okay sorry Paula your thoughts on the match well first of all I'm I'm really happy to be here is this working oh yeah yeah I'm really happy to be here on the quarterfinals for the first time um today wasn't easy at all um even though the result the results says that way um I think uh it was a very tactical match and uh I played really well I was aggressive I I stepped in the court when I when I had to so I'm really happy that it worked and and I'm through and I came through the match name and affiliation one question each so I can get around the room and then I'll come back tennis.com congratulations on the result tennis as you said on court is pretty crazy 3 months ago you thought you might be leaving the sport and you know today you were the overall B many ways to make this quarterfinal how do you manage the wh Whiplash of expectations yeah I think that was the tricky part of today that maybe I was the favorite and I and there's there has been many times I didn't deal with that really well because um I lost a few times on on the fourth round so today I was quite nervous but uh I think I managed that and I dealed with the pressure and the and the nerves pretty well um I I was really aggressive I think today the forehand worked really well and especially also the serve so I'm really pleased with that and um and also I know it was a tactical match she she plays very very tactical she's very smart on the court so um I'm really happy I I went uh I I was very aggressive I went for my shots and um I think I'm playing pretty well all the matches and and today I could prove that really you spoke on court about how you feel about both Coco and Emma but taking them separately for the moment since we don't know which person you'll be playing firstly what are your thoughts about coko what she's accomplished and what the challenge is when you face her it's always a battle against Koko um also a very tactical match against her every time um she's she's what she's accomplished already on in tennis it's it's great and I think she's a great girl also um she's very inspiring uh in a very young age so mature and uh she she already want a slam she did a final in in French op semi-finals this year at the beginning of the year so it's always a tough a tough a tough open opening you know so um in that match I'm expecting uh very big serves uh good backend um and um a battle again so we had one in Rome I lost uh for small opportunities there small details and hopefully uh this time uh I know it's going to be tricky also because I'm going to play an American a home crowd so but I like this kind of stuff it's it's a challenge and I'm really looking forward to it against Emma it's a little bit different also she's very very talented we had a a very big battle in Rome also it was Clay it was it's different but um she's playing very well she's been doing a very good summer also very playing good matches um also I'm expecting a tough one there maybe I will have to be U more aggressive than her and uh and let's see how it goes Tuesday hi uh Haley Fuller usopen.org congrats on your win um you just mentioned a little bit that regardless you're playing in America and it's a home crowd but you were also born here so how are you feeling about playing a home crowd that's also in your no but it's not going to be for me come on let's be honest even though I was born I think they just care about the flag so I will play against an American and I will be they will there will Che for for them but I totally get it and it's it's still going to be cool I I still like it it's it's going to be my first time on on ash so I never played that it's going to be my first time in a quarterfinals also so um it's an experience for me and uh I I like this kind of challenges I was born to play on big stages and uh I'm really looking forward for that we good Tamar congratulations I'm curious over the last few months um since you've been gradually improving at what point did you kind of allow yourself to believe that you could get back to playing deep in friend SLS again well look I always knew that if my back responded well well and my injury responded well I said it I I I think I said it with you in Washington that um I had the talent and uh and I knew I could get back to the top um I just needed like my physical part to respond and I think the mental and the tennis was there so finally working really well this couple couple of months I think the work is paying off and that's the the thing that I'm most proud of myself you know because I I knew that if that was okay the rest will come take two more Willie and David you've spoken about even considering retirement what do you think about that today how it got to that point that you even considered that yeah because in that moment I was feeling pain every day I was waking up so it for me didn't make sense and also I said it the other day for me with all my respects um for me tennis doesn't make sense if I'm not on the top you know I want to play Big stages I want to play the last rounds of of every tournament I want to be in the best one of the best players in the world then is when I feel motivated and excited every day if if not for me being in the ranking I was two months ago didn't make any sense and for me I struggle a lot mentally being in that position so for me what makes sense and what makes me happy every day is to be where I am right now in the last in the last stages of every tournament last question in English David just to follow up on that a little bit had you gotten to a point where you felt like you could picture a life without tennis like had you had a sense of what you would do if you did have to stop and just also generally speaking how have you been spending your off days um well there was some moments I was thinking about it before like in in the clay Court season when I was losing uh very soon in the tournaments and I'm like w what what can I do now you know um but at the end I always had this small part of me that I had faith on myself I had this belief that I could come back um I knew it was going to be a a process that I had to trust that I have to be P had to be patient but um I wanted I remember saying to my coach look I'm going to give myself this year and let's see if if if if this can can work out and um well it it's working so I cannot complain so I'm happy with that thank you let's transition to Spanish please
