TERRENCE IS BACK AT THE LIVE DESK WITH HOW YOU CAN SUBMIT A DESIGN. NOW, BEFORE WE GET TO THAT, CALL ME PROFESSOR LEE BECAUSE WE'RE ABOUT TO HAVE A HISTORY LESSON. OKAY, ABOUT THE CURRENT FLAG. SO WHILE YOU CAN SUBMIT DESIGNS FOR A NEW FLAG STARTING NEXT WEEK, IT DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEAN WE'RE GETTING RID OF THE OLD ONE. THE COMMISSION WILL NARROW DOWN THE SUBMISSIONS TO TEN DESIGNS, THEN THERE WILL BE A PUBLIC SURVEY. PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO VOTE ON THEIR FAVORITES, OR THEY CAN VOTE TO KEEP THE CURRENT FLAG. AFTER THAT, THE COMMISSION WILL REPORT ITS FINDINGS TO THE ILLINOIS GENERAL ASSEMBLY, WHOSE MEMBERS WILL MAKE THE FINAL DECISION. THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO ENSURE OUR FLAG TRULY EMBODIES ILLINOIS AND CELEBRATES OUR GREAT STATE. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED TO LET YOUR CREATIVITY FLOW AND RUN YOUR IDEA UP THE FLAGPOLE. ALL RIGHT, IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT SUBMITTING A DESIGN, HERE'S SOME GUIDANCE. THERE IS NO LIMIT ON COLORS, BUT IT IS RECOMMENDED YOU USE LESS THAN THREE. OKAY, YOUR DESIGN CANNOT BE COPIED FROM OTHERS OR USE AN EXISTING LOGO. THAT SAID, YOU CAN USE ELEMENTS OF THE STATE SEAL OR ANY PREVIOUS ILLINOIS STATE FLAGS. FINALLY, YOUR DESIGNS CANNOT BE AI GENERATED. WE HAVE THE WEBSITE YOU CAN SUBMIT TO ON YOUR SCREEN RIGHT THERE, AND YOU CAN START SUBMITTING SEPTEMBER 3RD. EACH PERSON CAN ONLY TURN IN THREE DESIGNS.
