never played a father in a film uh I am a father now this particular father's quite different circumstantially from my own experience he comes to do it very late and very unprepared and then going back to New Zealand getting a chance to to return to that country and work in the wilderness was a was a thrilling idea as well don't you think we all come into Parenthood completely unprepared well yeah I mean even if you were to read a book which I didn't uh at all um there's nothing that can prepare you for just the what those realities really are yeah there's nothing that can repair you and your world shifts overnight in the most incredible magical powerful way um and suddenly you're a father and there's and you're just you're just catching up and learning as you go what did I ever do to you most daughters see their dads more than once a decade you've also just made so many incredible career choices and obviously we've seen you do these huge Blockbuster films and then these smaller kind of films as an actor at this point in your career what are you looking for when it comes to films what how how do you choose I think it's always genuinely a gut feeling it can simply be the script it's hard to say I don't know that I'm ever looking for anything specifically Beyond just looking for things that are good and that I I have a response to um and you know I think I'm always looking to be challenged as an actor and to work on films that are unlike anything I've done um so that tends to be a guiding principle I'll look after you go go go I can't do it you can nice kitty okay that's officially the craziest thing I've ever seen I know I'm pretty CH too I love that you've done all these films in New Zealand but we haven't heard you do a New Zealand accent yet have you mastered it mine is I can't do it kiwi kiwi's tricky it's hard it's easy to do an extreme kiwi accent um like n yeast right um fash shops that was good okay so we're not going to see that happen anytime soon for you I don't think so well what about Australian I mean it's a little bit easier than New Zealand you haven't really come have you shot a film in Australia yet what's what are you waiting for no I haven't well that's not true I I um we recorded all of Happy Feet 2 in in Sydney yes I mean it wasn't a liveaction movie but we all of it was recorded at a um I think at Warner yes I love Australia I would love to spend more time in Australia hopefully we get to see you down under at some point come visit us anytime I would love that yeah thank you can I make one thing perfectly clear what's that this ttin is a fart for his own clear clear I am so sorry Christ quite possibly the nicest actor in Hollywood Bookworm is in cinemas tomorrow enjoy nice one thank you Renee hey there today fans Sarah and what's my name again car hey thanks for watching our YouTube channel though subscribe now for more news special reports and amazing Aussie stories and Kyle misbehaving of course that never happens always happens she talking about always happens
